Hamas is wrecking Gaza with ‘friendly fire’

Many of the rockets fired by Hamas in the general direction of Israel are not professionally made, but are instead crudely fabricated “homemade” weapons, as noted by Hamas itself.

Many of these weapons are fired from the heavily-populated streets of Gaza City … and some seem to be falling back to earth inside Gaza, causing Palestinian civilian deaths and injuries.

One of the victims: four-year-old Mohammed Sadallah.

The child’s corpse was infamously held up by Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Kandil (on the left in the Associated Press photo below) in the presence of Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniyeh (on the right), who may have known his forces were responsible for the child’s death.

A CNN video blaming Israel for the boy’s death can be viewed here.

But as the UK Telegraph noted over the weekend, Sadallah was probably the victim of a Hamas rocket:

[T]here were signs on Saturday that not all the Palestinian casualties have been the result of Israeli air strikes. The highly publicised death of four-year-old Mohammed Sadallah appeared to have been the result of a misfiring home-made rocket, not a bomb dropped by Israel.

The child’s death on Friday figured prominently in media coverage after Hisham Kandil, the Egyptian prime minister, was filmed lifting his dead body out of an ambulance. “The boy, the martyr, whose blood is still on my hands and clothes, is something that we cannot keep silent about,” he said, before promising to defend the Palestinian people.

But experts from the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights who visited the site on Saturday said they believed that the explosion was caused by a Palestinian rocket.

To date, it does not appear that any international media have asked Haniyeh about the 216 Hamas weapons apparently fired into Gaza, or how many of the dead and injured in Gaza are the result of “friendly fire.”

More to the point, peace will come when they abandon wahibist extremist philosophy.

      • Garth Haycock

Actually, peace will finally come when all the terrorists are dead.

They will continue to vote for Obama, but at least they cannot fire rockets.

      GREAT post!

If Hamas was so deeply concerned about the lives of their children, perhaps they’d stop using them as shields.

  • ACGolf one

How much more do Americans have to see before they accept the premise that Hamas cares only for Hamas and its stated goal to kill us all.

    • Garth Haycock

Your comment would be accurate had you asked how much more do liberal Americans need to see before they accept that premise.

      • ACGolf one

And yours would be accurate if you didn’t address only a portion of the population. You are assuming that conservative Americans understand Hamas empirically. Hamas does not understand Hamas without the Ummah telling them what to do.

        • Garth Haycock

You may have inferred that I’m assuming there is an empirical understanding of Hamas by conservative Americans, but that is my fault for making such a broad statement, just as your broad statement that implied that all Americans don’t understand Hamas empirically.

My point is that conservatives are more inclined to support attacks to defeat Hamas than liberals.

          • ACGolf one

Having been born and raised in America and spending a year immersed in the Middle East for a year, 2004, there is much I do not understand about the thought processes there. However, I do know that we should be taking them at their word when they tell us that they want us dead.

          • Garth Haycock

I agree completely, which is why it angers me when Obama continues to say that the war on terror is over. No, the war on terror is not over until all the terrorists are dead, be it Hamas, al-Qaeda or any other group who is bent on destroying any and all who don’t think like they do.

    • Garth Haycock

Your comment would be accurate had you asked how much more do liberal Americans need to see before they accept that premise.

  • JoeMusgo

Either the rockets are launched into Israel and kill innocent Israeli citizens, or they fall back into Gaza killing Palestinians, in which case the Palestinian terrorists’ tools in the media like CNN will report it as the fault of Israel, giving the terrorists a propaganda victory. Since these barbarians place no value on life, either Israeli or Palestinian, it’s a win/win for them. Sick.

  • HARP2

Guess that`s why they don`t celebrate July 4th.

  • Streetiebird

Apparently the only source for rightwing analysis of this situation is the IDF…. Israel is truly the one “wrecking gaza” at the moment. Both sides need to stop this craziness. Israel is just using America as a pawn in their game.

    • HARP2

Grow up and do some research of your own instead of watching MSNBC.

      • Streetiebird

        I would never watch any 24-hour idiot-machine.

    • Dondalonda

“But experts from the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights who visited the site on Saturday said they believed that the explosion was caused by a Palestinian rocket.”
but it MUST be the IDF, right?

      • Streetiebird

I’m just saying, repeating what the IDF tweets verbatim seems bizarre on a site where conspiracy theory is the norm.

    • Sad Chestertonian

I know how tempting it is to try this type of unbiased perspective, but it is ultimately futile. It fails to see that wahibist philosophy is the root of all this evil, & breaking their faith in it is the only way Israel will ever stop the nightmare, but Israel is always restrained by well meaning fools who endlessly underestimate the fanatics, thus keeping the horror going for 40 years when it might have been over in a week.

      • Streetiebird

Wow, so you’d like to keep up this Apartheid in Israel because you think the opposing philosophy is “the root of all this evil”… dang. Good luck with that.

        • Sad Chestertonian

No, the root of this evil is in bleeding heart strangers who insist on interfering in a quarrel in such a way that will, at this rate, keep the bloodshed going indefinitely for hundreds of years to come. This is not your quarrel. Until the wahibist philosophy is replaced once again by the old Toledo interpretation of the Koran, there will be no chance of these particular Arabs tolerating Israel; they would impose an “Apartheid” 100 times crueler on the Jews if they had the power.

          • Streetiebird

            You’re a hard-core Zionist and anti-Muslim, got it.

          • Sad Chestertonian

Actually I very much dislike the poorly named “Zionist” philosophy, it tends to lead Jews from conservative religion. And I very much love non-wahibist Muslims, just as I love Christians who reject Fred Phelps and Jack Chick.

    • Garth Haycock

So we can now add anti-Semite to the list of what you are. Of course, you’re a liberal which is synonymous to anti-Semitic, so there really is no surprise.

      • Streetiebird

Just because I’m not a Zionist who only believes what the IDF tweets? LOL

        • Garth Haycock

So you think it’s funny to be an anti-Semetic reprobate?

          • Streetiebird

Just because I’m not a die-hard Zionist and Islamophobe like you doesn’t mean I’m anti-Semitic.

          • Guest

That you are denying it so fervently and making unfounded accusations of me, tells me that you are an anti-Semite. You’d garner more respect if you would stop lying and admit it.

  • my preciousss!!

what’s up with CNN doing propaganda video for hamas? ugghh! these hamas lapdog media is part of the problem.

    • Ken Alan Draper

CNN has always done propaganda for terrorists, communist dictators, & murderous thugs. as has CBS, NBC, ABC, The New York Times, etc, etc,The only difference is that today with talk radio & the net, is that they don’t control the distribution of information any more. The mainstream media has not come to grips with the information age.
