President’s claim that Planned Parenthood provides mammograms debunked (again)

During last night’s presidential debate, Twitchy called out President Lady Parts on his claim that Planned Parenthood provides mammograms. Even Politifact will tell you that’s not true. But as they say, when you’re dealing with a serious medical condition, it’s always a good idea to get a second opinion.

Pro-life blogger Jill Stanek made the phone calls last year in a futile search of a Planned Parenthood location which provides mammograms, but with President Obama himself reviving this claim that refuses to die in front of a television audience of nearly 70 million, Eliana Johnson made some calls today on behalf of National Review. And guess what:

To test the president’s statement in the real world, I called several Planned Parenthood offices in the New York City area today to ask about scheduling a mammogram. “We actually don’t offer that here,” one office told me. “You might want to call 311, they actually have lists of places you could go to.” When I asked, “You don’t provide them like the president said?,” I was told “No.”

Another office told me the following: “We don’t do mammograms, but I could definitely give you other places you could call.” When I mentioned the president’s statement, the woman said, “I’m not even sure because we’ve never offered mammograms.” Of the five offices I called, only the Hempstead, N.Y., location said it offered the service — on Fridays and not by an in-house technician.

Candy Crowley, would you like to fact-check the president on this one? Too late? Darn.

So when the president told the nation that “millions of women all across the country … rely on Planned Parenthood for mammograms,” what are they getting for our money?

We kill babies, especially minority babies, just like our founder wanted us to!

The part that confuses me the most is…If Obama is so convinced that Obamacare will provide affordable insurance to anyone who wants it, indeed makes it mandatory to have it, why does he also see the need to keep funding a place like Planned Parenthood? No doubt, they DO provide some essential low-cost medical care (such as cervical cancer screening, all forms of birth control, STD treatment, etc.) to those without insurance. But, but but…if we’re ALL required to have insurance and it’s soooooo affordable, why the need to fight for organizations that provide low-cost care for the person paying out-of-pocket? Won’t these people be required by law to have insurance and therefore will be able to get these services from their own doctor? Which is it Barry? Because having it both ways makes no sense to me.

I seem to recall quite the kerfuffle when Susan G. Komen’s president decided to withdraw funds from Planned Parenthood. They wanted to allocate their funding to providers who actually performed in-house mammograms to make the best use of the money. The goal was to eliminate the middle man and get more bang for the buck. The only bang was the sound of the door hitting her butt on the way out. She was fired. You’d think the President and Candy Crowley could remember something like that.

Where would Dinglebarry be without all of his lies?

I don’t know either (ACORN in Chicago) but he certainly never would have attained elected power without them or the state run media who do his bidding.
