Will we comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable under President Obama, or do the exact opposite under President Romney?

Former Clinton Labor Secretary Robert B. Reich is getting awfully philosophical — emphasis on awfully — as the polls turn in favor of Mitt Romney. Now he’s reviving the old line often attributed to community organizer “Mother” Mary Jones to express his wish for another four years of Obama and his quest to afflict the comfortable. We didn’t think it was government’s job to afflict anyone, but we admit to being bitter clingers to the Constitution.
@RBReich Why should the government afflict the comfortable? Where is that in the constitution? @instapundit @twitchyteam—

@RBReich It's not the government's job to "afflict" anybody, short stuff. Besides, Obama's afflicting pretty much everybody.—

@RBReich Who do you think comforts the afflicted? The "comfortable" give to charity, r generous, volunteer, etc. Obama isnt comforting any1.—

@RBReich Any government that actively seeks to afflict any of its citizens is a government that is worthy of revolution. #LittleManComplex—

.@RBReich AFFLICT THE COMFORTABLE! RE-ELECT THE PRESIDENT!—

@RBReich Afflict the comfortable? Gosh, I really want to vote for the President now, what an inspirational message.—

@RBReich We will always comfort the afflicted, out of our own good nature, voluntarily, not because the government tells us to.—

The job of government isn't to exact your will to power, your aesthetics, or your private theory of cosmic justice @rbreich—
Jonah Goldberg (@JonahNRO) October 30, 2012
It is because people fear that Obama might agree with @Rbreich that the tea party exists.—
Jonah Goldberg (@JonahNRO) October 30, 2012
@JonahNRO @rbreich Correction-it's because we KNOW Obama agrees with him.—
Eric Faulkner (@esfaulkner) October 30, 2012
@RBReich. Since when is afflicting the comfortable a legitimate function of government?—
Stephen Webb (@Webby124) October 30, 2012
.@RBReich Dude, I think you sat on your iPhone and you're pocket tweeting with it set to cliche. cc @JonahNRO—

@RBReich Romney gave more to charity in 2011 then both O and Biden combined. That's where it needs to come from…not government handouts!—
Brent Schneider (@bschneid0) October 30, 2012
@RBReich Absorbing deep thoughts like that made Obama the empty suit he is today.—

It's official: @rbreich has lost Twitter.—

Reich found time to politicize Hurricane Sandy as well. But if we’re all in this together, who’s going to be doing the afflicting?
Whether it's a hurricane or everyday life, basic question is are we all in this together or is each on his own? That's the choice on 11/6.—
Robert Reich (@RBReich) October 30, 2012
.@RBReich You are a horrible person.—
Jon G. (@ExJon) October 30, 2012
The only way people can come together is through the Federal government? Are you that dumb? @RBReich—
Miké (@ThePantau) October 30, 2012
@RBReich Indeed, that is the very question, Comrade. Do we belong to the government, or not?—
Michael Krempasky (@krempasky) October 30, 2012
Hmm. The government is the only thing we all belong to? Where did we hear that recently? Ah yes, the Democratic National Convention. If that’s the choice on Nov. 6, no thanks.
