Speaker Boehner snubs President Obama at White House holiday party

Speaker John Boehner took precious time out from purging conservatives from congressional finance committees to drop by the White House party last night. But it wasn’t so he could cozy up to President Obama. (Not publicly, at least.)

Heh. Boehner’s real reason for skipping a photo op with The One?

Binders full of photos! Cheeky.

  • irishgirl91

About damn time. Obama has never wanted to play nice and it has taken Boehner 4 flippin years to finally act like a leader. Too bad the mob has taken most of his power.

    • $24698634

Boehner doesn’t want a photo that can be used against him while he gives in.

    • Jazzee

a leader????????????? he is caving on everything
get the tape from obama in 2011 saying tax deductions/loopholes would bring in 1./2 trillion……..throw it in his damn face the idiot he is

  • Dandee

Pretty tired of this bunch of incompetents running through our cash whining and dining. Perhaps POTUS could buy a clue and not have so many Christmas parties and trees and Boehner sadly is doing a worse job than last time around. Guess he’s working on losing congress next.

    • Barb

POTUS caved in 2010! Boehner did that and will again this year! Blame the many uninformed people who voted for POTUS AGAIN for our economic woes!

    • Jazzee

here’s a new one….the guy boehner put in place on transportation thinks we should ‘look at raising the dang gas tax’ are these idiots serious??????????????????? disgusting jerks

  • Dandee

    And yes, I meant whining.

  • kayakingfatso

who cares. he’ll go right back to kissing his arse next week.

  • medicinewomantwo

    Good for him.

  • Emjay Grakykat

The snub came because they both showed up wearing the same outfit! I hear McConnell commented on Barack’s shoes being “slutty.” Those girls.

  • stuckinIL4now

Boehner may have several photos with POUTUS but can you ever really have enough replacement photos for the dart board?

  • Grumpa Grumpus

    Oh, PLEASE!

Smeagol replaces conservatives on various committees, then does a theatrical snubbing— and people say “about time he stood up to the Emperor!”??

    Are you NUTS?

    We’re done. There’s no point.

People can no longer discern between the important and the theater.

I’m tired. I’m going back to bed. There’s no point. Things really are hopeless.

    • TomJB

Nice! But if anyone is Smeagol, its Carville

  • fuskiegirl21

Yeah did that Christmas party cost us anther 4mill dollars just like his 20 day vacation in Hawaii? I’ve been to Hawaii a ton of times and never have I spent 4mill on a vacation. Appalling.

And why would he? Obama is the red tape to Boehner’s attempt at progress.

  • Juvenal451

Boehner owed Obama a counter proposal. It’s like asking for an “incomplete”then seeing the prof in the bar.

Just goes to show you that republicans can’t do anything gracefully.

    • Gallatin

Why should they? After obowmao care is done behind closed doors and then rammed through both houses the dimocrats deserve no respect.

      • http://twitter.com/hamybear Michael Hampton

Actually, the health care reform act was passed by both house and senate. That is how it became a law. Just because you don’t like the fact that republicans voted for it too doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

        • Gallatin

Name one Republican that voted for it.

          • http://twitter.com/hamybear Michael Hampton

Anh “Joseph” Cao, a Vietnamese-born former ethics teacher and Catholic seminarian was the one republican vote for it.

          • Gallatin

That is how it became a law. Just because you don’t like the fact that republicans voted for it too doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

You said Republicans (plural) in your post; making it sound like a bipartisan vote to pass obowmao care. I’m still waiting for your list of Republicans.

          • http://twitter.com/MoueLaMoue Moue La Moue (D)

In the house, of the total number of ‘Ayes’, there was a total of 220. That’s 219 Democrats and 1 Republican. There were 215 ‘Noes’, with 39 of them being Democrat and 176 being Republican. So, Mr. Hampton, please indicate … where the ‘plural’ in Republican comes from in regards to the House’s vote on The Affordable Healthcare Act for America. This taken directly from the House’s own Clerk website. Dated, 7-Nov-2009 at 11:16p.m. Which I am sure, means the time it was uploaded to the site itself.

          • Gallatin

Hmmm so the vote AGAINST obowmao care was more bipartisan than the vote for it.

        • Jazzee

OOPSIE not right check your facts mikey

  • Joseph Phillips

A real snub would’ve been to just stay home… I guess the presidential cocktail wieners are too yummy.

  • Grumpa Grumpus

Sneaker Speaker Smeagol is an example of what happens when you vote someone who has betrayed the principles he claimed to represent because you feared his opponent would be “worse”.

Emperor Dingleberry now has his helper to sink the Republicans, Conservatives Our Country, and US.

We can only blame ourselves for him. We created him, just as the DumperCrats created Dingleberry.

We’ve gotten what we deserve. The warnings were there: Arlene Sphincter, Olympia Snowjob, Good Ol’Jumpin’Jiminy Jeffords…

And we didn’t show them then that we could go elsewhere. Instead, when we talked about starting a party that would listen to us— we listened to people with a vested interest to mislead us and when they said “too hard to do”, we let ourselves be quelled.

I had more to say, but too discouraged and too tired.

Every day’s more tiring. Going to bed for the night.

  • proudhispanicconservative

Freaking Idiot boner, his big accomplishments as speaker are those parties, and his only fear of actually fighting Obama, is not being invited to those parties anymore.

  • proudhispanicconservative

    My letter to Boehner:

    Mr. Speaker,

I’m writing to let you know that I’m appalled at your recent action of dismissing conservatives from their committees. How dare you!

It’s the conservatives in this country that gave you the majority you enjoy today. It’s the conservatives in this country that you promised to represent. Now it’s the conservatives in this country you’re choosing to denigrate by your latest reprehensible action and alienate from the Republican Party.

We all know you would prefer to walk lockstep with Obama, giving in to his every whim. You have proven that repeatedly. However, that is NOT what you were elected for. You were elected to represent US, not your personal interests. We had great hopes for you. You have now soured that taste in our mouths.

I luckily do not live in your district, but you, Sir, are the Speaker of the House. The House that DOES represent me and every other American. What you have done is not in our best interests, but only in those of Obama.

And you wonder why Congress has a 16% approval rating. Your actions are the reason. Since you took the gavel you have done nothing to advance conservative principles. You flat out lied to Americans with your “contract”. You continue to lie virtually every time you open your mouth.

You, Sir, are unworthy of the position you hold.

    • Jazzee

and if they think support will be there for the 2014 senate races think again idiots boehner needs to be replaced NOW……………………….
