Berenstain Bears caught up in Chick-fil-A controversy, urged to cut ties with chain

The Jim Henson Company may no longer be supplying toys and other merchandise to Chick-fil-A restaurants, but the Berenstain Bears book that came with your kid’s meal is still available — for now.

The creators of the Berenstain Bears are referring questions about their association with Chick-fil-A to their publisher, HarperCollins. A note on the Berenstain Bears website acknowledges the ongoing controversy regarding Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy’s comments on marriage but takes no stance other than to say the future of the promotion is out of the Berenstain family’s hands.

A “small, determined group” representing three organizations, including SumOfUs and CREDO Action, claim to have delivered 80,000 signatures on a petition to HarperCollins this week asking the company to cut ties with Chick-fil-A.

While the Berenstain’s creators seem to have retreated into their den for now, the promotion looks like it’s underway.

I wonder how many millions of kids meals were sold this past month ? I am sure Henson probably regretting their decision.

Reading is fundamental, unless your parents don’t support my viewpoints.

IF they have half a brain, they’ll have seen the turnout for people to support Chik Fil A.

Go ahead and boycott, HarpersCollins. Most book buyers are conservatives. Ask Carbonite how that works. Ask Koomen’s CEO and president. Oops, they were canned once donations fell after caving to liberals.

It’s a shame that they caved to a relatively small number of INTOLERANT people bent on forcing their agenda on people who probably don’t give a rip one way or the other. I am sure the kids are there for the FOOD and those Liberals are all in for limiting the First Amendment when they don’t like something else about the message maker.
