I don't understand why ESPN is glorifying Jovan Belcher. He murdered his innocent girlfriend in cold blood. Where's her recognition?

According to numerous Twitter users, ESPN ran a graphic last night or early this morning memorializing Jovan Belcher, the former NFL football player who murdered his girlfriend then committed suicide yesterday. Many Twitter users felt the tribute was inappropriate.
So disgusted right now. Come home and see @ESPN with a 'tribute' to Jovan Belcher reading 1985-2012. I'm dumbfounded at how warped this is.—

We wonder what, if anything, will be broadcast about Belcher at today’s Chiefs-Panthers game.
