Musket Morgan: 'Can buy AR-15s at supermarket'; Loesch, happy warriors dole out well-deserved drubbing

Oh, dear. Piers “Musket” Morgan is at it again. The professional ghoul just can’t stop himself from letting his sanctimonious idiocy show.

Twitter users immediately take Morgan to task over his claim that one can buy an AR-15 at a supermarket. Thinking, it’s so hard!

Of course they will, being fellow ghoulish lapdogs and all. Breitbart.com editor and CNN contributor Dana Loesch, however, won’t let it slide. Fight like a girl? You betcha.

Loesch has been calling out all the falsities and absurdities being spread by media lapdogs and liberal anti-gun rights zealots.

Truth telling with class? Now, that is empowerment. Other happy warriors join in calling Musket Morgan on the carpet.

Piers can’t answer you. Amendment thingies are hard.

Addressing real issues is too difficult. It’s much easier to toss around nonsense and pretentiously lecture with straw men, right Piers?

We wonder if Piers will take eighteen hours to craft his responses to Ms. Loesch.

  • Cold War Grunt

I am not sure what super market Mr. Morgan is shopping at, but I’d like to look into getting a franchise …

The man is an idiot … really … completely vacuous. He has the critical reasoning capacity of a … oh wait, that is right, he is a subject .. not a citizen. Sorry, silly me.

  • Jeff

I agree with Piers in part; It is much too difficult to buy Sudafed in this country.

    • Cold War Grunt

You have a point there … after all, we are restricting the ability of meth-labs to keep up with demand … not.

So, following liberal logic — drug laws don’t work, therefore you shouldn’t have any. Wait, what about gun control laws …

      • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

You can ask the people of Chicago and D.C. how those super strict gun control laws are working for those poor folks. But crack’s illegal too, so how does Marion Berry square with that one?

      • http://pennyrobinsonfanclub.net/ PennyRobinsonFanClub

Yes because that Sudafed ban worked SO well in stopping meth production, didn’t it? Perhaps Piers would like to stay at my house and witness the customers for the meth dealer across the street come and go. His first question will be where I keep the .40 and the clips. My answer will be to tell him he’s on his own.

They will NEVER understand, or admit, that gun control laws only affect those that obey the law.

  • o0Nighthawk0o

I’ve been watching the #NRA hashtag for the last few days and it is really amazing how little the gun control whackos know about weapons and the laws. Dana is correct. Anything that can be used to cause harm would be considered an ‘assault weapon’. Also amazing how angry people get when called out on this. In fact I tried to point out to @Cher yesterday that automatic weapons are already banned and she blocked me.

    • Cold War Grunt

It all degenerates very rapidly into a complete removal of firearms from the hands of law-abiding citizens.

Nitwit Nancy — ‘Assault Magazines’, ‘Assault Weapon’ — from a legal perspective, ‘assault’ is the threat of violence, not the commission of an act of violence. So if we then look at the military use of the word ‘assault’, then a 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP all become ‘assault weapons’, along with knives, smoke grenades, and other items used by standard and special op forces while executing an attacking maneuver.

Then they start talking about semi-automatic weapons? Somebody define this in a fashion that would be useful for a legal document. Semi-automatic? Implies no manual re-cocking of the weapon perhaps? This would literally remove all but bolt-action rifles, pump shotguns, and single-action pistols from the market. But then all of these were at one time used by military forces as ‘assault weapons’.

The circular argument leads us back to the 2nd, 9th, and 10th amendments are the only things standing between citizenry becoming subjects.

      • http://pennyrobinsonfanclub.net/ PennyRobinsonFanClub

As I understand it, “assault rifle” is the one term which is technically accurate and well-defined.

        • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

It’s only an ‘assault’ rifle if you assault someone with it.

        • RightThinking1

Interesting. If I have it correct, the issue M1 carbine would not be labeled an assault weapon, making it Okey Doke with the anti-gun crowd. Is there anyone here who thinks that this guy could not have just as easily inflicted exactly the same horror using an M1 carbine?
The chatter about ‘assault weapons’ brings nothing to the discussion, and is a distraction from the proper questions of identifying nut-cases, and the responsibility of securing one’s firearms.

          • Jay Stevens

I wouldn’t consider an M1 carbine an assault rifle. It’s not selective fire.

        • Jay Stevens

          True: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_rifle

By that definition, an M-1 Garand or an M-14 rifle, each being a full sized rifle (10 or 11 pounds loaded) firing a full sized cartridge, is not an assault rifle.

Dave, “semi-automatic” basically means the weapon autoloads the next round from the magazine but only fires once each time the trigger is pulled.

Manual recocking is a different thing. A double action revolver does not require manual recocking. A trigger squeeze will raise the hammer to its firing position. For that matter, many pistols (as opposed to revolvers), Glocks for example, are DAO – double action only. Each time you pull the trigger, the hammer starts from its “down” position.

          • Cold War Grunt

@Jay — yes, I know what semi-automatic means to folks like you and I, but I appreciate you taking the time to respond (seriously) as it helps to illustrate the point I was attempting to make.

The problem is not what common sense tells us, it is what the law tells us. Hit your favorite search engine and ask it to “define ‘semi-automatic’ — you will be surprised what comes back. Do the same for ‘assault rifle’ (the term is actually based on the German word ‘ Sturmgewehr’, attributed to Hitler to describe the MtG 43/44.

The average, weapons illiterate individual uses ‘semi-automatic’ when they refer to any weapon that automatically feeds the next round from a detachable magazine, which is in actuality two different characteristics that can be used to categorize firearms.

The point is that those that would take away our 2nd, 9th and 10th amendment rights don’t care about being clear, it is our rights they are after … firearms are simply the physical manifestation thereof.

Why does Piers Morgan have a show? Nobody likes him, not even liberals (all the ones I know–and, living in California, I know plenty–can’t stand him).

  • Chris Ar

The only problem with all of this is that you CAN purchase weapons similar to the AR-15 at a supermarket, specifically Wal-Mart:

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mossberg-715T-Tactical-.22-LR-10RD-with-Carry-Handle/21567722

Please don’t quibble about this not being an AR-15 and Wal Mart technically not being a super market. I am a huge believer in 2nd Amendment rights, and I generally have no problem with these guns being on sale at Wal Mart. I am just arguing accuracy here.

    • Hiraghm

Walmart is not a supermarket. It HAS a supermarket inside. The guns are sold on the other side of the store.

It’s not select fire, it shoots pistol caliber rounds, therefore it’s not an AR-15. It needs to fire 5.56 NATO. LOOKING like an AR-15 is not the same as having the CAPABILITIES of an AR-15. You can get a b-b gun two rows over that looks just like an AR-15. I’ve seen squirt guns that look like AR-15s. Guess what? They aren’t AR-15s, either.

      • Ten31

The Walmart near me actually does carry a DPMS AR-15 capable of shooting .223/5.56 NATO. No, it does not have select fire so it is not an M16 or M4. But is is an AR-15. It also isn’t actually an assault rifle since it doesn’t have full auto capability. On the other hand, Piers Morgan is still an insufferable douche nozzle.

      • http://www.theconservativevoices.com/ dmacleo

        but it looks scawwy….
and thats all that matters, a few pieces of plastic and metal scare people because of how they look.

        • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

It’s funny, because when I was growing up, my little brother had all kinds of plastic toy guns, including one that looked like an assault rifle. He would run around the house, playing with them. Now he’s a U of WI graduate in psychology and music, and is in the Army Reserves. He wanted to be in the Marine Corps, but when he got jumped outside of high school, they fractured his cheekbone and the shelf that the eye sits on, and so had to have a titanium mesh put in, which I guess, disqualified him for the Marines. He’s married and lives in Florida, now.

    • Chris Ar

Who voted this down? It’s accurate. Are we conservatives just going to ignore facts? That’ll win elections, for sure!

      • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

A .22 long with a 10 round magazine is a decent varmint rifle, nothing else.

        • Cold War Grunt

Or hours of fun shooting at cans for very little money … I love my Ruger 10/22.

      • Mernaise

        It’s a .22lr look-alike. So it’s not accurate.
Still, it’s important not to get bogged down in insignificant or trivial issues like fighting about whether Wal-Mart is really a “supermarket.”
What does matter is that Morgan’s argument is immaterial and inane. The only response it merits is “so what?”

    • http://www.theconservativevoices.com/ dmacleo

if you think thats like an AR15 or, more importantly an M16, you might be a dumbass

      • v1cious

It doesn’t have to be a machine gun, you can still fire tons of rounds without reloading.

    • http://pennyrobinsonfanclub.net/ PennyRobinsonFanClub

If you want to argue accuracy, than you are inaccurate to call WalMart a “supermarket,” as it is clearly much more than that. It isn’t “technically” not a supermarket, it is NOT a supermarket.

You well know they must adhere to Federal and state regulations as any other firearms dealer. One must say with equal accuracy, then, that you can buy milk in a gun store.

I heard an interesting note this morning. AIDS kills 21,000 per year. Barring transfusions, and needles (hard drugs are already illegal) the number one cause of AIDS is homosexual sex. We should ban homosexual sex, and if someone wants to have homosexual sex, they need to go to a doctor, get a clean bill of health, obtain a permit, then they have a 5-10 day waiting period in order to engage in homosexual sex. Just sayin’.

Piers Morgan really needs to shut up. He’s been politicizing the shooting since day one and is using it as an excuse to push his liberal ideology and gun control. He has shown little respect for the victims and their families for doing that. Oh, and respecting the 2nd Amendment? If you push for gun control you’re clearly not respecting it. Cause gun control means to ban it from EVERYONE. Which goes against the amendment. No offense, but if he is so desperate for the USA to change, then why doesn’t he just go back to Britain where everything there fits his ideals better? We sure don’t want him anymore.

There are nations that chop you hand off if you are caught stealing, but not here. There are nations that imprison you for speaking against the authorities, but not here. There are nations that pass the blame on to the female victims of horrible assaults due to the fact that it might otherwise question male dominated status quo, but not here. I tend to believe one must actually be a citizen and have full rights to completely appreciate what it is that US citizenship affords one. I certainly have no respect for or validation of the opinions of non-citizens who rant and rail about what it means to have the freedoms, responsibilities and rights afforded by the 2nd Amendment. Their opinions are as meaningful as the blowing of the wind. And while I may not (absolutely positively do not) agree with those citizens who would trade their rights for the illusion of more “safety”, I understand fear and weakness, and I applaud them for at least exercising their right to speak their minds.

Walmart sells (sold) the AR-15. Maybe you guys should check your facts: http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_query=rifles&ic=16_0&Find=Find&search_constraint=0

I believe the term you are looking for is “supercenter”. A supermarket is more about food and household items. A supercenter, however, covers more departments, like clothing, pharmacy, banking, and so on.

“While I disagree w @piersmorgan on this issue I’d still invite him to learn more at my range & for BBQ after as he’s always been kind to me.”

Dana Loesch is awesome…….and I hope Piers takes her up on her offer!!

  • AttackOfTheKillerTomatos

I have never been to a supermarket that sells guns, nor have I even heard of a supermarket that sells guns. I really want to know where he shops, because I would like to see for myself.

Wal-Mart SuperCenter. Groceries on one side of the store, clothes, tires, electronics, guns and ammo just a few steps away on the other side of the story. All under one roof, no dividing walls. It totally ROCKS!! hehehehehe The wife can buy food and I can grab a few boxes of .40 cal for my stash. =)

How many children must die before we ban swimming pools? These senseless deaths must stop now! How many children die at the hands of alcoholics and meth-addicts? Have we ever considered banning alcohol in this country? Oh, wait. Maybe we should limit the ability for people to cook meth. Oh, wait. Never mind.

  • larrybud

Talk about deflecting the issue. “Where” someone buys a gun is irrelevant, especially since Lanza stole the guns from his mother.

C’mon Piers, man up, and tell everyone you’re actually for gun confiscation and a complete ban.

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    Mr. Morgan, I worked at TWO Supermarkets in the New York City Metro Area, and NEVER ONCE did I see guns OR Ammunition, but I did see some cool Cap Guns at the local Dollar stores… Your assertion is BULL$#!+! Jawamax 8<{D}

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    A piece of wisdom for ya, Piers… “Those who give up their freedom for security, deserve neither”-Benjamin Franklin YOU SIR HAVE NO BRAIN! Jawamax 8<{D}

Who actually listens to that limey git anyway? He’s NOT a citizen, so if he doesn’t like OUR United States, why the heck doesn’t he just GO HOME?!

  • JustLikeAnimals

Perhaps we’ll turn in one gun for every baby that isn’t murdered today by your pals on the militant brown shirt left. Otherwise, 1,200,000 babies senselessly murdered every year for over 40 years is a deafen sound and I can’t hear WTF you’re talking about.

Clear evidence of Piers’ unhinged-ness, although I am beginning to think this is all just for publicity at this point, in order to get people to tune into his pathetic TV show:

“What I do NOT respect is anyone’s ‘right’ to buy and use one of these weapons to slaughter innocent schoolchildren”

Um…. nobody has such a right, you FAT OAF. Killing is clearly illegal. You FAT OAF.

  • r_coplin2001

Can somebody tell me what supermarket he can buy an AR-15 as i know of no supermarket where you can buy an AR-15 or they just dont sell semi automatic rifles in supermarkets here in Sacramento Ca.Most people that shop at a supermarket shop for food and not any type of gun including an AR-15.

Morgan must have been shopping at one of the little grocery stores run by illegal aliens and funded by drug cartels as a front for their drug trade. They are all over Los Angeles, and no they don’t pay taxes, but you can get any illegal item you want and guns…and maybe some Mexican food as well. Morgan is a Moron!

This guy needs to go back to England and read a history book. Handled himself so well with Larry Pratt, a true professional. Got all bent when given facts and lost control yelling at the guy. This is journalism? If the British are coming again they better watch out. 300 million firearms say you won’t be successful. I bet he has an armed bodyguard like most who want to take our rights away. You should really leave the US you non-American making a living here, someone born here could use that job. Sick of British getting involved here. Go home and worship your queen.

“What I do NOT respect is anyone’s ‘right’ to buy and use one of these weapons to slaughter innocent schoolchildren” Ummm…nobody does. Glad to see you take such a strong stand on something everyone agrees with.
