Tim ‘TurboTax’ Geithner: ‘The economy now looks quite resilient,’ willing to go over fiscal cliff if no rate hike

Oh, dear. Someone sure needs to get out of his bubbles sometimes. Resilient? If by resilient he means massive layoffs, hiring freezes and business closures. Sadly, Timothy ‘TurboTax’ Geithner only pokes his head out of the bubble long enough to make the Sunday show spin rounds.

And, Twitter users weren’t impressed with his bumbling incompetence.

Indeed. Feast your eyes on some gems from Geithner.

Ask Herb, in human resources!

Fiscal cliff, shiscal cliff! They have class warfare to foment.

Since Twitter users are givers, they helpfully come up with some more delusional nonsense for Geithner to spout.

And this Twitter user is calling Geithner’s bluff.

Obama’s plans will cause us to plummet over a cliff regardless. But, hey, at least he has plenty of time to insert himself in yet another biography. Historic!

Put him in Rosa Park’s seat and send that bus over the cliff too.

    • Scott

Need to load it to capacity with more dems and some msm people first. Make sure it has plenty of gas to make over the cliff add Chris Wallace

Susan Rice Part 2. At least he’s a white male, so there’s that. The subject’s different, but the lies are just as infuriating.

Obama surrogates spewing nonsense on Sunday morning tv.
    It’s a thing.

  • GoSellCrazySomeplaceElse

Obama assumes that 53% of the people will believe his horses¢!? and he’s got his propaganda machine behind him. I seriously can’t take four more years of this.

Treasury sends out 32 tweets since 8:30 blaming Republicans for potential fall over the Fiscal Cliff – Seems to me I remember something like this as a child…. my sister would blame me for something she did and the parents would buy it because I was the mean big brother http://wp.me/pOe4O-cBi

I truly don’t understand the Dems. They should be lining up for the $2200 tax increase on everyone. That’s what Clinton had right??? Along with higher % on investments??

I mean they should know daddy government comes at a cost. Time to pony up unless of course you hate science, clean air and water and free women’s medical care.

They go against their own propaganda! My cousin the Democrat from the 70’s and 80’s said she wanted to pay more in taxes and she meant that. At least she knew that someone was going to pay. There is no “free lunch”. Never was and never will be. And my cousin never qualified as “rich” as defined so poorly by this administration. They sell crap and the people keep buying.

Agree — however, if they only let the GWB tax cuts expire for the wealthiest, the math is still wrong. In order for it to work, we’d need the Clinton era rates on everyone, Clinton era spending levels, and Clinton era employment/unemployment rates.

If you don’t duplicate the conditions, the results will not be the same. Yeah, get another 47+ billion out of the wealthiest over ten years, that will help.

Deficit today: $16.3T or thereabouts ..
Deficit 2020 (projected): $20T or thereabouts.

$47B over ten years is an average of $4.7B per year in increased revenue. That is roughly 4,255.3 years to pay off the deficit if it doesn’t increase after 2020.

Spend our way to prosperity will just make things worse, and we know, from history (say Japan, 1990-2010), that it doesn’t work.

Why should anyone who can’t navigate Turbo Tax be taken seriously on any issue related to taxes or the economy?

  • Belinda Henry

Sorry Republicans but someone has to say no to the children and Obama won’t do it. If it costs you your career to bad. Do it for our financial future.

Why trust a man who couldn’t read a sheet of paper stapled to a check that read:
The purpose of this check is to pay your taxes. This check is not a payment to you! DO NOT DEPOSIT THIS CHECK!
Please tender it DIRECTLY to the Internal Revenue Service.

And yes. It really said that, and again yes… he did deposit it.

This idiot was stone cold silent for 4 years. Now he can’t stop yapping. Someone push him over the cliff please!

  • http://www.facebook.com/katmwright Kathryn M Wright

Oh this is the Secretary who forgot to pay his own taxes. Tsk tsk. Maybe he can chip in double this time around. He is one of the rich elitists who do not know the common citizen’s plight in any economy.

  • RowdyRepublican

I just hope the GOP can drive the bus successfully, since the ball is in our court!

The only way this Marxist-socialist agenda of Obama’s stops is for the entire government to go hurdling over the so-called fiscal cliff. So let it go like a freight train. And let Barack Hussein play as much &^%$# golf as he wants. The more he is out of office, the more that nothing gets done, and more likely that we head over the cliff.

You see, over the cliff, you and I are going to be just fine. We work for our living. We buy our own food. We pay our own rent or mortgage. We buy our own phones. We’re providers. The ones who get slammed by this are the takers. And once the hog trough is broke and empty, they’ll have no choice but to get their collective sorry asses back to work or starve. Either way, it’s all good.

So I say, let the whole damn country do a Thelma and Louise, full speed ahead, 90 mph, right over the edge!

    And enjoy the ride, baby!!!!

  • Finrod Felagund

Tax and spend and blame, it’s the only thing liberals are good at.

  • JustLikeAnimals

Geithner is just another in a long, long line of malfeasant, incompetent, sycophantic miscreants that Barack Hussein surrounds himself with to make him feel superior and in control.

  • Discontentwliars

Has the MSM reported on POTUS Proposal, and actually analyzed it for the Public? If its such a wonderful thing, they should all get behind it, and force passage through public support. The Republicans can let it go, and just see where it takes the country. We only have 4 more years to go (unless the 3rd term option is played). We don’t need to work for 4 years anyway.

  • Lin Jarvis

This administration has so much contempt for this country and for its citizens, they don’t even try to make their lies plausible. Why is this little pipsqueak sent out to spout nonsense while the fearless leader is once again AWOL?
