The angry personal attacks following my gun control proposals demonstrate brutish blind rigid unreasonable 2nd Amendment radical orthodoxy

Geraldo Rivera is now whining about the fact that others don’t like his opinion on gun control. Dear Geraldo, you are a public figure with a national television show. You are going to get criticism. Get over it.
Here’s a synopsis of Geraldo’s “proposals” from FireArmsPolicy.org:
In a January 5 broadcast on Fox News, Geraldo Rivera outlined and argued for his own gun control proposals, which included a national registration scheme and an outright ban of common self-defense firearms like semi-automatic rifles (except, of course, for the political elite).
There were some good points thrown back at him in response:
@GeraldoRivera Geraldo, registering all firearms will not prevent shootings, just like registering cars does not stop drunk driving.—

@GeraldoRivera With all due respect, Sir, your proposals restricting 2nd Amendment rights can be viewed as an affront to personal liberty.—

@GeraldoRivera once you let obama or any president start changing the constitution, we are thru as a country—

@GeraldoRivera Your proposals are ridiculous. Lets apply the same to the 1st amendment. Words have killed more people than guns.—

@GeraldoRivera Can you draw the line between reasonable and unreasonable?—

Before Saturday’s broadcast, he tweeted this tease:
Will I tear up my NRA membership card because of group's inexcusably inflexible response to massacres? Watch FNC tonight live @10pm ET—

And this may be the best point made on the subject:
@GeraldoRivera Honestly no one gives a damn if you're an NRA member—
