'A learning moment': Ga. Rep. Hank Johnson apologizes for 'midget'-mongering

Last night during a speech condemning Michigan’s new right-to-work legislation, the Democratic capsizing-island-phobe used a rather colorful metaphor to illustrate his point. The fight between the Michigan GOP and Big Labor was like an unfair cage match between a giant and … a midget. Needless to say, the “m-word” didn’t go over terribly well in politically correct circles, and Johnson apologized today in what can only be described as a beautiful trainwreck of a floor speech. Behold:

A true statesman, ladies and gents. And Twitterers had a field day with him:

Sincerely, a grateful nation.

when will the voters of georgia apologize for voting for hank “guam tipping over” johnson?

  • HARP2

He must have been thinking of his brain.

You would think that his Democrat brethern would have gagged ol’ Hank after his brilliant, though poorly thought out and realized idea that Guam might capsize.

But, no. They just let him keep on embarrass himself and them.

A riddle for Johnson. How many midgets(or little people) would it take to tip over Guam?

  • stuckinIL4now

Yes but can we still call an abnormally small-minded person like Hank Johnson a mental midget?

This and “lunatic” in the same week. This guy must have his own personal lobby intent on shielding him from criticism. What’s next, “hysterical”?
