Powerful video: 'Saturday Night Live' pays tribute to lives lost in Newtown; 'Sleep in heavenly peace'

“Saturday Night Live” opened the show last night with a powerful and moving tribute to the lives lost in the Newtown tragedy.

A children’s’ choir performed “Silent Night.”

And there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Indeed. Here is a video of the tribute with a warning: Grab tissues.

Powerful and moving. Well done, SNL.

Sleep in heavenly peace, angels.

As one person commented … “thank you for going outside your comfort zone to pay tribute” God bless them.. it just takes one to start, praying more will follow… My prayers to everyone affected by this horrible tragedy…

And then they got right back to the business of bashing conservatives, American Values and American Morality. SNL, like the rest of the main stream media and “entertainment” is not only a waste of time, but they are responsible for modifying our culture to one that devalues life, God, and all things civilized.

Meaningless. Patronizing. Insulting. SNL the week before: “And I killed all the white people. How great is that.” SNL long ago left its modicum of satire and comedy behind and joined the steady drip of cultural decay. They may not be the worst, but it’s all cumulative. Tom Cruise is delaying the opening of his movie out of respect for the victims. Why? If gratuitous, profit-making violence doesn’t affect a troubled mind or contribute to the desensitization of society, why delay the opening, Tom? After all, the oddest of them all, sadomasochist Tarantino is set to open his “kill all the white people” dung on Christmas Day. The greatest tribute to these innocents would be to stop rewarding vapid celebrities and sadomasochist film directors and video game creators who will use your money to finance lavish lifestyles replete with armed security to assure their safety, while hypocritically advocating gun control for everyone else.

100 percent agree! Noting that this show is done out of NYC, they need a City Nanny/Dictator to tell them what and how much to eat and drink.

This. The fact that SNL had that vitriolic BS on just last week, just illustrates the true hypocrisy of these dolts. Tarantino “creates” some of the most base, vile and disgusting “art” the world has ever seen, and they celebrate it.

    Skubala,

SNL followed this with with a skit on Princess Kate’s lady parts, and Samuel L. Jackson dropping the f-bomb and uttering ‘bullsh*t’ – SNL gets no credit from me for their show opening because of everything that followed… their usual weekly contribution to culture rot.

The children were beautiful. God knows everyone’s heart. Including Samuel Jackson’s.

  • twolaneflash

I would watch, but it’s SNL. I will not give a minute to attention-seeking ghouls.

  • Kaye

Touching, but I sure as hell hope Jamie Foxx was not there! I bet he is Celebrating the loss of WHITE innocent life! After all we wants to shoot all white people! Repulsed by th timing and his statement, if the ban the insane….Jamie would be the first to go!

Marty Short was funny last night; on the children singing, I thought it a nice touch, though they left Christ out of the song. Such is network tv.

      seriously?!

The children did a fabulous job but the adults didn’t. They played a politically correct non-religious version. No courage to play the real version and acknowledge the reason for CHRISTMAS.
Even the Sandy Hook teacher who sat with her students in the bathroom was afraid to mention prayer—until a little child suggested it.
Pray. It’s a basic human need.

Not buying it. This from the same crowd that makes fun of Trig Palin? Didn’t somebody talk about killing a bunch of white people last week on SNL? Well ask and ye shall receive, Jamie Foxxx.
