Conservatives (mostly) praise Univision ‘Fast and Furious’ documentary

As Twitchy reported earlier, Spanish-language network Univision aired a much-anticipated documentary tonight about the Fast and Furious gun-walking scandal. Many conservative Twitter users tuned in, and almost all of them offered up praise:

Not all commentary was positive, however. A few conservatives pointed out that the end of the documentary wrongly placed blame for Fast and Furious on the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution:

  • Love of Country

I’m so equally surprised and equally thankful Univision isn’t 100% in the tank for Dinglabarry and his henchmen …. what a blessing.

  • The Monster

By the way, Univision is a US company, just not part of the LameStream Liars.

I am one of the Twitter users who was translating on the fly for non-Spanish speakers. Two of my comments appear above (thank you).

Jorge Ramos, who otherwise did a professional job in this much-needed journalistic expose, did end the programme by noting that that America had a 2nd Amendment which factored into the ease in which guns are traded in the USA — quite unlike other countries, which prohibit or stifle the gun-acquiring of its law-abiding citizenry.

What they fail to mention, is that Mexico is one of those countries which impose restrictions on the acquisition of guns — it has one of the severest gun laws in the world — and therefore it TAKES a programme (dastardly conceived and run as Fast and Furious was), to get arms into the hands of cartels.

As Washington DC has proven, when you place punitive laws into effect regarding arms, all that you do is arm the lawless. Peaceful citizens are left helpless, something which should’ve occured to the US government, as they basically sentenced their own and other citizens to death with Fast And Furious.

    • Jesse Malkin

      thank you for your comment.

      • vbspurs

Thank you for covering the reaction. One would think US journalists would be eager to report on this programme gone. Alas, they have done nothing remotely similar to what a FOREIGN-LANGUAGE channel in the US, has done.

        • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

Not just Washington DC, Chicago is the “poster child” for “model gun laws”.

        • lillymckim

That is just a sad treasonous act if not criminal act by our US media.
I’m so ashamed of the US news media.
I have never seen this level of malfeasance in my lifetime by people who have the unmitigated gall to call themselves journalists.

    • Netmilsmom

Where were you translating? I would love to read it.

      • vbspurs

On Twitter. Unfortunately, scrolling back several days on a timeline is a thankless task.

  • disqus_LASIg6epmj

I had mentioned on Twitter earlier than I wish we could drop one of the big three (ABC, NBC or CBS) and replace with Univision. :)

    • BeautifulAmerica

Is Univision an independent station or government-run? Anyone know?

      • vbspurs

There are no government-run networks in the US, surely. Not even PBS. Univision is an American channel, with a heavy dose of Mexican influence like Televisa, etc.

        • BeautifulAmerica

Thank you. I thought it was a product of Mexico imported here.

  • Aaron Burr

Easily the stupidest headline ever written by Twitchy. Hey! Dumb Asses! The story is about Univision exposing the Obama administrations murderous gun running schemes all over Latin America, not what some anonymous twitter addict thinks about Univisions coverage of Fast & Furious. Wipe the Cheeto stains off your fingers and put away the bong.

    • Pete Futz

Wrong, the story is about the reaction to the Univision coverage of fast and furious. Moron

    • Netmilsmom

LOL! Are you on the right site? Did you know that this is Twitchy (who writes about people’s twitter replies)? Nothing personal, but the story about Univision exposing F&F is on The Blaze.

    • Jules

      Twit-chy….as in Twit-ter….got it?

  • BeeKaaay

I am glad that Univision had the courage to report the truth for the most part (that last minute blaming of 2nd amendment was a bone thrown to leftwingwackos)

  • Rafael Eduardo Peña-Rios Riber

    media response:
the people in univision are raci- wait a second

  • mhojai

How long before they demand reparations?
This was “testifying” in a lawsuit -evidenced by the attack on the 2nd Amendment.

  • ratizbad

The Chicago Two (Holder Hussein) are guilty as charged.Whenever that will be.Later I see, better than never.

  • Dio Heerai

Its so easy when you DON”T have Obama’s SPHINCTER clasped firmly around your NECK

  • Dio Heerai

IT”S ONLY US DUMB SPICS …RIGHT OBAMA…We don’t even count as BUMPS more like PEBBLES IN THE ROAD !!!

  • kbielefe

Obama gained a LOT of momentum in 2008 by commandeering the sí se puede movement. Polls aren’t accounting for him burning all his bridges except the #Obamaphone crowd.

  • chicagoxile

How many thousands of chimichangas did Univision get from the Romney
campaign to produce this Obama hit piece that was already discredited by
the *real* American journalism done by Fortune Magazine?!

    (sarcasm off)

  • Doc Washburn

Its an honor 2b retweeted by Twitchy & the great Michelle Malkin! Thx 4 giving both sides of story re:Univision expose on F&F! #tcot

  • Orangeone

Univision: Please post the full video of Fast and Furious. Perhaps you could consider Donation-Per-View to provide an avenue for viewers to help the families of the slane Mexican victims. We are a generous people and despite one comment during the video, we do care about your people and keep their families in our prayers.

  • Orangeone
