Libs up in arms over male GOP committee chairs ignore Obama’s War on Women

Another day, another onslaught of lefty outrage. Liberals are feverishly brandishing their sexism cards over the news that the proposed chairs for GOP Congressional committees happen to be white men:

Boehner announces all white, all male GOP committee chair rec... on Twitpic

But while lefties are breathlessly crying racism and sexism at the GOP, they’ve managed to overlook one tiny little detail: almost all of Obama’s top advisers are white males.

Of what are arguably the ten top most important White House advisers, only one – Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett – is a woman. Jarrett is also African American.

But the other nine are each white men: Vice President Joe Biden; Senior Advisor David Plouffe; Chief of Staff Jack Lew; National Security Advisor Tom Donilon; Counselor to the President Pete Rouse; National Economic Council Director Gene Sperling; Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer; Acting OMB Director Jeffrey Zients; and Press Secretary Jay Carney.

White House Dossier’s Keith Koffler also points out that if the scope of the diversity lens is widened to include Obama’s top 24 close advisers, women make up less than a third of the total, and all but two of the remaining men are white. Hmmm … diversity for thee, but not for me? Sure looks that way.

Conservatives quickly called libs and President Lady Parts out on their hypocrisy:

Snort.

Heh. Perhaps President Obama could get some advice on hiring women from Mitt Romney at tomorrow’s lunch summit.

  • Steve_J

The critics aren’t Repbulicans, much less Conservatives, so why do they care?

  • http://twitter.com/crazytas1 ricci

was there ever a consideration on qualifications perhaps there were no woman qualified…….heck if i know, I do know the ones on the democratic side arent qualified to run my house let alone the house of the country

  • marcellucci

What was not pointed out was that ALL of O’Bama’s advisers DO have vaginas…..

  • goldenpipewrench

For the Democrats, of the group that now includes 24 advisers, one is Hispanic and seven are women. Republicans are fitting right back into the good-old boys network. This is not the way to win elections…

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Thomas-Collins/100000220517250 Thomas Collins

It’s not about pandering to different groups with token appointments, it’s about getting people who are capable of governing. Womens’ ability to govern begins and ends in the household, you know, women and children first. A cursory look at the function of the federal government since 1920 shows a trend towards the state doing what was once the province of the family. All the “women’s liberation” movement did was to make women dependent on government rather than husbands. They will regret that choice.

    • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

Not to mention, the Democrats voted in old white guys to take the place of minority GOP candidates.. as stated above, like Mia Love, Allen West, et. al.

  • alanwillingham

Excellent! It seem Liberals, Democrats and others will now actively encourage a diverse group of males and females of all ethnicities to become Republicans and seek leadership positions~!

  • patriot fan

Hello? The election is over! You can stop with the fake war on women bit!

    • http://www.facebook.com/david.morales.900 David Morales

no because the actually beleived there was a war on women

    • Streetiebird

The election’s over, the Republicans should stop proposing to take away women’s reproductive rights!

      • patriot fan

so what reproductive rights are the republicans wanting to take away from women exactly? I haven’t seen anything in the new about it.

        • Streetiebird

You may recall the GOP party platform of no abortions with no exceptions. Also de-funding women’s health programs, and wanting to completely de-fund Planned Parenthood. Do you want me to go on? They proposed over 1,000 restrictions on women’s health, including trans-vaginal ultrasound prior to abortion so the woman could be further mentally scarred by the already stressful and terrible process.

          • Ms.Bohmont

If you think it’s stressful and terrible for the woman…IMAGINE the horror suffered by the murdered child. When will the Left stop the war on the unborn? If you don’t want a baby…Keep it in your pants. Or buy birth control…But I’ve got my own bills to pay, so I don’t see why I should have to help pay for it for you!

          • EEKman

Because it’s what stops abortions, that’s why.

Ive never heard a pro-lifer actually describe what policies they support and how it would reduce abortions. The single most effective thing that has been found to reduce abortions is free access to birth control.

          • Ms.Bohmont

That’s simply not true. The single most effective thing to reduce abortions is abstinence. Let me draw you a picture…I’ve got glaucoma. (A condition, that I will have to deal with for the rest of my life, under no fault of my own.) You don’t see me whining all over the place, that the entire population should help me pay for my eyedrops, which would prevent blindness. Why the hell should they be forced contribute to your “sexytimes” maintenance?? It’s a matter of priorities. Liberal women “getting their groove on” is NOT a priority. Don’t want to get pregnant? Don’t have sex. Don’t want to get pregnant, but DO want to have sex? Buy your own damn birth control! I’m not sure why you can’t understand that!

          • EEKman

No, sorry It is true. People have sex. Abstinence has never worked as a policy, It didn’t even work in the bible, assuming you believe the Bible.

Besides, no one is asking you to pay for anyone’s birth control. Just that it be covered under health insurance.

          • Ms.Bohmont

You’re right. It hasn’t ever worked as a policy. But it IS the most effective form of abortion prevention.

Obamacare is asking me to pay for your birth control. I don’t require birth control, so it’s not like my rates are gonna go up because I’m using it. My rates are gonna go up because now I have to pay for yours. It’s about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. Take care of your business, if you’re gonna have sex.

I keep hearing “get the GOP out of my vagina”… Well guess what? That’s what the GOP wants too. I don’t want to be responsible for your actions. That’s on you. I’m pretty sure we were promised Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. I don’t see “free birth control” in there…. Get off your entitled ass, and take care of it for yourself. If you’re old enough to be having sex, you’re old enough to take responsibility.

          • EEKman

Sex is a basic human desire. It isnt going away. People have sex. Abstinence isn’t effective because no one does it.No one is going to do it unless you neuter everyone. Of all the things to complain about, free access to birth control is an amazing investment. It prevents abortion, unwanted pregnancies, reduces poverty, medicare expenditures, crime
rates over time. It actually would pay for itself many times over.

Btw. Penile implants are covered under medicare, which you do pay for, and are much more expensive than birth control, but there is no outrage over that, but then again it never was about reducing abortions, its about controlling women.

          • Ms.Bohmont

I agree. It’s a desire. So is my morning coffee and horror novel. I don’t expect you to purchase those for me. Again, and for the last time, because I’ve got better things to do than to waste my time talking to a brick wall (Yes. That would be you…) It’s not about desire, or nature, or the fact that people have sex. It’s about personal responsibility. It is not the public’s responsibility to chip into to coffers for “free” birth control. Nothing is EVER free. It’s just that the ones with their hands out, aren’t the ones paying for it. Have a good night…God bless…

          • EEKman

I’m not the brick wall. Pretending people don’t have sex and shaming them when they do is not an effective policy. Sorry. Free birth control would actually lower costs over time. Its better than FREE. Its a win-win investment. How much time and money do republicans waste writing redundant laws restricting abortion when the liberal solution is the most effective? Its really not about that though, its about some anachronistic biblical worldview that really has nothing to do with birth control or abortion.

The electorate has rejected this whole makers and takers theory. Everyone needs help at some point in their lives. Sometimes you’re a maker, paying into the system, and sometimes you’re a taker. Mitt Romney’s father was on welfare for a time remember? We’ve all agreed we are in this together. Why shouldn’t we want to take care of each other? You take care of famliy, you take care of your community, why not take care of your country?

          • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

Birth control is covered by health insurance for medically necessary reasons. Also, with a prescription, without insurance, a woman can go to Walmart or Target and get birth control for $12 for 90 days I believe.

          • Guest

No, the single most effective thing that can reduce abortions is abstinence.

          • Streetiebird

I believe abortion should be rare, but legal. And nobody is asking you to pay for it, no matter what Limbaugh tells you.

          • Vennoye

We are paying for it……have you not read the healthcare law!!

          • Garth Haycock

I commend you on your unlimited ignorance. Each time I think you can’t possibly post a comment that is more uninformed, you post again. It really is an impressive accomplishment, albeit one that doesn’t reflect well on you.

          • Streetiebird

I’m waiting for you to ever have a valid point.

          • Garth Haycock

That’s the best you can do?

          • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

Planned Parenthood only receives about 1/3 of their funding from the government. If that 1/3 was taken away they would still be able to function with revenue, investments and donations.

          • CherDash

If PP is such a great program, why don’t the people who agree with it support it from their own wallets? Like PBS & NPR, look at all the $ Sesame Street makes from merchandise. They don’t need my money.

          • Streetiebird

You don’t care about poor women, I get it.

          • CherDash

What part of ‘people who agree with infanticide can support PP, I shouldn’t have to’ don’t you understand?

          • mike_in_kosovo

You may recall the GOP party platform of no abortions with no exceptions.

No, I don’t recall that, because it wasn’t in the platform.

Not that I expected you to actually have *facts* instead of Huffinglue talking points.

      • Vennoye

Conservatives see women as whole individuals..much more than Democrats do. Democrats see women much like “ism” religions do. Only good for thinking about or having sex and having babies or not having babies. That is why their whole platform concerning women is about “lady” parts. Talk about back to the 1800’s!

        • Streetiebird

Awww how precious :) Trying to distance yourself from the GOP platform I see. They’re the ones trying to restrict women’s rights, not the Democrats.

          • Annabelle Smithson

Besides not wanting government funded contraception and abortion, as well as a pro-life stance, how in the h*ll are the republicans trying to restrict women’s rights? I am a woman, I am a republican and if my party were trying to strip me away rights guaranteed to me by the constitution ( not the lefts so called ‘rights’ concerning abortion and free contraception) you better believe that I would stand up to them. But guess what? They aren’t. So unless you are a woman, which I highly doubt, do me a favor and stay out of the ‘women’s rights’ issue because you don’t belong there.

          • Pater Tempus

“So unless you are a woman, which I highly doubt, do me a favor and stay out of the ‘women’s rights’ issue because you don’t belong there.”

            Wow, sexist much?

          • Zane Henry

The only distance here is that between the libtard talking points about what THEY perceive as the GOP platform and what the platform is in reality. But what else can you expect from the party of the low information voter. Congrats, the liberal elite were able to stack just enough morons to win an election.

          • Streetiebird

LOL what is the GOP platform on abortion then? I seem to recall them basically saying “No abortions, no exceptions” in their official party platform. But what can we expect from the party of the “trust me, I’ll tell you after the election” candidate.

          • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

Can you sight your source for the “no abortions, no exceptions” official party platform? And I hate to break it to you but we’re all waiting to hear from Obama and how he’s going to handle the budget etc.

          • Lin Jarvis

No budget, I think. Harry has budgetophobia

          • Streetiebird

            Sure thing: http://www.gop.com/2012-republican-platform_Renewing/
And Obama’s budget, since you’re still waiting for the rightwing media to show you what’s in it LOL: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2012/02/13/us/politics/2013-budget-proposal-graphic.html

          • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

RE: Obama’s budget from NYtimes (written in Feb. 2012) pretty little graphics but he still hasn’t proposed a budget and neither has the Sentate. I’m not waiting for the media to show me anything – I know how to do my own research. RE: No abortions, No exceptions – I’m aware of the party platform and what it says. Still waiting for you to sight where it says No abortions, No exceptions.

          • Streetiebird

LOL okay cool :) I’m waiting for you to show me where Rice is deserving of the current witch hunt. Also, the GOP platform says no abortions, and there are no exceptions listed, can you show me an exception?

“Numerous studies have shown that abortion endangers the health and well-being of women, and we stand firmly against it.” from http://www.gop.com/2012-republican-platform_Renewing/

          • mike_in_kosovo

Which is *NOT* equivalent to “no abortions, no exceptions”.

I would have said ‘nice try’, but it wasn’t…just your usual fail.

          • Lin Jarvis

My Personal platform right now is that the government should pay for birth control for libs if they will choose a permanent type. I suggest spaying and/or neutering.

          • Ms.Bohmont

What RIGHTS are being restricted? I keep hearing that Republicans want to “restrict” women…Tell me what RIGHTS do you have, that they want to take away?

          • Streetiebird

I’m not a woman, so none. If I were a woman, they would want to take away my right under the law to access a safe abortion.

          • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

Even if it was overturned by the supreme court, abortion would revert back to the individual state laws. So, if you need an abortion and they aren’t legal in your state you can go to a state that does say they are legal.

          • Streetiebird

Oh, you know what, if you don’t want an abortion, don’t get one 😀 Individual responsibility!!!

          • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

So what are you pointing out? How republicans feel about abortion? It’s not individual responsibility if it’s included in health care now is it?

          • CherDash

What about the individual responsibility to pay your own bills and your own way through life?

          • Streetiebird

Yeah, I’m owning that! Thanks Cher :)

          • Ponsonby_Britt

            Safe for whom?

          • CherDash

            Great question!

          • Lin Jarvis

They want the “right” to pick our pocket to pay for their promiscuous lifestyles and they don’t want us to protest the legal theft.

          • Vennoye

No, I am not “trying to distance myself from the GOP platform”, because I was not stupid enough to believe the made up lies about the platform to begin with. I leave believing the lies to herdthink lefties like you.

          • Lin Jarvis

Do you seriously think anyone wants you to reproduce?

      • CherDash

I don’t want to stop women from anything, their birth control or infanticide. I just want them doing it on their own dime.

    • Ashley Cowan

What do you mean there is no “War on Women”? Now that was a media thing, but it is kind of difficult to refute when you have Todd Akin, a now former representative of our government, claiming that a woman’s vagina can shut down a pregnancy if the rape is legitimate. Or when you have a political talk show host calling a law student a slut after she advocated for a birth control mandate that makes it so Birth control (which is used for health disorders) is now covered on insurance plans where it wasn’t before, but Viagra was. Look up the story of Lilly Ledbetter, I really don’t want to write that entire one out. But Obama passed an act to keep what happened to her from happening to any other women.

Please enlighten me on how what I have said above is fake.

  • Gallatin

Let me see if I got this right, the Republicans in the house were bashed immediately after the election for being a bunch of old white guys. Libturds bragged about how diverse they were. Now Republicans are being bashed for only finding old white guys to fill committee chairs in the house they control. So what are libturds saying that Republicans should appoint democrats to be committee chairs in order to be diverse? I have a better idea for you libturds don’t elect old white guys in opposition to Republican women and minority candidates—-Allen West, Martha McSalley, Mia Love.

    • Garth Haycock

Excellent point. The 4th District of Utah had a chance to send a black woman to Congress, but instead, the misogynistic racist Democrats voted in a white male.

      • Gallatin

It is simply mind numbing how libturds think, and that is probably all part of the plan.

      • Gallatin

It is simply mind numbing how libturds think, and that is probably all part of the plan.

  • FIRE THEM ALL- 2014

Even when you prove a Democrat wrong he/she will claim to be right, there is no war on women, and there is no racism in the Republican party, never has been. They freed the slaves, stopped the KKK and were responsible for civil rights. Seriously we need to fix our history books if minorities really think Dems are their friends.

My people were forcefully sterilized in the 50’s and 60’s on the reservations. They also went after blacks and poor people. Democrats are the party of Eugenics and racial tension the latter because it gets them votes.

    • therantinggeek

      Excellent post!

    • Teresa Davis McCormick

      Thanks for your post.

    • SOF Warrior

Outstanding response! It’s just too bad none of the MSM or liberal nut-jobs will be able to understand what you wrote without their heads exploding…always wishing!

    • Streetiebird

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I literally can’t stop laughing at the idea that there is no racism in the Republican party!!!! At least the Democrats have been progressive enough to stop living in the 50’s and 60’s, unlike the Republicans who want to go further back, maybe to the 1850’s.

      • Zane Henry

Did you lose your meds agan? You can keep polishing that old chestnut and it still won’t be true. Nobody wants to return to the 50’s. You sound like a petulant little child. Although, I think many might agree we sure could use a dose of 50’s work ethic. Progressivism is nothing more than the resurgence of the Fabian Socialists of the 1890’s. How’s that for sociopolitical regression?

        • Streetiebird

Cool story bro, 47% still eh?

          • Zane Henry

spectacular retort! Your participation ribbon is in the mail.

          • Streetiebird

            Awwww :)

        • Pater Tempus

Talk about regression….McCarthyism was discredited as a debate tactic 60 years ago.

    • EEKman

Yep, just read the history of Planned Parenthood and its founder

      Margaret Sanger.

“and there is no racism in the Republican party, never has been”
Go tell that to David Duke…….

      • mike_in_kosovo

Maybe we can have Kleagle Byrd give him the news.

    • Ashley Cowan

Partisanship is a dying cause. Both sides need to grow up and quit the “Democrats want everything handed to them and stop their whining about minority rights and blaming Bush when he isn’t in office anymore” or “Republicans are a bunch of ignorant and hypocritical white men, or women who spend too much time brainwashing themselves on fox news”. Seriously guys… “liberal nut jobs”? “right-wing nut jobs”? How bout the issues. Didn’t your parents ever teach you not to name call? Do you teach you children that same message? If name calling is wrong, and grouping people under a common, derogatory and inaccurate demographic is wrong then why is it all over this thread?

“When you prove a Democrat wrong he/she will claim to be right”… such certainty in those words. Words that say all Democrats are close-minded. Isn’t it close-minded to say such a thing? Both sides need to practice what they preach.

  • Jack Deth

    Bad idea!!!

Let the proto-femnist, ultra PC, DACOWITS (Defense Advisory Committee on Women In The Services) and ACLU win their case and put women in the trenches. And watch unit cohesion of those units and others disintegrate overnight.

Wait until the Muslim Brotherhood or Al Qaeda takes a female captive and uses her as a bargaining chip to pull US and NATO forces either back or out of wherever. When they aren’t raping said captive and putting the clips on YouTube,

That last scenario may be brutal, but I’m thinking like the enemy here.

  • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

It’s quite amazing that I’m sure committee chairs are voted upon, by both the House and Senate, and not appointed.

I could be wrong, regardless, however, whether appointed or voted upon, still requires approval from House/Senate members, amirite?

  • Streetiebird

Wow, such hard-hitting stuff. Obama is waging a war on women too!!! LOL
No back to preventing women from getting basic reproductive healthcare…

    • MoochsGuns

Well, why not? YOU are preventing me from getting basic digestive groceries.

Unless you decide to pay for them for me.

  • michael s

Pres Obama won the war on women. By SEVEN MILLION VOTES. Also he didn’t start it, Limbaugh did.

    • Zane Henry

No, he was able to win the war for the votes of single-issue voting women. Wonder how they’ll feel when they don’t get their freebies from President Boyfriend.

  • Ms.Bohmont

So…I clicked on both links… The one with “The Man Show”, and the whitehousedossier link. I think I know now why the Democrats think Obama is so diverse… you see, the whitehousedossier link has no photos of “old white men”. It’s all text…all black and white. SO diverse! There’s black…and there’s white! The libs need a picture book. Maybe one with some felt sheep or something… But they’d have to be black sheep…or that would be racist.

  • Grumpa Grumpus

President pays women 2/3 of what he pays men who work for him.

Romney paid women prevailing wage. Kept lists of well qualified in their field women executives to hire so their resumes wouldn’t get lost in the shuffle.

IOW: the Obamassiah’s all talk and theft.

Good to know those of you beating up Romney don’t really care about women— just papering-over reality to cover for the misogynist-in-chief.

    • Lin Jarvis

      Absolutely. Some talk. Others do.

  • TonyMitch

I am an independent and wold never vote for a democrat. How can blacks be soo frigin stupid to vote 90% of he time for a party that keeps them down. They love the idea that 72% of black children are born w/o a father around. It keeps them on the government dole and indebted to democrats for generations. Liberal white men are coming to the defense of Susan Rice as if she were a helpless twit. In reality that is what she is to white liberal males. Just as all minorities are. welcome to the liberal mindset.

STOP the Democrat’s war on the Republican’s war on Sandra Fluke’s war on Applebee’s war on Obamacare’s war on personal freedom and the free-market.

    Just STOP it!

Outrageously outraged about outrage (or something)….

    • Ashley Cowan

This is an extremely amusing comment. It is refreshing to see after all these other comments. While I disagree that Obamacare is fighting a war on personal freedoms and the free market, it at least has a form of substance and humor with which dialogue can be maintained. So while I humbly disagree, your wordplay was excellent.
