Dear Bob Costas: if alcohol was illegal, #Cowboys LB Jerry Brown would still be alive today.

Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Josh Brent was arrested today on a charge of intoxication manslaughter after a car accident this morning in Irving, Texas, took the life of practice-squad player Jerry Brown, a passenger in Brown’s car.
Sad news for the Illini #Family today. Jerry Brown, former Illini and current NFL player has passed away. Keep him in your prayers.—

USA Today reports:
Per a police statement, Brent was driving his car at a high rate of speed at 2:21 a.m. when he hit the outside curb on Route 114, causing the vehicle to flip at least once and then come to rest in the middle of a service road. Brown, a linebacker who was signed to the practice squad in October, was a passenger in the car. Brown was unresponsive on the scene and transferred to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Despite the tragedy, the Cowboys are scheduled to play Sunday in Cincinnati, and in light of last weekend’s gun-control sermon following the murder-suicide involving the Chiefs’ Jovan Belcher, some are wondering if another stern half-time lecture is in store from a certain sportscaster.

Hey #Costas. How long before you claim that Jerry Brown would still be with us if it weren't for the 21st Amendment? #toosoon? #fb—

Dear @NBCSports: Can we expect Bob Costas to tell us Jerry Brown would still be alive now if Josh Brent didn't have a drivers license? #tcot—

@ProducerSusan @kevinmccauley Remember it was the car's fault that Jerry Brown is dead. If there were no cars he would be alive! #Costas—

Wonder if Bob Costas will tell us Sunday night that if there were no cars Jerry Brown would still be with us today? #Douchebag—

This is the 21st Amendment's fault. The alcohol culture of pro athletics is too much. Without alcohol, Jerry Brown would be alive. #costas—

I hope @WhitlockJason, @piersmorgan, @rolandsmartin, and Bob Costas give as much attention to Jerry Brown as they did Belcher.—

What is the over/under Bob Costas will not say if Josh Brent didn't have a car Jerry Brown would be alive today?—

So will Bob Costas next talk about an 'alcohol culture in America' on SNF given the DUI that killed Cowboy's Jerry Brown?—
