New York power outage claims Gawker, HuffPo, Mediaite, BuzzFeed websites

A power outage at a downtown New York data center on Monday took several popular websites offline, including the entire Gawker network of sites as well as Mediaite and the Huffington Post.

New York City residents this morning were worried about shortages of batteries and bottled water, but now users worldwide are facing a sudden and unexpected shortage of places to web surf.

Celebs are welcome to go crazy in real life but are asked to stay indoors and keep tweeting; Twitchy is up and running and going strong.

That sucks that Mediaite is down …. God forbid those trolls over there get restless, shop around for somewhere else to blog and find a temporary or permanent home over here because if they do we will all rue the day. Those DNC flash-mob trolls over at Mediaite are the most dishonest, most disingenuous and most persistent adolescent trolls I’ve come across in all my life! Nothing against the website, itself …. it’s those unspeakable industrial Soros trolls that are terminally rabid and immature and I’m not even kidding!

    • SineWaveII

Bring it on, I’m ready for ’em.

      • Love of Country

It’s not like that ….. that’s how I was in the beginning. I have posted exactly 1000 comments on Mediaite and it was 500 too many. Fighting the good fight actually turned into an unhealthy sickness over there. You don’t want them here I promise … unless you want 15 or 20 down votes on every comment you make accompanied with several responses chock full of overtly disingenuous lies. You can’t win over there …. superior points and logic mean nothing to them …. they will not acknowledge or concede anything no matter how powerful your argument is.

So at first, I too didn’t care if they acknowledged it or not … I knew I was beating them, right? So you may feel that way for the first 1, 2, 3, or 4 hundred posts but at some point it sinks in …. you’re just wasting your time and breath on a bunch of lying idiots who have never once conceded a point, never once had an “aha” moment and meanwhile they’ve neutralized any likes you have ever garnered with perpetual avalanches of “dislikes”.

I actually spent my last couple hundred comments over there just trying to get away, stay away, and stop the constant, needless and fruitless drama known as blogging on Mediaite. Even so, I had my share of relapses, believe you me. But when the bean counter hit 1000 on Mediaite …. I was able to finally use that significant number to finally say enough is enough and stop the terminal dysfunction once and for all as it had essentially turned into nothing more than unfulfilling arguments with large quantities of disingenuous trolls I could never like or respect. You don’t want them here, SineWavell, anymore than you would want your own house infested with cockroaches.

But go visit if you like, but whatever you do, please don’t let a single one follow you back here. Dems here are few and far between and none of them are hateful …. we’ve got it good here.

I decided long ago that if I ever went back to Mediaite, it was always gonna be on Nov 7 just to say I told you so (Romney won) to some of my old foes and there are at least a dozen I would like to remind! But even then, I was going to first cover my tracks by posting at least 6 or 7 comments at sites other than Twitchy so if they tried to see where I’ve been as of late, they wouldn’t be tipped off to Twitchy when they reviewed my recent comment history (and they would) to follow me back.

I wish I could tell you I’m over-reacting but I’m not …. I’m absolutely serious. Good luck if you go over there … just know that once you become a known quantity the nightmare will begin … but for the love of Pete … please do not bring one single troll back with you, lol.

BTW – I hit your like button because I admire your spunk even though I adamantly question the wisdom of that particular remark.

I hear ya man. I’ve been doing battle with the trolls for years now. I know how it is when they take over a board. I’ve seen it myself. But if 3 or 4 conservatives stick together and take them on as a group they can be beaten. I’ve seen that too.
But you’re right about the sickness, The best thing to do for that is to not let it get to you. Laugh at them, I’ve found that’s the best way not to succumb to the troll-virus. They want you to get angry so don’t give it to them. If you really are angry step away and calm down before you post. And try whenever possible to turn what they say into a joke. Finally if it’s obvious they just want to spout talking points and don’t care what you’re saying, hit them with “Scroll the Troll” and move on. That lets anyone just coming to the board know that they aren’t worth bothering with it says “don’t waste your time just scroll on past them”. I’ve found that works pretty well. If you ever need an ally for troll-battle, just let me know.

          • Love of Country

Ah …. some good advice there …. I appreciate that. At times, I did take it too serious.

Well, presuming Mitt wins, I will revisit that plagued site to trash talk some half dozen trolls who among other things were always cocksure Dinglebarry would be reelected and were always calling folks stupid who thought differently. I’m more than ready to say I told you so, lol.

Also, I apreciate your comraderie, SineWavell, and I trust you will be a worthy ally ….. and if you ever need anything at all, I got your six.

          • SineWaveII

Thanks man, I appreciate that. And back at ya. Let me know if you need anything.,
Btw If Mitt does win and you want to do a tour of the lefty sites to “rub salt into the wounds”, Let me know, I’ll gladly join ya.

          • Love of Country

            Outstanding! Looking forward to it!

          • Penmar

I actually enjoy it, because they are so predictable and idiotic in their responses. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten mad or upset, I save that for the people that deserve my compassion like our 4 fallen Americans in Benghazi.

    • DavidKramer

I was thrown off about a year ago by whiny Tommy. Back then, us conservatives ruled that site.

      • Love of Country

Hey Dave, my old rocker friend (from Milwaukee?) ….

Yeah, the site was better about two years ago and I too was thrown off once, I apologized to to Jon, the editor, in an email and was permitted back on the very next day. He was very reasonable, I learned that site actually did have ‘some’ decorum, and never had a single issue after that, lol.

Speaking of moving on, I don’t know if you ever noticed but I no longer post on Newsbusters either. I was looking around one day (a few months ago) and almost overnight, a bunch of stuffy conservative trolls had been promoted to moderator. Furthermore, it took less than a day for them all to start behaving like they all thought they were God or something and quickly began shutting down ALL dissent from liberal bloggers with an iron fist.

Here’s a very typical and actual example …

        Blonde Gator —

        Keep it up.

We don’t have much of a choice about listening to Obama’s lies and insults….but we don’t have to listen to yours.

Next time I see “winger” or any other insult out of you to the membership here, you are gone. First and last warning.
I read that and thought “winger”? You’re throwing trolls off the site who use the word “winger”? And Mother124 was no better. And then I noticed all the conservative bloggers kowtowing to all the moderators and hitting their like buttons when none were earned or warranted.

It all creeped me out and I hit the road. I’ve posted exactly 150 comments at Newsbusters and I’m never going back unless they revamp their way of doing things and I doubt they will.

Furthermore, Fox Nation gave Disqus the middle finger and I can no longer post there …. Fox News is where I cut my teeth, Fox Nation used to be my stomping grounds …. now it’s all gone … can’t even so much as login with this account and I refuse to blog with two accounts so after all those many great years, I’m done with Fox too.

Fortunately for me, Dave, I love, love love Twitchy!
Great to talk to you again and good luck battling the trolls!

        • DavidKramer

Yeah, I sent an email in and was told because of my attitude in the email, they could see why I was kicked off. Ooops, I guess they did not like my attitude……LOL. Now I am dealing with a Disqus troll following me around. The loser actually copied my avatar and my name and is using an L instead of the I in my name. What a psycho. Of course Disqus is “checking into it”.

Correct state, wrong city. EC to be exact. Keep blasting the trolls.

  • Joe W.

Gawker, Buzzfeed, Mediaite & HuffPo??? Awesome…All we need now is the KOS going down and the web will be rid of much of the liberal vomit sites…

  • Jack Deth

That must explain the propitious arrival of ‘The Daffiodil Times’ and other very low tier minions and trolls arriving here from HuffPo.

I wonder if their mothers know that their 30-something, unemployed kids may be running gasoline powered generators in their basements without ventilation?

That’s right up there with barbecuing indoors. A major health hazard.

  • RightThinking1

Ah. Soon they will be ranting that Bain Capital owns the power company….

Must be a sign of the times, nobody has backup servers anymore? Remote data centers? Anything?
