Voter suppression outrage redux: Military absentee ballots are still not arriving

As Twitchy reported last month, Wisconsin was failing to send out military absentee ballots and numbers were down across-the-board in battleground states.

Unreal. What a way to thank our brave soldiers for their incredible service to this country. Go fight for us, and for freedom, but forget about that pesky fundamental right to vote. Voting? Military need not apply.

Outrageously, this continues.

Twitter users are reporting that military absentee ballots are not being received.

Unbelievable!

As we said before, our finest and bravest are being disenfranchised under Obama’s watch. This is more than a shameful disgrace.

This is an outrage.

This makes my blood boil. What can we do about it a day before the election? Anything besides just spreading the word?

    • Lexikin

VOTE! For those who can’t. Obummer will stop at nothing to win!

  • NOTFOOLED

If this isn’t voter suppression I don’t know what is where are the lawyers on this one

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ron-Maier/1737560000 Ron Maier

where are the UN suppression monitors, corrupt as they are

      • Guest

Really the UN show concern for our military?

My Mom was making calls for Romney in Colo, she got ahold of a service member who is stationed north of Chicago right now, as of Saturday, hadn’t gotten his ballot. She was told by her coordinator that they were letting the Romney campaign know.. This is so wrong on all accounts.

    • NiteCat

north of Chicago is where Great Lakes Navy base is located, that’s interesting news as that location should have no problem obtaining ballots from the Lake County, IL Clerk.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ron-Maier/1737560000 Ron Maier

So you can get a Colorado Absentee ballot from the Lake County, IL Clerk?

    • RogueRose

In Colorado servicemembers can request next day email ballots… But they have to be returned by mail. Should be ok if postmarked tomorrow.

“The improvement in numbers is attributed to a statewide project launched
in 2010 that allows overseas voters to receive next-day ballots
electronically and mail them back at their convenience.”

      • fivegreatkids

My son is overseas but not military. Sent in his form, checked overseas so they would e-mail the ballot to him and it showed up in OUR mailbox!! This is in a republican controlled county–pure stupidity–I hate to think what is happening to all of our military folk oveseas from democrat areas–will probably never get one.

        • redheadgrl

Just goes to show that gov’t sucks at pretty much everything.

  • Dio Heerai

If this is true why did the Romney campaign not make a big stink of it, THIS was sure to resonate with the public , seems like a HUGE missed opportunity.

    • http://twitter.com/Gogoette Ann Smith

I hear the Romney campaign has sued one state.

      They tried–nobody covered it

IF ANYBODY HAS A RIGHT TO VOTE IT IS OUR MILITARY PERSONNEL.IF THIS ELECTION ENDS IN A TIE THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO CAST THEIR VOTES TO BREAK IT, NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES. THEY DESERVE THIS IF IT WEREN’T FOR THEM WE WOULD NOT HAVE A RIGHT TO VOTE.

    • Richard

If it ends in a tie, the House of Reps pick the President, which will be Romney anyway. Only bad thing is, the Senate picks the Vice Pres.

      • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

Hmm Romney and Biden.. Yikes. Or worse yet: Romney as President and Obama as Veep. Or or Romney and Hillary. Poor Romney in all those cases.

      • coastie90

If that happens we can put Biden in chains in the basement of the White House. He is useless.

        • [email protected]

We should put him in a circus where he is more apt for the job.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Peggy-Powers/1352073815 Peggy Powers

Why is this happening? Every time it seems like we go through this. They need to FIRE whoever is in charge of this. It’s DISGRACEFUL!! And the orders probably came from the White House. They don’t want those votes counted.

    • sgb1

Gore tried to throw out military votes in Florida.

      • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

Gore also tried to throw out most of the other Florida counties that weren’t Palm Beach.

        • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

But yet Liberals still say Gore won the Popular Vote. BULL.

  • Brent Guthrie

Rumor has it, people affected by last week’s hurricane may be allowed to vote via e-mail. If that’s the case, our military should be allowed that opportunity as well. The downside to this: It wouldn’t be a secret ballot then.

    • sgb1

      Good point.

    • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

And E-mails can be tampered with or just magically disappear.

  • http://twitter.com/Gogoette Ann Smith

It’s time we have a law that says ANY state not getting their ballots to our military will not be counted nor their electoral votes until the military ballots are returned and counted.

    • rogueco

Sounds like just the sort of voter suppression the ACLU would sue the states over…. Oh wait, we’re not talking about illegal immigrants? never mind. Nothing to see here.

    • idalily

I agree. If we don’t know who won for two months, so be it. This needs to be stopped.

    • InGodITrustAlways

Excellent! This has be made law!

    • InGodITrustAlways

Excellent! This has be made law!

  • GirlsOnPolitics

Add my husband to the list of active duty military that didn’t get absentee ballots. Thankfully his training trip was cancelled and he can still vote. Those deployed and fighting for our freedom don’t have the same chance!

  • disqus_eric

Again, no first person accounts? No military person in this situation has twitter?

EVEN THE LIBERAL MEDIA ADMITS TO THIS HAPPENING , OF COURSE THEY SAY IT IS BUSHES FAULT !

    • http://twitter.com/who_me_too RadicalRebelWhoMeToo

      Here’s MY FIRST HAND ACCOUNT…
I have LIVED military voting issues my ENTIRE ADULT LIFE, the majority
      (15+years) spent OVERSEAS.
      Overseas
“voter registration offices” usually if at all, are a desk stuffed in
the third floor/or basement room, of an obscure building…
somewhere…. and that is at EUCOM!!!!
      Sometimes our war zone
deployed have better access to voting information than support overseas.
SUPPORT and their families, by the way, make up the MAJORITY of the
      deployed.
Voter information offices overseas are a JOKE!!! All the
“staff” does is hand you a WWW address or sometimes a post card-IF
THEY’RE AVAILABLE. PERIOD! There is ZERO internet access at the “voter
info offices” to access the WWW they hand you. No immediate registration
available. The BIGGEST joke of all…. WAIT FOR IT……. the “voter
info offices” are staff by LOCAL NATIONALS!!!!! JOKE!!! Local nationals
have LITTLE to NO information about our elections, besides opinion….
THEY HAND OUT A WWW ADDRESS! And don’t get me started on local
national’s “perceived” opinion of “WHO” US CITIZENS SHOULD VOTE FOR!!!
Local Nationals manning “voter offices” have NO PROBLEM interjecting
their aggressive opinions onto voters, especially young voters, to the
point of berating them in public. I have seen this behavior TIME &
TIME & TIME AGAIN!!! And to the conservative voter, WATCH OUT!!! The
hate is palpable! Republicans argue the military voters, especially
OVERSEAS, are disenfranchised- BECAUSE IT IS TRUE!!!!!!!!!! I LIVE IT!
Nothing like a bunch of Socialists running our “voter offices” overseas.
JOKE! JOKE of the HIGHEST ORDER!!! Contact your Congressmen! Our US
Military and their families DESERVE BETTER!!!

          As do you.

          • J. Cox

Just wow. What part of the state not sending ballots to the people who sent the required materials in on time is so hard for you to understand?Sending it in July would NOT make them all of a sudden remember to send yours, and 20,000 others that they somehow just happened to forget to send on time.But,yeah..keep calling us lazy and blaming the soldiers.Idiot

          • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

What part of they had to send them out 45 days before the election & people are just now raving about it do you not understand? If it was expected it 45 days ago why are all of the posts on here brand new? Where was the outrage at the end of September?! Almost all of the people posting on here have no clue about military life & think Obama is the first president that every single soldier hasn’t been able to vote under. This site isn’t just full of idiots it is full of bandwagoning jokes.

          • J. Cox

You are simply amazing.THEY SENT THEM OUT IN TIME.The STATE FAILED TO SEND THEM THE BALLOTS AFTERWARDS.How is that so fraking hard to understand?

You are right about this site having idiots..and you are newly crowned as the king of window lickers.Go eat some more paint chips and blather on about how if you weren’t so lazy…the state would have not forgotten to send you a ballot…even if you had your registration in on time.

          • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

Please introduce me to the person on this site that has said that THEY sent out their request on time? All I see is people calling names and saying this is Obama’s fault.

Too bad you missed your chance to have a respectful debate with someone that actually has the experience in the subject being debated. I am sure it is much easier to sit behind a computer, make fun, & call names than actually be involved in the world.

          • Penmar

No one on here said it was Obama’s fault, we said the states didn’t send them out in time. Go back to your troll hole.

          • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

Did you not read the comments on here? J. Cox quick! call this one out for having the reading level of a 5 year old!

          • Penmar

Well, That is not what he said, he said you can’t comprehend anything you read, there is a difference.

          • Penmar

Because this is the last in 4 discussions on the subject of Military Ballots. It’s not new, though this particular discussion on it is, so what part of we have been involved and discussing this for some time do YOU not understand?

      • dave lewis

        What part of

“LOL this is how Americans are now days. Complain about the results of your own laziness & then jump on a bandwagon.”

is your 1st person account? Sorry don’t see an account there, and neither do others. Someone can’t vote and they are lazy? Everyone is lying?

        • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

Yes lazy, complaining, bandwagoning Americans is definitely my experience. No. Someone who doesn’t request their absentee ballot early enough doesn’t get to vote. That is the law in these United States.

        • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

You edit like the liberal media….You totally left out ‘ When my husband was in the military (until last year) I always sent in our request in July & got them in plenty of time. You can’t expect to get a absentee ballot to and from Afghanistan in a few days.”

      • Penmar

You called a whole lot of military people just plain lazy because in your experience you were able to get your ballot so everyone else should be able to do the same, even though several people on here tried to explain to you that in several states they had not been mailed out. And what did you do, say again that you know lots of military people that aren’t lazy because they got their ballots too. So what did you expect?

        • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

What are you trying to say? Do you know these soldiers or any soldiers for that matter?

          • Penmar

What difference does it make if I know them or not? You didn’t have a problem calling them lazy and you don’t know them.

  • http://www.facebook.com/shelly.b.johnson1 Shelly Burgess Johnson

Fine, if that’s the way O wants to play…fly all the troops home to vote with a 3 day pass. It’s the “Right” thing to do!

If the spouse’s have a power of attorney. Wouldn’t that allow the spouse to vote for them? I’m not sure, but then they could go to the polls to vote. They should have the power attorney form with them though. The Obama administration planned this whole thing knowing the military wil not vote for him.

    • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

No a spouse with a power of attorney can not. So, you are saying that every military person got their ballots before we had ever heard the name Obama?

I did for each election for which I was registered to vote during my 20 years in the Navy (I retired in 2002).

been deployed twice never received an absentee ballot either, is it just me or are most of the soldiers being denied absentee ballots from liberal states?

  • https://twitter.com/AlessaRosewater Maria

This is unbelievable and illegal. Liberals will stoop to any level to make sure O is kept in the White House, even denying thousands of Military, Military dependents, Civilian Contractors, and I bet AAFES/NEX/MCX Exchange Associates (since our deployments were usually 6 months at the very least at a time) the right to vote. People who put their lives on the line to ensure we have a future. And we all took the same oath too. It’s just unreal..but it is real. The deadline for those of us in the CONUS plus Hawaii and Alaska should be as planned tomorrow, the 6th. We should wait to name a winner of the Election until the absentee ballots from overseas are distributed, sent back, and counted. Then we can declare a winner.

  • RogueRose

Elections are run by individual states. Colorado allows military to receive ballots by email and return by regular mail. This needs to be enacted in all states to get around dem run county voter suppression efforts. Our next project, starting Nov 7th.

Please, please double check your ballot to make sure the machine submits YOUR actual vote. Numerous reports of “uncalibrated” machines switching Romney vote to BO in mostly swing states.

LOL this is how Americans are now days. Complain about the results of your own laziness & then jump on a bandwagon. When my husband was in the military (until last year) I always sent in our request in July & got them in plenty of time. You can’t expect to get a absentee ballot to and from Afghanistan in a few days.

    • Ricky Spanish

Why do they even need to request a ballot? They should all be sent ballots

    • http://twitter.com/who_me_too RadicalRebelWhoMeToo

It isn’t about registering for ballots, it is about actually RECEIVING them. Glad you think this issue is hilarious… lol.

      • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

I think the outrage by people that have no clue what goes on is hilarious.

        • fivegreatkids

Sheila, I have spent the last two months fighting this. The request was sent in plenty of time. The response was the problem.

          • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

You are in the military and requested your ballot long enough ago to have been fighting for two months?! Finally someone that isn’t just yelling about something that they heard from someone else. Please share more of your story.

        • Penmar

So you think that because we are not the ones that have requested absentee ballots we have no right to be outraged or have a clue as to what is going on? By your defective logic, we Americans have no right to be outraged at anything unless we are directly experiencing the incident. We should all just stick our heads back in the sand and pretend it just didn’t happen? I think the fact that you find it perfectly ok to call members of the Military ‘lazy’ after they volunteer to give their lives in defense of you and your amazingly obtuse mind is repulsive.

    • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

I think it is funny because I lived around soldiers for 6 years. I know how they operate. The ones that take life seriously will have their absentee ballots. The ones that don’t, will complain about it at the last minute. Every single American citizen that wants an absentee ballot has to let the officials know that they need one. Some military people choose to register to vote where they currently live. My husband and I chose to stick with our home state. You cannot know what each soldier is going to do, so there is no way you can just send them all one…if you could even find out where they live, they move so much.
I take it that everyone that gave me the thumbs down would rather jump on a bandwagon than listen to a republican army wife share some facts.

      • http://twitter.com/who_me_too RadicalRebelWhoMeToo

I find it humorous that a “Republican” army wife is calling American Military “lazy”. This is NOT a laziness issue. Perhaps you are not up on current affairs. Here are a couple articles for you to peruse…

        http://www.ijreview.com/2012/10/17845-thousands-of-military-absentee-ballots-are-being-lost/

        http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/washington-whispers/2012/10/02/military-vote-missing-this-election–including-in-big-swing-states

        http://www.armytimes.com/news/2012/11/military-lost-absentee-ballots-110212/

        http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/senate/265925-gop-senators-thousands-of-ballots-unlikely-to-reach-military-voters

The list goes on and on…

And as a REPUBLICIAN, you should be OUTRAGED, since the US Military votes 60% conservative.

Instead of calling your fellow military families “LAZY” perhaps you should contact your Congressperson and find out WHY military members and their families are not receiving their BALLOTS.

        • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

I take it that you have never been involved with the military & I would be outraged if I had ever met someone that was on top of it & didn’t get their ballot.

          • J. Cox

You are nothing but a troll, and I am calling you a liar on the whole republican army wife bs.

          • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

LOL And you would be wrong. Good try. My husband spent 13 years in the army. 12 months in Afghanistan & 15 months in Iraq while I was loyally waiting for him. You should get to know some military people before you start trying to call them out when they present what can’t be seen on the internet. I only turned into a mass commenter when I realized that people on here had no clue what they were raving about.

          • Penmar

Well, Sheila, we do know what we are talking about, but you apparently don’t, and you certainly don’t know about absentee ballots and states that don’t mail them out so that the so called ‘lazy’ military people you are so fond of telling us about could get their ballots. And had you done a little research before spouting off, you might have realized that this has been a problem the so called ‘lazy’ military people have been demanding answers for about a month.

          • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

You all have yet to produce one on here. I stand by my lazy comment, but I must also add that they are not whiners. The ones that know they didn’t get around to it are going on with their lives. The only people that I have seen demanding answers are military wives/mothers that like drama and people that have probably never even shook the hand of a soldier. If any of you all cared about the military at all you would be getting involved in a get out the vote campaign for military in July when it counts. Not jumping on a website the day before the election and calling military wives idiots for saying that they sent in their request for a ballot in July. You all are hating on someone who hates 2 things, people who talk about the military but don’t really know anything about the people that make up the military, & people who make republicans look stupid.

          • Penmar

We have pointed you to the Army Times, the Navy Times and the Air Force Times, and numerous other links, they all pointed out everything we’ve been saying on here on Oct 12th. We gave you the links, all you had to do was click and read. So we have produced and all you’ve done is act like we never said a word about it. I can produce my DD214, lady, so don’t presume to tell me I know nothing about the Military, I can also produce my father’s numerous medals for service and pictures of him and myself in uniform and my husband who was in the Air Force, the Army, the National Guard and the Army Reserves. You are the only one on here that had the gall to insult the military with your insistence that they are just lazy whining pieces of crap in your small, minuscule mind. And had you bothered to search this site, you might have found there have been 4 discussions on the Military Voting and not receiving their ballots, the first three on Oct 2, 2012, the last being this one. And no we don’t hate you, we just think you are ignorant.

          • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

Notice the comment right below this…I got called an idiot for requesting my ballots in July, when before I ever showed up the article from Wisconsin clearly stated that military should expect their ballots no less than 45 days before the election( September).

      • Penmar

I lived around the military most of my life, which consists of 54 yrs worth, part of that was my own service in the military. I have moved more times than I care to remember, but at least 15 times and once you register to vote in a state, they most certainly know where you live and if you choose to remain registered in your home state, it would be your duty to change the address. But we aren’t talking about people not having the correct address in place, we are talking about ballots for those registered that were not mailed out until after the state’s deadline to mail them out. That is hugely different and has nothing to do with your insistence that it is because of incorrect addresses. You just got lucky in that your state mailed the ballots out in a timely manner. Nor should it matter where you choose to register to vote, it is the responsibility of the State to ensure that your ballots are mailed in time for you to respond and return them to the state. Wisconsin did not do this, a few other states were late mailing out their absentee ballots also and some are not allowing extra time for the late ballots to be returned. Some have as little as a week or two to get them back in time. And neither my father, 20 plus year army veteran, nor myself, a member of the US Air Force were ever lazy, thank you very much.

        • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

And did you get your absentee ballots? I know there are plenty who aren’t lazy & get their absentee ballots.

          • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

Why did I get 2 dislikes for saying that I know plenty of military that aren’t lazy and got their absentee ballots? You people are seriously confused.

          • Penmar

Let me help you out, here, because you just stated again, that you and the people you know that received your ballots are not lazy because you were able to get your ballots, but implied that all those people that didn’t receive their ballots are lazy. Completely disregarding the fact that the reason other people did not receive their ballots is because the States of Mississippi, Wisconsin, Vermont and Michigan did not mail them out until it was weeks past the deadline by which they are required by law to mail out the ballots.

          • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

And you just listed my home state! I am here to tell you I never had a problem with my home state & you all are hating me for it because I’m not on your bandwagon. I am also realizing that the people on here don’t even know a single soldier that requested a ballot on time & didn’t get it. Guess you are going to have to go with my first hand account & I have never had a problem.

          • Penmar

Well, I guess you are just so darn special! I had a boyfriend like you once, could not have a decent intelligent discussion with him to save my life, he lasted all of two weeks then I just couldn’t take it anymore.

          • rbtpowell

A conciliatory post when you can’t prattle your way out …does not mitigate the fact you are either lying or simply clueless….you talk about rational debate, though you have yet to respond to the crux of the complaint….the ballots were not sent. How is that the responsibility of those requesting them?

          • Penmar

I did get my absentee ballots, those years I requested one, but then I was not requesting them from the State of Wisconsin or Vermont or Mississippi or Michigan. DOJ filed against Vermont, Romney filed against Wisconsin. The lawmakers’ letter cited reports that jurisdictions in Vermont, Michigan, Mississippi and Wisconsin had failed to mail absentee ballots to service members by the Sept. 22, 2012, deadline established by the MOVE Act. That date, 45 days before the Nov. 6 elections, is designed to give military members and their family members who vote by absentee ballot — either within the U.S. or overseas — as well as U.S. citizens living overseas a reasonable time window to receive and return their ballots. So to say because you received yours in a timely manner that those that didn’t were perhaps too lazy to correct their address or too lazy to request one early enough is why they didn’t receive their ballots is why most people on here are a bit upset with you. You made an assumption based not on the facts of the situation but your feelings on the situation.

Please point me to the page where everyone was mad like you all are in September when they noticed that this wasn’t happening & not the day before the election. You also apparently missed the person that called ME an idiot for requesting my ballot in July.

    • Penmar

Well, the requests were sent in early and before the deadline, it was the state of Wisconsin among others that didn’t send them out before their deadline said they had to do so and it was the State of Wisconsin that refused to extend the time the absentee ballots could be returned. If this had happened to you I can promise you wouldn’t have gotten them signed and back in time.

      • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

I would have noticed at the end of September that they hadn’t shown up. Why all of the outrage today? Where were all of these bandwagoners at the end of September?! I have been called an Idiot on for saying I sent my request for absentees in July. If I was an idiot for sending mine in July what are the people that are just noticing on November 5th that they didn’t get their ballots at the end of September? I am convinced that almost everyone on here has never voted by absentee or been in the military.

        • Penmar

People are not just noticing now, they noticed way back at the beginning of October, just because it is only now being mentioned on here, doesn’t mean it wasn’t noticed. And it is being made a big deal of because even though the states said they mailed them out eventually, the people, military included have not received theirs yet.

          • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

Please point me to where you tried to help in October.

          • Penmar

What exactly would you suggest I do, other than speak with my Senator and Congressman? Especially since I am not a resident of any of the states that mailed their ballots out late?

    • http://www.theconservativevoices.com/ dmacleo

how can something be requested and sent before its prepared?
they were not ready in July.
      idiot.

      • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

This hilarious! You have obviously never been in the military and requested an absentee ballot…or you are one of the ones screaming that you didn’t get yours on time.

  • Wilson Sheffield

Please, please double check your ballot to make sure the machine submits YOUR actual vote. Numerous reports of “uncalibrated” machines switching Romney vote to BO in mostly swing states.

  • coastie90

Democrat plan to disenfranchise military voters because 60% will vote Republican.

  • coastie90

I was voting assistance officer while in the USCG during the 1980’s. We didn’t have these problems. I was always able to vote absentee ballot from 1969 until I retired..

  • Sherry Elias

The administration isn’t going to make sure that our servicemen and womens’ votes are counted because they have no vested interest in what they have to say. This administration knows they do not have the support of the majority of these voters. After all, it was this administration who chose to let those two ex navy seals die all alone in Bengazi Libya. When Obama called on the soldiers to go ahead and take Osama Bin Laden out, they answered that call. When those two ex Navy seals called their president and asked for someone to back them up, where was he? God Bless Our Military and God Bless America.

  • Pledum

My son is in the Air Force and stationed out of his home state. He received his sample ballot, but not the official ballot. I absolutely believe that this is voter suppression. They are scared to death of what the troops REALLY feel about this administration!

  • EastValleyConservative

I would say unbelievable….but this is par for the course on Democrat grounds. Disenfranchise the military—leave them behind in Benghazi, leave them behind on election day. DISGRACEFUL.

  • http://twitter.com/Stimulus4U Marty Luther

There ALWAYS seems to be a problem either getting ballots to them or from them. Probably just a glitch, if glitch means the Democrats are again screwing the military.

  • http://www.moralmatters.org/ NathanMBickel

Romney’s lawyers need to rectify this should he closely lose the election because in one of these battleground states, the military vote would have spelled the victory difference.

What’s going on with military votes being suppressed, is absolutely, inexcusable!

  • http://twitter.com/DaffodilTimes The Daffodil Times

Oh please, if anyone really is trying to suppress their vote, it is Republican voter suppression groups. They (Republicans) figure if soldiers can’t get a ballot to vote to re-elect the guy that is going to bring them all home (Obama), they can’t vote at all.

    • J. Cox

Please post some links showing Republicans trying to suppress voters.I know you can’t,because you are a brain dead O-bot trolling.

      • http://twitter.com/DaffodilTimes The Daffodil Times

I’d post them, but you don’t believe anything that doesn’t come from some wackjob conservative blog masquerading as a real news site.

        • J. Cox

Again..I am asking to see some actual evidence. The only link you have provided ever was a huffpo oped piece, and claimed it as truth.Troll

          • http://twitter.com/DaffodilTimes The Daffodil Times

You’re on a computer so I assume you have access to Google. Lol A huffpo op-ed is truer than a Faux News report any day.

          • J. Cox

Way to avoid the issue troll.

          • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

I get it now! The definition of troll to you is anyone that disagrees with you! That makes more sense.

          • Penmar

No actually a troll is someone who pretends to be a conservative when in reality they are lying and are really liberal pea brains.

          • Penmar

How many times has CNN edited video and audio and been caught at it? How about that wonderful 60 minutes interview, where they just happened to edit out the part about terrorism not being mentioned concerning Benghazi?

    • http://www.theconservativevoices.com/ dmacleo

must really suck that all soldiers coming home are doing it because of status of forces agreements drawn up under bush huh?
      gonna blame bush now?
      you’re a disingenuous bastard.

    • Penmar

Troll, after Benghazi, you’d be hard pressed to find a solider that would want to be under Obama’s command for another 4 years.

      • rbtpowell

Truer words have not been spoken………..

  • Sandra Meyer

the military will be the last to vote because Obama knows what a bad job he has done and most military and their families want to have health care and proper military equipment. With obmama it won’t happen.

  • http://twitter.com/CDChambers62 Chris Chambers

This is not a new problem. I recently retired from the US Army and am prior Navy, and spent half my 20 years away from “home” (“Home of Record”, not where I hung my hat). It takes a long time to get an absentee ballot to an APO of FPO, and even longer to get it to Iraq or Afghanistan (spent a year in Iraq, and missed the ’04 primary, leaving country….no worries, I was getting out of Iraq so that was OK). It is a slow process, and cleaning up the voter rolls means if you miss 2 general elections in a row (in most states at least) you are scrubbed off the rolls as a non-voter….
I don’t know what the solution is. The Army only gives lip service to supporting absentee voting; in most commands there is not any real support or follow up regarding absentee voting.

    • http://www.facebook.com/jssheila Sheila Billings

This is a good, educated reply! If people really cared they wouldn’t be yelling about it being Obama’s fault…This site is just a bunch of people that would rather yell about the bandwagon of the moment then realize true issues.

      • rbtpowell

Another brain dead liberal…..completely missing the point, if an issue does not immediately affect your ability to get your hands in your neighbors pockets….its no big deal.

if NY, NJ can consider email ballots and other adjustments due to hardship, why not for the military as well? I have never understood why this is so hard for the states to take care of! Military voters have always had trouble getting ballots even 20 plus years ago when I was an XO of a company! Unbelievable then, still is today!

If NJ can allow their citizens to vote by email and fax, why can’t the military? We must fix this once and for all. It’s a national disgrace that our military are being disenfranchised like this.

  • sue

There was outrage over a convicted felon not being allowed to vote but none about our brave soldiers being dis-enfranchised. It’s not the first time. It has happened several times; yet in Ohio there was a fight against giving the military extra time to vote! Have any of you knuckleheads ever heard of “deployment”? Do you have even the slightest notion what that means? Fed Ex and UPS are not doing special deliveries for them. Nope, it’s the good ol’ Armed Forces snafus, I’m sure. It ain’t like they have real coherent “change of address” notification from one tent compound to the next! Haven’t you heard, they’re being shot at? Come on, at least send their ballots out or let them vote by some other means. As for the guy having to come vote, in person, in WI, is this poll-worker for real? This one should definitely be written-up for voter disenfranchisement! If anyone should be given special accommodation, it’s our military service members!

  • marcellucci

If O’Bama can take credit for a pinpoint strike against OsamaBinLaden…..
…then he can take credit for not being able to get a piece of paper to a soldier to vote……
O’Bama’s new book should be “The Audacity of Nope”……

  • Terry Murphy

There has to be a way of getting the military absentee ballots counted before the election is made “official”. It’s criminal that this is happening. The people responsible should be held accountable as such. I’m sure whoever loses will be turning to the courts to invalidate results. Someone should be turning to the courts to make sure our troops’ voices are counted.

IF those in NJ and other places can vote via EMAIL and FAX why not our military.. EVERYONE should start calling their reps/senators and OBAMA’S Chicago office and DEMAND the military be allowed to vote that way and their votes be counted ..

Man, thank God there are smart people in America that knows and understands whats going on. If we had to rely on the other bunch, man America would be in trouble, more trouble than what Bush left us. My hat goes off to DEMOCRATES, thank you Lord God and Jesus !!!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/richard.olivier.14 Richard Olivier

I am going to do what Republicans do,say something I haven’t checked out for a fact, All those states have Republican Governors. Man, my first time, not as good as my first time with a girl, but good. nOW i KNOW WHY rEPUBLICANS JUST SHOOT OFF THIER MOUTHS WITH OUT THE FACTS TO SUPPORT THIER CLAMS, HECK IT TAKE LESS TIME AND IT’S EASIER THAN RESEARCHING FOR FACTS AND IT DOES FEEL GOOD ! Republicans, be careful, this could become addictive, what’s that, you already are?….Nawww, not you Christians of the Family Values Church. Sinning and lieing is in the mind of the Sinner and Liar. Republicans have thier own Mind, and don’t mind Sinning and Lieing because thiers are excused and they deserve it, ask them !! Getting ready for the big Victory Party, you coming !!

My daughter who is currently in Air Force Basic Training, applied for her absentee ballot weeks ago. It showed up FedEx at my doorstep today, the day before election day instead of going to her at Lackland AFB. Thanks a whole lot, Clark County, NV. My daughter’s first time eligible to vote in a General Election, and you ruined it.

  • Robert H Parker

This is a complete outrage!!!! Is there anything that we the people can do to make sure those willing to shed their blood for America are given their right to vote and it be counted??!!!!
What sickens me t most is te blood te are willing to shed, is also shed fr these libs who dont want to hear them and are willing to shed their blood to cover up their lie and dirty deeds…

Our founding fathers would have never stod for this disgrace!!

  • http://twitter.com/Marcus_Porcius Marcus Porcius

Let this be a lesson to you. If you don’t vote for Obama, you just don’t get to vote at all!

    Heil Soetoro!

  • American Avant Garde

One thing is clear. If Obama wins, and the margin of difference could have been covered by Republican military voters he will have pissed off some people he doesn’t want as enemies. If the courts fail to address this issue he may have to be removed via extra-judicial means.

  • TomJB

I am the voting officer for my company. I can’t speak for the other services, but the Army has been pushing voting very hard. There is the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot available online that can be used in the event a ballot was not sent or was not sent in time. For about half the states, they can register with this as well. They send that in, then if they end up receiving their state’s official ballot and they send that in, they discard the FWAB. It is a good work-around a state’s incompetence or negligence. If they did not receive information about this, it is the fault of their chain of command.

  • Mark James

Absolutely disgusting! What in the hell has happened to this country that this kind of fraud is happening and worse than that, they’ll probably get away with it. I will definitely contact my elected officials – oh! wait a minute – I don’t really think that ole Dianne Feinstein or Barbara Boxer or good ole boy Jerry Brown will probably care too much. That right there IS the problem – our elected government does NOT represent WE THE PEOPLE, they represent THEIR party and THEIR OWN interests. I agree with Ann Smith, if our military doesn’t get to vote, do not count the electoral votes for each state until ALL military ballots are returned.

  • RubyHeart

I want to know why the Sandy victims were allowed to vote by email but our military still have to rely on paper ballots that can get “delayed” by plane crashes and red tape!

  • disqus_CLxBMCqWxR

I completely agree that their votes should be counted, but there are approximately 255,000 troops overseas, so even if 100% of them voted for Romney, they would ALL have to be from one state to impact the electoral college number, and it would still be an Obama win. (FL 52,000, OH 104,000, VA 116,000, WI 200,000), without OH, VA & FL Obama has 272 electoral votes.
