Grammy nominations run political gamut from Michelle Obama to Rachel Maddow

Perhaps the president is fixing it. After all, first lady Michelle Obama this year garnered more Grammy nominations than Justin Bieber — that is, one. The audio version of Mrs. Obama’s book, “American Grown,” is up for the coveted Spoken Word award.

It might be time to expand the White House trophy room. If Michelle Obama wins, her Grammy will join the two already won by her husband for the audio versions of his two books, not to mention his Nobel Peace Prize.

We know, right?

Of course, the awards aren’t until February, so we’ll have to wait to see if the first lady can hold off the competition, which includes a diverse array of nominees ranging from Bill Clinton to Rachel Maddow. Before you go shouting about liberal bias, know that Ellen Degeneres is also up for the award, so there.

After we fall off the fiscal cliff, I can comfort myself with the sound of Michelle Obama’s voice. Given her husband’s handling of the economy, her next book should be called “American Grown and Broke.”

Grammy is a racist code word for Grandma. Those white people in the Grandma Foundation should be fired!

Grammy’s…another worthless award show. And who better to win a Grammy than our worthless POTUS’ fake wife. I’m sorry, really…but the nauseam is overwhelming. This is a cry for help, people. I seriously can’t take four more years of this. It’s like a British comedy. It would be hilarious if it wasn’t true, but the rediculousness(?) is daily, wait, hourly at times. Next year Biden will win a Tony for his ‘One Man Show’, ‘The Idiot Whisperer’.

Haven’t paid attention to the Oscars since George C. Scott won Best Actor for ‘Patton’. My utter disinterest in silly ass, meaningless Grammy Awards dates back even further.

same here…..who the heck watches the Grammys anyway?

    • rivers

Yep. LOL – remember the time Sean Penn said “actors have a responsibility because we know better”. Still chuckling…
But haven’t watched any awards show when at the post-9/11 Oscars in 2002, Tom Cruise claimed that what actors do matters “now more than ever.”
We shut the t.v. off without a word.

Recording a book for audio is now considered “spoken word”???

Is Maddow up for best male vocalist?

“Is there anything this family can’t do?”

Yes- Run a country, it seems.

I object to Rachel Maddow getting a nomination when Justin Bieber doesn’t get one. If they’re going to nominate a girl who looks like a boy, it’s only fair they nominate a boy who looks like a girl.

  • my preciousss!!

wait a few…she’ll be nominated for a nobel prize

“You’re great!” “No, you’re great!” “No, no, YOU’RE great!”
