Why the rush? Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to testify on Benghazi attacks Dec. 20

September 20th? That was almost certainly a typo on the part of CBS News’s Mark Knoller, but it’s too good to leave alone. After all, the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, took place on Sept. 11. September 20 would have been just two days after President Obama appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” to reassure viewers that the U.S. government had absolutely nothing to do with the production of “The Innocence of Muslims.”

When he did deign to interact with the press, the president told reporters he wanted to let the Benghazi investigation play out before jumping to conclusions. One election later, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has announced she’ll testify before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Dec. 20. There were hearings held in November, but Clinton was busy with a wine tasting in Australia. Just in time to beat the apocalypse, then.

More than a few have suggested that there’s no point in continuing the Benghazi investigation; after all, Obama won reelection, so what does it matter? The curious have some nagging questions, though.

Let’s hope nothing delays her testimony any further.

The irony is that Glen Doherty’s mom was the one whining about Romney mentioning her son. Er, yeah. How do you feel about the Obummer admin now, Mrs Doherty?

are we supposed to applaud or something?

Why not have her testify at midnight on Christmas Eve? That was good enough to ram the health care fiasco down the American throat.

Why is Hillary wearing her hair like a 18th century politician in the picture for this article?

I’m sure her testimony will truly be earth shattering. Well played, Mayans. Well played.

#Benghazi should be made into a game show with the cast of #Not Ready For Prime Time Players, i.e., Obama, Clinton, Rice, Panetta and Patreus. If we can’t get the truth from these a$$hats, the least we could do is embarrass the heck out of them. I don’t know who should mc the farce, but I’m pretty sure someone could suggest a winner.

I appreciate the sentiment for the preschool brigade but you have just disparaged the BEST cast SNL has ever had. IMHO.

If she wanted to tell us the truth, she could have done that at any time in the past 3 months. I’m pretty sure we’re just going to get lied to. Again.

She skipped the Sunday morning news shows, letting Susan Rice take the administration’s lies to the American people. A month later, while in Lima Peru of all places! she finally accepted responsibility, which evidently means zilch. Now she’s testifying before Congress a few days before Christmas, thinking everyone will be too busy with holiday preparations and travel to pay attention.

The thing is, this crap works! The public has not held her accountable in the least. Her popularity has soared to a 20 year high and pundits are all over her 2016 presidential run. I despair.

I would have voted for Hillary as Prez back in 2008 but after Benghazi I would never vote for her for anything.

And all the foot-dragging and lies are supposed to protect this abominable, traitorous “woman” from her well-paid job and its responsibilities, so Americans would dumbly vote for her in 2016?
    Fire this imposter now.

I just read that Mrs. Clinton fell and suffered a concussion, won’t be able to testify Thursday.
