John Kerry thrown under bus; didn’t ‘get in president’s face’ during debate prep

Obama supporters have offered a never-ending buffet of excuses for the president’s abysmal performance at Wednesday night’s debate, ranging from too little oxygen to too much choom. Those still not satisfied (and unwilling to blame Obama) have been offered one more scapegoat in the form of John Kerry. reports that unnamed sources in the president’s camp are suggesting that Kerry failed in his duties as a debate stand-in for Mitt Romney. Kerry, they suggest, is angling for Hillary Clinton’s Secretary of State job and chose not “to get in the president’s face” and challenge him aggressively.

In his post-debate meltdown, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews suggested that the president’s problem was that he didn’t watch enough MSNBC. Perhaps he’d have done better if MSNBC’s caricature of Romney had shown up rather than the actual candidate.

So what was Kerry supposed to do–chase Bammie down at the Hoover Dam?

  • lana ward

That’s funny, now Kerry knows how Republicans have felt for years!!!!

  • grais

Well, they haven’t blamed Bush. Yet.

    • nc

      Give them time.

    • Shawn Smith

I think that’s pretty much assumed by now. Anytime O’s fans blame his problem on anyone else, you can just add “and Bush” to the end of it.

      • halonoah94

Ooh! Ooh! I know how they can blame him! ‘Bush didn’t put up a big enough fight in the 2004 elections, which meant John Kerry got soft in debating!’

  • Pete Futz

This is what happens when a bunch of idiots believe their own bullsh!t.

  • Brett McMicken

obama didn’t have much trouble when he debated john mccain. he just wasn’t used to someone who didn’t get up there and apologize for having the temerity to run against him.

  • Brett McMicken

    john kerry has been swift-bused

  • nc

Far be it from me to defend John Effin Kerry, but how can you blame the teacher when the student cuts class and refuses to do his homework?

On the other hand, wasn’t there ANYONE who could impress upon BHO the importance of proper preparation?

    • TexasMom2012

Nope, cuz the O thinks he is always the smartest guy in the room and has said so on multiple occasions.

      • bjm2009

Obama also expected Jim Lehrer to tilt the debate to his advantage as the media has since he entered the political arena.

  • Edward Cropper

ck. my blog for a photo-shop of the penalty phase for John Baby

  • ZoriahShepard

Jeez. They will do anything but put the responsibility where it belongs. I wish I had me a spin team like his.

  • Brett McMicken

i will admit one thing: the thought of having to stand in one spot and listen to john kerry droning on is pretty dismal. it’s like having a mock debate with the grim reaper.

    • Catchance

Hahaha! The Grim Reaper… love it! Too bad Kerry doesn’t hide beneath a black cloak.

      • Brett McMicken

no need for a cloak: he hides behind his wife’s money

  • Guest

Did someone tell Obama the presidency was a sinecure?

  • Ramone Love

Leave poor John Kerry alone. His head is so gigantic that if he had attempted to ‘get in Obama’s face’ the president would have been crushed beneath the giant, leering monstrosity that is John Kerry’s skull.

  • G.

After watching this “administration”s performance for the past 4 years, it’s like watching a classroom of kindergarteners raise heck and then blame each other when the teacher returns to the room. Everyone else did it, I’m didn’t do that, it’s his/her fault. He did it, I’m a good boy…For almost 4 freaking years now. Shameful and shameless at the same time. Incompetence at its’ peak!! It’s rare when you find both incompetence and arrogance in the same person, but 0bama has them both.

ABO ABO ABO ABO ABO ABO ABO……Anybody But Obama !!!

  • $1718659

Kerry doesn’t have the balls to get in someones face – he’s a coward through and through. His bailout of Vietnam after 3 phoney Purple Heart medals proves it.

    • redheadgrl

Theresa has more balls than Kerry.

  • john

To be fair. Teddy Kennedy or Robert KKK.Byrd would have offered a more “lively” challenge than John F’n Kerry.

  • Gio

Just a simple case of O’Bummer forgetting to follow the 7P’s of preparing for the debate… Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance… Oh, snap… Apparently he didn’t look at the recent study that shows Chooming prior to age 18 results in an average loss of 8 points of IQ, as well as a reduction in the ability to process complex concepts… Being around Sheriff Joe for 4 years has probably doubled down on that loss.

  • NCRelite

I’d love to see the caricature of Romney that Kerry fabricated

  • William Manning

But, isn’t Kerry a Vietnam war hero?!? Maybe Obama should use R. Lee Ermey to prepare for debate number 2!

  • Bowdoin81

Did Axelrod and company really think John F Kerry could prepare Obama for anything outside of how to avoid paying taxes on his yacht?

  • Paul C.

The libs told Obummer “your the greatest” for the past 4 years and kept a bubble around him, well Romney just popped that bubble. It’s like anything else, over confident.

  • TocksNedlog

The word of the week is BEBO (Blame Everyone But Obama)

    • nc

Great word – but it explains not just the week but his whole life.

  • Jedd McHead

I hate to defend Kerry but it’s hard to “get in the face” of someone who isn’t there (too busy touring the Hoover Dam) or who is likely to throw a tantrum and storm off stage.

  • jdog

I always wanted to ask Kerry: Why the long face? Now we know.

  • Bryan

They’re racists so they thought any old white man would do. Too bad for them they didn’t realize that discipline, hard work, and intelligence were requirements. Nobody on the left fitting this description immediately comes to mind.

  • Toqin

Bebo also means to drink in Portuguese. So you got that right, someone IS drinking the Kool-Aid.
