It’s been a busy day for the president. Earlier, he had to dodge questions on the Michael Smerconish radio show about Benghazi and reports that multiple requests for military assistance during the Sept. 11 terrorist assault were denied. Later, during an interview with KUSA-TV’s Kyle Clarke, Obama again deflected questions about the new reports.
ABC’s Jake Tapper reports:
After being asked about possible denials of requests for aid, and whether it’s fair to tell Americans that what happened is under investigation and won’t be released until after the election, the president said, “the election has nothing to do with four brave Americans getting killed and us wanting to find out exactly what happened. These are folks who served under me who I had sent to some very dangerous places. Nobody wants to find out more what happened than I do.”
…
“Were they denied requests for help during the attack?” [Clarke] asked.
“Well, we are finding out exactly what happened,” the president again said.
@jaketapper Since #Obama has refused to answer questions today on #Benghazi, his new Campaign slogan: #COWARD—

@whpresscorps @jaketapper "he’s waiting for the results of investigations before making any conclusions about what went wrong" Really now.—

@jaketapper @johnjharwood @DavidCornDC This is getting ugly. Pres did not answer if direct request for backup was denied. where is the MSM?—

@jaketapper Maybe WH Press Corp can be a little more aggressive with this? Kind of a big story if POTUS left the SEALS to die on that roof.—

@jaketapper It makes NO SENSE – emails released totally contradict this story…how can they continue to stand by the deception?—
