MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell is super excited by the idea of ‘Senator Barney!’ Frank

Shorter beltway barnacle Barney Frank: I know I just left D.C., and this is crazy, but here’s my number, so call me maybe?

Yep, Barney Frank wants to head back to Washington as an interim U.S. Senator to replace Sen. John Kerry. He’s already reached out to Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and Andrea Mitchell is so psyched she’s whipping out the exclamation point for “Senator Barney!”

Swoon, lapdog, swoon! Good dog.

Barney Frank? The same Barney Frank that played a very big role in the housing bubble and it’s subsequent collapse? Yeah, make him a Senator, what could possibly go wrong…

Barney just wants to get frisked by Biden.

Wow Andrea. He did such a bang-up job while he was in charge of overseeing the mortgage lending fiasco, and then topped it with his buddy Dodd in writing legislation to fix a problem HE helped create (and put hundreds of small banks out of business at the same time). How could he not just be a great Senator? With his track record of success and whiz-bang financial acumen, he should help speed us toward national bankruptcy even faster.

If not this temporary Senate appointment, why not Secretary of Defense or maybe even
    the hopeful Attorney General opening?
