Good news for “Parks and Recreation” fans who also like Newt Gingrich: The former House Speaker will be making a cameo appearance on the show.

You might think this had been in the works for months, but no.

According to cast member Rob Lowe, ¬†Gingrich happened to walk by the comedy show’s set in downtown Indianapolis. On the spur of the moment, the cast and crew decided to create a new scene so that Gingrich could be included in the show.

Other tweeters confirmed Lowe’s account:

A few Twitter curmudgeons couldn’t set aside their political disagreements with Gingrich, not even for one moment:

People, chill. It’s just a TV comedy, for goodness sake.

That will be the ONLY time I watch …

  • Michael Hampton

Ha! I wonder if the scene they wrote for him involves him cheating on his wife repeatedly while she is in the hospital?

    • tjomac

Folks like you really need some new material as that is really old and not even factual.

      • Michael Hampton

And for someone who claims to be so conservative in your views, you quickly forgive a man of destroying several marriages.

        • tjomac

He has asked God to forgive him, openly and publicly, and several prominent pastors have spent time with Newt and feel that he is repentent. It would be wrong, as a Christian, to continue to hold this against him so many years after the fact, when he has professed his wrong doing and asked for forgiveness.

          But Clinton’s different, right?

You sure seem overly curious about where Newt puts his d!ck — especially considering you advocate for the government to stay out of people’s sex lives.

      • Michael Hampton

I don’t want to think about Newt even having genitals. I just think it is funny that you support a man who destroyed several marriages and then talk to how conservative you are and how the country is being taken over by perverts.

        • Angie (D)

Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

And I’ve never supported Newt nor said the country is being taking over by perverts — that must be more of that prog projection y’all are so good at spewing.

awww more tolerent commentary from the progressive left.

    • Kate

I think you’re referring to John Edwards.

      • Michael Hampton

        Newt did it first.

The Democrats patron saints are Clinton and pick a Kennedy any Kennedy.
        I might add…
