Glenn Beck has confirmed that he had approached Current TV about buying the cable channel but was turned down because he was not “aligned” with the network’s point of view. So is it any surprise that Al-Jazeera was given the go-ahead?
Before Al-Jazeera bought Current TV, TheBlaze looked into buying it but we were rejected by progressive owners. glennbeck.com/2013/01/02/did… WG—

So Current TV was okay with Al Qaeda's favorite news network buying it, but not Glenn Beck? glennbeck.com/2013/01/02/did… Wow.—

The Wall Street Journal reports that Current’s Joel Hyatt agreed to the sale because “Al-Jazeera was founded with the same goals we had for Current,” including “to give voice to those whose voices are not typically heard” and “to speak truth to power.” Beck, on the other hand, would have replaced Current’s programming with his own TheBlazeTV.
Hearing that Al-Jazeera will not change the editorial policies of Current TV. Then again, why would they need to?—

Sadly, according to Hyatt, that’s not a joke.
