Despicable: New York Times still blames YouTube video for Libyan ‘riots’

State Department emails show that the White House, the Pentagon and intelligence agencies knew within two hours that the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi was terrorism. But the Fishwrap of Record is still clinging bitterly to the lies the Obama administration told for days after the attack.

In an article on the film “SEAL Team Six: The Raid on Osama bin Laden,” the New York Times continues to blame “The Innocence of Muslims” for the”spontaneous riots” that resulted in the deaths of four Americans at the hands of terrorists.

Beyond the political issues, the film may carry the risk of associating Mr. Obama with any backlash in a Muslim world already inflamed by the YouTube trailer for an insulting film portrayal of its prophet. In September riots erupted in Libya, Egypt and elsewhere as Muslim crowds reacted violently to what they perceived as the unforgivable insults of a scratch production, “The Innocence of Muslims,” some of which was posted on YouTube.

Shameful lapdoggery.

JammieWearingFool asked reporter Brian Stelter to explain his report.

No reply, natch.

Twitchy will update you if Stelter comes up with a spin for his disgraceful spin.

Is anyone in Washington D.C. paying attention?? Someone at least bring
up the subject of impeachment on the Senate or house floor! PLEASE!
It is a good time to impeach Obama to keep this story in the news for a few weeks.

  • Beau Nuerr

I guess the dudes that pre-positioned the mortars before the video even came out got an advanced screening of it?

    4th estate my a$$!

    • TomJB

Meh.. they’ve “moved on” so to speak and “evolved” past the 4th estate. They are now the 5th column.

      • Snake_Oil_Baron

I think they are in the 5th dimension.

It’s a conspiracy, plain and simple.

As all dictators know, you openly flaunt big conspiracies and big lies. That way, everybody believes what you say, no matter how absurd: “If it wasn’t true, they wouldn’t risk making fools of themselves by throwing it out in public this way.”

Evil never changes. Neither do the cowards (in our era, Establishment Republicans) who enable it.

  • Claude AndPam Parish

People who want to riot hardly ever need a ‘reason’. They only need a place.

Jar Carney and Chief of Staff David Axel-Comb-Over are in a frenzy trying to plug the Libya leak which could sink the ship named, USS Obama

  • Iacobus

And then papers like the New York Times wonder why they’ve become irrelevant…

It must be hard carrying water for Obama at this point.

  • Midnight Cow

So when Chris Matthews told that kid, “It was all about the video. Read a newspaper,” the NYT is the newspaper he meant.
