Mediaite editors outraged — sorry, infuriated — by Twitchy's 24/7 outrage

Self-proclaimed “objective” journalist Mika Brzezinski had the vapors today after GOP Rep. Tim Huelskamp appeared on “Morning Joe.” Twitchy — where we do our best to hold the media accountable for what they put forth — reported on Brzezinski’s decidedly un-objective conduct. And, well, that didn’t sit well with “real reporters” at Mediaite:

No, Andrew. We don’t think so. At all. But you know who does? Mika Brzezinski.

“What I think people like is that while we both come from different ideological standpoints, our objective is to be objective.”

Clearly an avid Twitchy reader. We certainly never have any fun around here.

Mediaite founding editor Colby Hall and our old pal Tommy Christopher rounded out the intellectual jam session:

Anyone have a mirror?

Actually, Tommy, there are nine of us chimps in the Twitchy tree. But unlike you, we don’t spend our days flinging poo.

That’d be Dickens, actually, if we’re gonna get nitpicky. Not Shakespeare. But we digress.

Nyuk nyuk nyuk! Quick! Someone find a waiter for us to tip.

It’s generally easier to ignore stupidity, but where’s the fun in that? Twitchy’s fearless leader Michelle Malkin kindly stepped in to inject a little truth:

Exactly. Mediaite might not care to fully cover the media, but we do.

A parting thought from one of our resident chimpanzees:

Oh, snap.

Twitchy in the news: profile

Mediaite smears James O’Keefe, Andrew Breitbart

Dana Loesch verbally smacks Tommy Christopher for conspiratorial, condescending article

  • WilliamAmos

    Chimps are smarter than reporters.

    • Lord Foggybottom

      Less alcoholicy too.

    • $36544368

An amoeba is smarter than reporters.

  • sybilll

How dare Michelle Malkin do something that Obama can’t……..create jobs.

    • lainer51

      GOOD ONE!

    • blueniner

TOMMY and MEDIAITE never met a Sarah Palin story they didnt post to raise traffic and hits, ought give her a commission, she drives the most hits and comments than anyone else over there.

    • Michael Hampton

And she was able to do it without tax cuts. Hmm.

  • el_polacko

jeeze…hate to have to defend the mediate guys but it IS true that there’s an awful lotta ‘outrage’ around here. not to say that much of it isn’t deserved, but every time some nobody or D-list celeb tweets something ‘twitchy’ (malkin?) doesn’t like the pitchforks come out and the torches light this place up like christmas. the ‘fun’ posts here are few and far between.

    • disqus_LASIg6epmj

Twitchy is more than just Malkin.

    • Joe W.

No one is making you hang out here, chief…

    • KansasGirl

el, if you hate to defend the mediate guys, then don’t.
I’m sure DU is missing you.

      • GaryTheBrave

        DU=Ducks Unlimited?

        • CherDash

          Dimocrat Underground.

    • lainer51

      are you Mika’s brother?

    • Finrod Felagund

It’s not Twitchy’s fault that there’s so much material out there that’s so mock-worthy. I believe the term is ‘target-rich environment’.

      • MoxieLouise

        That made me smile :-)

    • blueniner

    • Michael Rice

I believe you are confusing us with the lefties over at the “Kill all NRA members” rally.

    • TocksNedlog

That comment could not have been any stupider, even IF you had actually put any effort into it.

  • Zane Henry

I come for the snarks, giggles and the mockeries! Mmmmm….delicious mockery.

  • Jack Deth

Has ‘Mediaite’ ever considered that their Avis #2 position may be that they liberally based and biased?

And that the only time they attain or gain traction is through conservatives calling them on it?

    Thought not.

  • Bob Smooper

The big problem with this Twitchy website is that it only covers bad behaviour from liberals. It ignores bad behaviour from conservatives.

It reminds me of the Media Research Centre – both it, and twitchy – do not exist to be unbiased – they exist to help elect GOPers.

    • BeyondPolls

Twitchy has attacked Ann Coulter on a number of occasions.

    • Joe W.

Wrong. Its just that there is a helluva lot more bad behavior coming from the left. That is who they are.

    • KansasGirl

      Are you joking?
If not Twitchy, then who will?

    • lainer51

The big problem with the mainstream media is that they only cover bad behavior from conservatives. They ignore bad behavior from liberals.

It reminds me of Media Matters – both it and MSDNC do not exist to be unbiased – they exist to help elect Dems.
BTW – you are welcome for the correction of your spelling and grammar.

      • GaryTheBrave

I’m glad you corrected Mr. Cooper on the correct spelling of “behavior” but he still misspelled “Center.”

    • vino veritas

No, that is factually incorrect. There is also the fact that Twitchy and
Michelle Malkin do not hide (now or ever) the fact that they are
politically conservative, unlike the masquerade which liberal hacks at
      Mediaite employ.

      • lainer51

no bettter example of that than Blow Hard Joe Scarborough… republican, indeed!!

    • Jillane Kent

That is true. If only you ignore all the evidence to the contrary. MRC often will lambaste Republicans. I cannot imagine that you are a frequent visitor so you might have missed it, but use Newsbusters search feature and type in Sheperd Smith/McCain/Graham/Snow etc if you care to see how false your statement is.

    • TocksNedlog

      Your Union Jack is showing.

  • kate_middleton

Outrage 24/7? Ever read a Tommy Christopher “column”? Talk about outrage 24/7!

  • EstepsAmerica

Twitchy, “It was the blurst of times” is a Simpsons reference. Mr. Burns hired a bunch of chimps and was outraged when they came up with “it was the best of times, it was the blurst of times.

So correcting him by saying it was Dickens totally misses his point.

    • Colby Hall

      thanks for ‘splaining

      • vino veritas

Hey hypocritical tool, glad you could stop by and give us some of your poignantly lettered observations. Please clean up your mess after pilfering for your latest ‘outrageous’ column on the ‘outrageous’ nature of content theft, of which I know you are doing because you have so much experience to share. I’m sure Twitchy is happy to grant you are hearty welcome for providing you with the little relevance you still have.

    • kch50428

And his use of the Simpsons reference makes him cultured and anyone that missed the reference a rube? Only in Liberalville…

      • GaryTheBrave

Simpsons are so last decade. Now it has to be Family Guy if you want to be hip.

        • kch50428

Family Guy… The Peter Principle of culture rot.

    • vino veritas

Oh good gracious dear me oh my! How could these in-cognizant marsupials
be so unrefined as to NOT catch a reference from one of America’s
greatest sources of classical literature: The Simpsons!! Dear Gaawwd how
revolting! LOL! Perhaps a better point, of which you totally and
unsurprisingly missed, is the fact that Mediaite are a bunch of lefty
hacks masquerading as real reporters who steal from Twitchy and Michelle
Malkin then attempt to denigrate her in the most sophomoric of
ways. Typical behavior from these liberal new media pack hounds. Honesty, accuracy, respect or manners is as foreign to them as fair play is to hyenas.

      • Tabitha Bliss

It’s basically George Soros mouthpiece sooo yeah I agree with that assessment.

    • Jillane Kent

Generally, one is not quick to move from Shakespeare to the Simpsons, no? Given the exceptionally small audience that this show garners, one would not easily pick up on that reference.

    • $30423294

If you have to explain it, it isn’t funny.

      You get that, right?

  • Erick Brockway

If Tommy Christopher types long enough, eventually he’ll write the truth. Eventually.

    Keep typing, Tommy-boy

    • MoxieLouise

Even a blind sow finds an acorn once in a while.

  • George Washington Mclintock

24/7 outrage? You know, there is a lot to be outraged about in Obama’s America.

  • Guest

Hey Andrew, let’s make it multiple choice…” They just infuriate me because there’s a lot of potential in Twitter aggregation. And instead it’s just OUTRAGE 24/7

  • MoxieLouise

Maybe Andrew is infuriated not because of wasted potential but because the Twitchy team is smarter than he is.

    • Red Fred

By far the brightest, funniest, and sharp shooter wit.

  • blueniner

TOMMY (Christopher), is that deaf and DUMB blind boy that Peter Townsend and the WHO sung about!

    • GaryTheBrave

I was thinking of Chris Farley’s Tommy. The problem with both characters is they achieved something. Tommy Christopher, not so much.

      • MoxieLouise

I was thinking of Tommy Flanagan, SNL’s pathological liar

  • K-Bob

Why they mistake “outrage” for laughter at their expense, I don’t know. But supposing they were actually correct, and it was all about OUTRAGE! (I know, it’s probably mathematically impossible, but we’re talking about leftists here). If that were true, then somehow they have decided that outrage is bad, but inciting violence and making threats is good. Given that false dichotomy, I’d have to go with outrage.

    But I’m still laughing.

  • Rob Stevely

    They sound a bit jealous.

  • Guest

They won’t admit it but they ALL read Twitchy because it exposes them for their stupidity and hypocrisy. Not to mention the tweets are right there in black and white backing up their ignorance. I love Twitchy and I love you too Michelle!!!

    • TMZ2

I am sure they read newsbusters as well. And the Blaze.

      • Guest

No they read Huffpo and NY Times. It’s required reading for all good little Nazi puppets. #BrainwashedbyMedia

  • TocksNedlog

Xtopher can just add this site to the list of things that he ignores:

  • $1014973

They certainly are spending a lot of time ignoring you. Perhaps they aren’t getting the irony?

  • Barack Hussein Sharpton

MediaiteMatters lifts most of their material from Eric Boehlert’s ass, which is where Tommy “Christopher” and Colby Hall dwell.

    • TMZ2

Thanks for the information. I will search out who this Eric Boehlert is. Colby Hall left recently Mediaite. I forgot where he went but all I could find was clear channel. Whatever that means. I guess he works with management running the radio channels.

P.S. I found the info. Eric Boehlert is an American writer at Media Matters for America. Prior to this he was a senior writer for Salon for five years, and before that a contributing editor to Rolling Stone.

Oh so he is is at Media Matters. Well, ok. I hardly read that place.

  • BeeKaaay

Awwwww….the propagandists are called to the carpet for their propagandizing and they whine like babies. Someone change their diapers.

  • TMZ2

ABC Legal analyst and former MSNBC guy Dan Abrams and his company is behind Mediaite and a similar group of other sites. After reading the site, a while, it just likes to focus on cable and network news and the spats on there. Mainly the big three cable news channels of Fox News, MSNBC and CNN with additional broadcast network stuff sprinkled in when they feel like it. It doesn’t do much of anything else and rarely reports on things said on RTV, Current, PJTV, Huffington Post Live, Reason TV and The Blaze TV and the various radio talk show hosts like Dana Loesch, Rusty Humphries, Mark Levin, Leslie Marshall and Stephanie Miller and all the rest..

Although once it mentioned how S.E. Cupp talked with Glenn Beck about gay marriage, which The Blaze news site forgot to bring up. Say what you will but I read the site just to see the comments and articles. But it does lean left-wing the reporting. It didn’t mention the Obama in pee pee thing Glenn Beck did, but when S.E. talked about gay marriage on The Cycle and during The Blaze TV’s Real News then it made the site.

Like take the present line up of stories for Sunday December 23, 2012 at 11am eastern time. Up first is the headline story which is a debate on Meet The Depressed between David Gregory and the guest who is the NRA president Wayne La Pierre. Second story comes from CNN’s State of The Union show with Candy Crowley. Another debate with a person from the NRA. Then you have a story that is a puff piece about Arnie Duncan tearing up over gun control. They do mention Dave Briggs leaving Fox and Friends weekends after over 5 years on air. But then they posted on Tucker Carlson’s appearance on the show yesterday.

Well I’ll be dammed they posted on Dana Loesch but only to mention she is suing where she had been editor of Big Journalism but quit posting on September 13th articles. Well they sure do jump on gossip. It is not like they report on anything the Breitbart group of sites ever does. They didn’t report on Kerry Picket joining the Breitbart group of sites. But I imagine they reported on Jake Tapper moving to CNN. Mediaite and can be one sided in coverage.

To balance out Mediaite’s coverage I go to,, Breitbart, World Net Daily, Daily Caller and here to Twitchy among other sites. I also read occasionally Think Progress to see what the left is saying. Each site has its own bent and its own angle of coverage. I would add Mediaite is sort of similar to Media Matters which I hardly ever read. I’m conservative and prefer conservative news.

  • lainer51

if it’s so offensive, go to Media Matters website instead – I hear they are looking to up their “I carry Barry’s water” membership.

  • justlittlolme

Someone persistently hanging around a group of people they obviously detest in order to disparage and ridicule them says a LOT about that person…..don’t you think?
