The Jim Henson Company may no longer be supplying toys and other merchandise to Chick-fil-A restaurants, but the Berenstain Bears book that came with your kid’s meal is still available — for now.

The creators of the Berenstain Bears are referring questions about their association with Chick-fil-A to their publisher, HarperCollins. A note on the Berenstain Bears website acknowledges the ongoing controversy regarding Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy’s comments on marriage but takes no stance other than to say the future of the promotion is out of the Berenstain family’s hands.

A “small, determined group” representing three organizations, including SumOfUs and CREDO Action, claim to have delivered 80,000 signatures on a petition to HarperCollins this week asking the company to cut ties with Chick-fil-A.
While the Berenstain’s creators seem to have retreated into their den for now, the promotion looks like it’s underway.
