John Boehner appoints Candice Miller as committee chair, is branded misogynist

Yesterday, Twitchy reported on a growing call from conservatives for House Majority Leader John Boehner to simply walk away from the White House’s “tax more, spend more” bid to avoid hitting the fiscal cliff. The logic behind that strategy? For one, many reason that Republicans will be saddled with the blame no matter what happens. If anyone doubts that fact of political life, today’s news from Capitol Hill provides a prime example.

Today Boehner announced that Rep. Candice Miller (R-Mich.) will chair the House Administration Committee. It’s not the most exciting development this week, but the media quickly found an angle: Boehner buckled under criticism that all GOP chairs were white men. But naming Miller chair would be a good thing then, right? Oh, so wrong.

For her part, Miller doesn’t sound like she takes the appointment as an insult.

President Obama was quick to come to the defense of U.N. Sec. Susan Rice, daring her critics to come after him instead. Will he call to console “token housekeeper” Miller and praise her for her extraordinary work? He could say something like this:

  • NumbuhOne

I guess the fact that all of Obama’s advisers are old, white guys except for a single “token” female is not an issue.

    • bobbie barnhill

This of course, is not true

      • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

Haha, it’s not? Okay, so 2 token females(Rice/Clinton). And a female master (Valerie Jarret) and a female linebacker (Michelle Obama).

If an incompetent, lying Susan Rice can be a nominee for SecState.
Why not have a woman chair the House Administration Committee?

If the Republicans nominated Einstien to the position, the Left would say it’s pandering to the Jewish vote.

If the Republicans nominated Fozzee Bear, They would scream that it’s pandering to PETA.

Typical and oh so very tiring Lib/Dem knee jerk reaction.

    • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

Yes, and it’s the fact that it’s overseeing the ‘House’… aka barefoot/pregnant meme, cleaning house, keeping house, etc etc… so of course the left will demonize the position.

In addition to ensuring that the House runs in an effective and efficient manner, the House Administration Committee is also charged with–listen up Dembeciles–the OVERSIGHT OF FEDERAL ELECTIONS dealing with election-related issues like voting systems and ELECTION REFORM. So I hope Rep. Miller cleans up all the rampant Dem-instigated election fraud of 2012 and gets those voting systems spic’n’span, along with the rest of the House operations, by ridding us of all the libturd Dembecile dead weight and the rest of the Dembecile garbage laying around there.

It really doesn’t matter what Representative Boehner does, it will be wrong in the eyes of the left. It will be racist, sexist, anti-semitic or some other politically incorrect move in their view simply because he has the big capital R behind his name. “Facts be damned, if he’s a Republican he’s wrong!”

Honestly, I find it difficult to get very exercised about anything the left says at this point. They’re in control at the moment so they can pretty much say anything they want, whether it has merit or not. I’ll proudly take up the mantle of loyal opposition, call them out when they lie, point out their inconsistencies (which are legion) and otherwise challenge them at every point.

Once this house of cards they’re building collapses, and it will, we can get on with the business of making government responsible and responsive to the real needs of the people. I just pray that the damage they’re doing can be repaired.

In the meantime, my heartfelt congratulations to Representative Miller. I have every confidence that she will acquit herself with aplomb and grace, making her constituents in Michigan feel their votes counted for something important.

Would they be saying this if Michele Bachmann were a chairperson? Or would they be too busy frothing at the mouth in the usual rage against minority conservatives?

    • Grandma HeadInjury

Only if she appointed a man to chair the committee. She’s such a sexist, Rethuglican tool…. /sarc

  • Kate

As a Michigan native, I extend congrats to Candice Miller!

Still waiting for Boehner to respect Michele Bachmann in some way. #AintGonnaHappen #SheHasMoreBallsThanHeDoes

Typical Progressives… beotch when we don’t have women in chair positions, beotch when we do… I wish the majority of the Republican party would ignore what the Left says, then they would STFU!

  • dwsmokin

Hey, the President is all for women-as long as it’s the RIGHT women. Democrat of course, and minority is even better (but still Dem). The GOP could have nothing but females and minorities in position of power and they would all be labeled “secretary, token, or Uncle Tom”. It is what it is-the Party of Hate vs, the GOP-looks like hatred has the lead.

  • Hiraghm

Who cares whether the GOP appoints women or not? Typical of the left, people are not individuals, they are cogs in whatever group-politics unit the left wants to use at the moment. Miller’s not a committee chair, no, she’s a female. Or if necessary for the left’s purposes, she’s white. Or, if useful, she’s old. Or, again if necessary, she’s Catholic/protestant/Jewish/Moslem/agnostic. She’s not Candice Miller, oh no, such a thing doesn’t exist. She’s just a composite of the various pigeonholes she can be stuffed into to benefit the progressive agenda.

    • Alex

      Nailed it!

  • michael s

Why should Pres Obama? She’s part of the enemy team.

  • medicinewomantwo

To hell with the fact she is a woman, can she afford her own birth control? I have been shown by by liberals to get the priorities in line, will she be interviewing with her lady parts?

  • Belinda Henry

Whatever happened to the idea of hiring a person based only on qualification.

  • Man of Little Means

For the 110th Congress Miller was appointed to continue her service on the House Armed Services Committee and was added to the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, which has jurisdiction over not only surface transportation but also water quality issues related to the Great Lakes. Miller was appointed to the House Committee on Homeland Security in March 2008 and has since left the House Armed Services Committee.

And for you morons out there who don’t wanna work you might wanna know She is one of only a few members in Congress whose highest level of education is a high school diploma
