Former Bush adviser Karen Hughes: ‘I’ll cut out tongue of any GOP man commenting on rape’

Oh, yes, she did. She made those comments a couple of days ago, but it’s getting lots of buzz on Twitter today. See, former Bush adviser Karen Hughes has some advice for Republicans going forward. Men, stop talking about rape. Except to say that it’s a horrific, violent crime, always.

More from Politico:

“And if another Republican man says anything about rape other than it is a horrific, violent crime, I want to personally cut out his tongue. The college-age daughters of many of my friends voted for Obama because they were completely turned off by Neanderthal comments like the suggestion of “legitimate rape.”

Bingo! Of course, this only works if the press stops haranguing them with questions about rape. It’s quite apparent that lapdogs in the media grossly demagogue rape in order to get some “gotcha” moments and push a political agenda. Hey, why don’t they start asking President Obama about his actual extreme views on abortion like being a proponent of third trimester abortion and an opponent of Born Alive laws?

But, you know, that doesn’t fit the narrative. Right, lapdogs?

  • Josephine (D)

How about, instead of having the GOP establishment kowtow to pro-choicers on the so-called “rape exception”, try to give them a chance to explain that, although they did not articulate their words well, /all/ life is sacred and deserves protection, even if it’s conceived in a horrible situation? The Left just uses the rape exception to make abortion more okay. >.<

    • Liberal Hater

People who justify murdering of babies are evil. The Democrats can have the vile pieces of shit.

  • Steve_J

I don’t want to ever hear another word from GWB or GHWB or any of their advisers. They are in large part why were are in the position we are in today.

    • TugboatPhil

Yeah, Hughes bailed on Bush and left him with spineless worms that let him endure attacks for 6 years and never respond.

  • Emjay Graykat

The Bushes. GHWB, Clinton, GBW, and BO. Four generations of liberal presidents. One day conservatives will get the WH back, but it will be too late to do anything.

  • $24835958

She is right. Akins and Murdock lost this. 400,000 votes switched in 4 states. Any republican who supported those men are ignorant of political reality. Any small government conservative man who thinks the government should tell a rape victim what to do is a hypocrite. The pro-life crowd should have stuck with parental notification and second trimester. Instead, you went after rape victims and sounded ignorant. Scott Brown and Mitt Romney had to spend time in the media discussing rape. Let’s be honest about this. We have to be aware of the political realities and the media bias. Smart candidates don’t walk into traps. We need smarter candidates at the senate level. Stick with fiscal conservatives, and stop pushing big government on rape victims.I am a diehard republican, but I knew that Akins and Murdock alienated a big chunk of the fiscally conservative electorate.

    • kate_middleton

I agree. A candidate doesn’t want to go down that road. I get what Mourdock was saying – and it actually is a valid point (that a child conceived of rape is still a human life) – but Republicans have to be very cognizant of the media, way moreso than Dems. You can’t even try to articulate that because it gets reported out of context and you get killed over it. It’s a double-standard and it sucks – but the candidates have to be smarter about the things they say.

      • Grumpa Grumpus

No one could accuse me if being wishy-washy on rape. My generation was evenly divided on the question: is hanging too severe, or could we settle for castration?

But the point isn’t the MSM’s treatment: that is what it is. We need to fight the redefinition of every statement made by people who are fighting this cultural dissolution.

Where was iur chatty Ms Karen Hughes when there was time to thwart the MSM-Hollyweird narrative? Asking why the sudden concern from Oopsi Goldfinger and the rest who were sad because Roman Polaski only had that poor drugged kid once? And was the Republican talking about Rape-Rape?

What about the endorsement by Dingleberry™ of OWS — why did he wait until after the disclosure of wholesale Rape to endorse them?

Ms.Hughes couldn’t be bothered to have her nose disjointed over that!

Only a poorly worded statement from someone from the side she claims to have common cause with.

Well I don’t believe her! She’s obviously a “rending wolf” (Proggies can look it up.)

Both Bushs were gold plated disasters! In the PR field it is because of her and those who think emote like her!

The cowardice evidenced by those who cede to this emotional blackmail are going to find themselves painted into a corner— and that sooner rather than later.

We’re seing that already. No wonder the Progressives get traction, our side won’t fight!

Those who say the Dems are better politicians or more politically savy are laboring under a misappropriation fostered by Alinsky Tactics.

Progressives are simply better liars And that’s all.

They lie with the same ease a healthy man breaths. Unless we cut at that root, we’re wasting our efforts. It will be impossible to win.

The problem is, the political people on our side won’t confront that!

The Karen Hughes’ of the Republican party are sooo used to taking the “road of political expediency” they no longer can stand-up to Evil. So they attack and blame their own side. They don’t teach the concepts behind our Constitution because someone will be offended and that’s actual work– but worse than that– it’s unglamorous work!

And make no mistake: we are in a battle against Evil!
        Lest you think I overstate:
        Lying to deceive is Evil.
Stealing the fruits of another’s labor is Evil.
Enslaving the mind or the body is Evil.
Initiating contention, discord, discontent, riots, etc, for the sake of gaining power is Evil.
Murder (killing the Innocent) is Evil.

QED: we are in a war against Evil, and those who love Evil.

So why are we playing “Rah Rah for my side!” games when we are in a war?

I’ll support any who fight this war on my side. “R”, “D”, “X”, “Y”, “Z”— I don’t care! Read Geo. Washington’s Warning, that’s my feeling!

Yes, currently the concentration of Evil is in the DumperCrats court, but ppl! Our own” side is sabotaging our efforts! Whether they know it or not they’re double agents.

Use Christ’s Yardstick: “… By their fruits shall ye know them! Do men gather graps of thistles or figs of thorns?

        Please read Luke 6:43-45

        • Grumpa Grumpus

          misappropriation = misapprehension

I hate it when Shiro updates the keyboard. It takes weeks to find where it’s hashed the dictionary pointers!

If it wasn’t for the superior implementation of macros I’d switch to a different keyboard.

    • Liberal Hater

Look fucker, I’m not ignorant. I answer to one person only, and He demands I stand up for the weakest among us. That means not murdering innocent children and allowing the sanctioned murder of children to punish the actions of evilness. No fucking abortion, and I’m not fucking bending on it for YOU.

  • Marcy Cook

Good for her. It is unimaginable that any man would be so damn stupid that he would say anything but rape is a horrible crime and should be charged as if it was murder.

    • Steve_J

What about Whoopi Goldberg saying it wasn’t really “rape rape” when referring to Polanski?

      • TugboatPhil

We were thinking that at the same time, Steve. Will Hollywood condemn him now? I think we know the answer to that.

      • Marcy Cook

Absolutely Steve the hypocrisy is astounding. I’m not condoning that either. Everyone should be on the same page when it comes to rape and rape comments. BTW Whoopi is just a fly that I flick off my shoulder. Whoopi and her ilk are soon to reap what they sow.

        • jsolbakken

          Dear Marcy:

You are dumb if you haven’t figured out that it is ALWAYS about the hypocrisy. ALWAYS!!!!

      • Sonya A. Willis

The Polanski justifications are vile and quite disturbing. Usually they want to let him off the hook because he’s a “brilliant auteur.” Ugh. You can bet that those turning a blindside to Polanski likely have some dark secrets of their own.

      • Mary

GREAT point!!! WHERE were the left wing hacks when she spewed that!! I suppose to them child rape dosent count!!

    • $22091572

they should change the laws on rape.. if you go overseas some countries its
a life sentence.. others its the death penalty..

  • Grumpa Grumpus

    The Republican party us done.

Instead of fighting the Proggie’s twistings of every comment these “advisors” advise us to conceed
every time the Proggies do this.

I got sone news for you, Ms.BushAdvisor: absolutely any word or phrase can be twisted if the twisters care nothing about the truth!

    Even made-up words: “macaca” anyone?

As long as we cast our lot with the Asst. Progressives, we’ll be hip-deep in The Bushes. pun intended.

  • Randal Redder

She has a point. Any Republican should be smart enough to have a canned answer for this gotcha question. Should be rule 1 in the GOP candidate handbook.

Democrats are just way more politically savvy than Republicans… and they need to be, because they are unable to run on results of their ideas. They also have the media on their side, and will NNEEVVEER get a gotcha question from the liberal press.

  • $23629333

Let’s call a shovel a shovel. A lot of the young white women who voted – again – for Barack Obama did so for the sake of “appearances.” For them, voting for Mitt Romney was the equivalent of wearing sensible shoes. Doing so might have made sense practically, but would damage the impression their friends and co-workers or fellow students have of them – particularly Obama’s staunchest supporters.

Perhaps – for the sake of those women – there should have been a campaign suggesting that people should vote for Romney and tell anyone who asks that they voted for Obama. Now, that would have been a win-win situation for everybody – except the Democrats..

  • $24835958

This election was winnable. We lost it because stuffy men who rail against government regulations wanted government to regulate what a rape victim could do.

    • Liberal Hater

yeah, how AWFUL that men of faith stood up to murdering innocent children. AWFUL I SAY!

  • PennyRobinsonFanClub

I suppose that would include the statutory homosexual rape apparently committed by Elmo.

  • Patrick Ross

Perhaps demagogic media more interested in “gotcha” moments is an issue. Then again, Republicans could entirely avoid that particular problem by not nominating morons like Todd Akin for Senate. I hate to play to a LW stereotype and suggest that IQ tests should be mandatory. But…

  • vino veritas

So a liberal abortionist from the Bush admin (that’s a real shocker) is trying to intimidate conservative republicans into staying in lock step order with the GOP elite’s RINO mentality? Especially now that conservatives are coming out in force speaking out against the GOP’s constant sabotaging of conservative candidates on their ticket, who’s surprised here? I’ll give her my address and pay for her ticket to fly out here if she’s she’s such a badass, then come on & get me hag! One thing for sure is you will NEVER silence my opinion ON ANYTHING. Learn to love it, fascist, or go to China where you & your mentality belong.

  • Lidsamy

I think the 20 something’s that fled did so because they were too brainwashed to realize rape is rare, fiscal cliff falling, now a sure thing.
