Russell Simmons: Democracy won't become a dictatorship — it's already owned by 'cooperation's'

Ghoulish gungrabber Russell Simmons has already been busted as a hypocrite, but it never hurts to remind people that he’s also a dolt. When a Twitter user pointed out to him that dictatorships arise in part when the public is unable to defend itself against government tyranny:

Simmons claimed that it’s in fact “cooperation’s” that are putting America on the fast track to fascism.

Er, corporations, that is.

Either way, Simmons is full of it. As is one of his sycophants:

Yeah. Darn that Citizens United! Meanwhile:

But that’s perfectly acceptable when Obama does it, right Russell?

And what does he have to say about this?

It’s true:

While Simmons was creepily distracted by a naked Rihanna, he failed to notice that Chicago has reached the 500-homicide milestone for 2012:

40-year-old Nathaniel Jackson was shot on the city’s West Side around 9 p.m Thursday. He was pronounced dead shortly after midnight. The victim’s family has confirmed his identity.

Chicago Police say Jackson was shot in the head while standing outside a convenience store at Augusta Boulevard and Lavergne Avenue in the Austin Neighborhood.

…2008 was the last time Chicago reached 500 homicides.

But hey — priorities!

Also, #JusticeforTrayvon!

Huh? Not sure that makes remotely any sense, but then, when does Simmons ever make sense? Not when he’s whining about the Second Amendment, and certainly not when he’s weighing in on the fiscal cliff:

Pretty funny coming from a guy who regularly exploits the poor.

Awww … he’s pushing #My2k. How cute!

Jared Leto must be beaming.

Russell ought to take this matter up with fellow dictator-hater Harry Reid. Harry doesn’t seem too bothered by the fiscal cliff. Maybe he could teach yoga-lover Russell a few more relaxation techniques.

Man, America was so much better when the British were in charge! You need some colonial rule!

    • carla5731

I can see two immediate problems with that. One, it’s doubtful that Russell Simmons would be happy with colonial legal code; and, two, you’d have to convince Americans that forking over a portion of their income to support a long line of pampered pasty royals is a good idea.

    • KansasGirl

How ya like O being in charge?

      • Bob Smooper

Love it- but he needs to pass some laws to get all whites to pay 5% of their paycheck to blacks to apologise for the slave trade.

        • patriot fan

My family never owned slaves, why should I pay for slave trade? My family came from Ireland and were poor. What about the Africans that rounded up Africans and sold people like they were animals?

          • carla5731

He’s also ignoring the fact that Arabs in North Africa enslaved both Africans and caucasians.

          • libscum

And that black people enslaved the Jews.

        • carla5731

You should check out this website:

Their estimates for total numbers of slaves transported are as follows:
          Portugal / Brazil: 5,848,265
          Great Britain: 3,259,440
          France: 1,381,404
          Spain / Uruguay: 1,061,524
          Netherlands: 554,336
          U.S.A.: 305,326
          Denmark / Baltic: 111,041

If you believe Americans should be forced to pay 5% as an apology, many Europeans should have to give 15% or more.

        • Jillane Kent

Even those who had not legally emigrated during the time of slavery? Why is your opinion of blacks and their economic tenacity and endeavor so low?

    • TocksNedlog

Yeah, stupid flawed humanity NEEDS a ruling class, don’t they?

    • Jillane Kent

Tell me, how are the grievances that led to the American Revolution somehow not in keeping with your liberal sensibilities?

  • Pat Bateman

    Spell-checking Twitter! Genius!

    • Jillane Kent

Should one not expect proper spelling and grammar from those that claim to be the ombudsman of all issues from tax policy to gun control?

  • Marcy Cook

Russell has been standing on his head too long. His brains spilled out his ears.

  • ZoriahShepard

I wonder…did he mean to spell his Twitter handle UncleRUSS but forgot how?

    Spelling’s hard!

  • grais

They often say they’re “willing” to pay more taxes. Why don’t they just DO it?

  • whatsavvysays

House Republicans passed a bill to extend all the tax cuts, but Senate Dems won’t bring it to the floor. I wish he would read.

Outside of grammar issues, tying unrelated thoughts and topics together, logical fallacies and references to people that leave one shaking their head- what’s your problem with UncleRush? I bet Terry McMilian could help the good Uncle out. Or perhaps JCO.

  • Dick Beninya

The man is the epitome of hypocrite.

  • Jack Deth

Talk about being blissfully ensconced in the Democrat plantation.

The more this never was, has been tweets. The more hypocritically vulgar and ignorant he reveals himself to be!

  • libscum

Maybe he thinks the country is owned by local co-ops.
