Outspoken singer and gay rights activist Lady Gaga tweeted her thanks Friday to Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev for his opposition to a ban on “homosexual propaganda.”
Nine regions in Russia, including St. Petersburg, provide for fines of up to $150,000 for distributing information on homosexuality to minors. On Dec. 19, Russia’s parliament will take up the issue of a nationwide ban. Medvedev has said in interviews that “not all relations between people can be regulated by law.”
Prime Minister Medvedev please accept my gratitude I am looking forward to performing in RUSSIA & celebrating our cultures coming together—
