Disgraceful: Celebs, Bloomberg and Piers Morgan use Colo. shooting to push gun control

Shameful gun control opportunists aren’t waiting for a complete investigation into the deadly movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colo. The gun-grabbers aren’t even waiting for the blood to dry before politicizing the massacre in an effort to gut the Second Amendment.

Twitchy reported earlier that comedian D.L. Hughley tweeted a reality-challenged gun control diatribe in the wake of the shooting.

Hughley was joined by ghoulish politicians, lapdog media goons and ignorant Hollywood celebs who took their gun control sloganeering to Twitter in the hours after 12 moviegoers lost their lives. It’s not just Rush Limbaugh and the Tea Party that are to blame — it’s guns, natch.

CNN host Piers Morgan loves working in America. The law of the land? Not so much.

No tears for the victims. Just revolting political opportunism.

Naturally, Soros monkey Eric Boehlert agrees with Morgan.

As does Univision’s Jorge Ramos.

And Arianna Huffington.

Nanny Bloomberg, of course, couldn’t resist smearing his hands with the blood of the Colorado shooting victims.

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter is right on board, as are congressional liberals.

Smarty pants celebs like John Leguizamo, Dominic Monaghan, Rob Schneider and Henry Winkler delighted in piling on.

And perhaps most despicably of all, author Salman Rushdie thought it would be hilarious to crap out a Batman pun.

The right side of the Twitterverse immediately pushed back against the Left’s unseemly cries of “there oughta be a law.”

One Twitter user sums up the most sickening aspect of today’s efforts to revive the gun control debate.

Update: Bette Midler also piles on.

Update: Russell Simmons names the NRA the “master pimp.”

The UK has gun control and its violent crime rate is 5X that of the US.

http://www.gunfacts.info/pdfs/gun-facts/6.1/gun_facts_6_1_screen.pdf Here. Use this as your information. Lord knows everyone needs to see this so that they can UNDERSTAND WHAT IS ACTUALLY GOING ON INSTEAD OF BLAMING THE WEAPONS INSTEAD OF THE KILLER.

        • Bobbi Burkholder

Exactly, I would love those who live behind tall iron gates, to tell me how gun control helps those who live In Chicago and watched the violence escalate??? And if they have a way to assure us, the law abiding citizensm, that if they took our legal guns, the gang bangers and other idiots on the streets, wouldn’t have them either!!!!! Never gonna happen, but we are expected to hand them over!!!

  • Nergal

“Ghoulish” was a very good choice of words to describe the immediate politicization of a tragedy. Were the bodies even cold before all of the usual suspects began their ravings?

  • sean1

Yeah, we’d be so much better off if we kept weapons from the general populace – like in the middle ages!

    • Nergal

What’s funny is that I had a very similar thought. The lords in the middle ages had all the weapons, and abused their subjects horribly. There is no reason to suspect that things would be any different if we allowed ourselves to be fully disarmed. The difference between a subject an a citizen is that a citizen can retaliate.

  • Johnny Blade

    @ John Cachero.. exactly right!
and wow who thought I would ever applaud the IQ of a Baldwin (no offense Adam, you are 100% correct)
To all the Hollweird leftist opposed to gun ownership, fine, fire your bodyguards.. whats that? not going to happen you say? You have my answer to giving up my firearms.

  • lainer51

NO Bloomtard, it is time for you to quit pretending you are the president and not just a nanny mayor

I guess we should chose our weapons … so to speak. I don’t condone gun violence in killing innocent people … but I don’t condone the mass murder that is taking place by driving the entire country, and future generations, to their death through out of control deficit spending.

  • http://twitter.com/Dave_Newberry Dave Newberry

Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. Terribly tragic indeed but obviously there are mental issues at the heart of this matter. Too bad the Left will unabashedly use this to cry foul.

  • smerkysmerk

Stop, just stop the name calling and finger pointing. There needs to be a national discussion regarding guns in this country. I get and respect the right to bear arms. But do we need to have semi automatic machine guns and hand guns? Do you really think this is what the founding fathers had in mind? The NRA has a definite political agenda so much so that neither candidate running for the presidential office will speak out about guns. We all know the power the NRA has. But is there any room for common sense? At least some dialogue so each side can hear arguments and speak minds freely without name calling. We need some dialogue without such extreme positions.

    • ieatvegetarians

Here’s your ‘dialogue’. “Shall not be infringed.” Get over it.

    • ieatvegetarians

oh PS: The theater infringed. They did not allow guns. And the NYC bit in the twitter feed…. NYC doesnt allow guns either. Neither do the other top – gun – violence ranking cities in the nation. All disalow guns.

      • catb55

I agree .. had someone been allowed to carry their legal concealed weapon .. this animal could have been taken out or at least down .. I have a laser site on mine .. I could have hit him in a darkened theater.

    • edzzup

“Semi-automatic” weapons aren’t “machine guns”; you don’t even understand the basics.

  • Botzilla

The majority of gun related homicides in the US are either gang or suicide related.

  • Jim Brasher

Hey stupid, we already have strict gun control laws in place. By taking away our guns leaves all the other guns in the hands of criminals. What is so hard to understand about that? Come and take my guns yourself if you dare from my cold stiffend fingers. I need a job too but am I going to hurt innocents? Boycott ABC News, Brian Ross and George steponallofus are idiots. Stupid asses blaming the Tea Party. Should be praying for the victims and families instead and if you are a non-believer than just shut about it.

  • B-rad

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms . . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes . . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”
–Thomas Jefferson, quoting Cesare Beccaria in On Crimes and Punishment (1764).

  • Botzilla

What the gun control cult doesnt get is that gun control laws only punish the law abiding.

  • Chris Condren

It disgusting that all you guys can think about is keeping your guns

  • LouannO

Look at all the countries who have banned guns. England – the roves of gangs have taken over the country. If a citizen would do something to protect themselves, the citizen would be in trouble and punished, not the offender. The Netherlands and the shooting at the camp, an armed parent or councilor may have prevented more deaths. I think EVERY adult should be required to take a gun safety course, knowledge is power. If you are not afraid of something, then you are equip to be able to deal with it on an intelligent level, not blow the rhetoric out your butt level. Most important, criminals will always find ways to access implements of destruction, whether guns, knives, bats, or sticks (what is the next step ban bats, knifes and sticks) a citizen should have a right to keep criminals under control (the courts have NOT been able to do that) and protect themselves and their loved ones.

    • Joe Dawes

Roves of gangs have “taken over” the country? I’m looking out the window and I don’t see any roves…In fact, I would bet (based on comparisons of incarceration rates, economic inequality and poverty levels) that the US’s gang problem is considerably worse than in the UK.If you were referring to the riots earlier in the year, they were triggered by, guess what, a shooting.

The US has over 9,000 homicides by firearm last year… close to 15,000 in total. The UK, on the other hand, has only 41 by firearm, around 500 in total. How many more people have to die in such a violent, abhorrent manor. The stakes are too high to simply maintain the status quo… A real shame that the american right are never going to concede an inch.

Also, if you’re going to cite a horrible incident like the Anders Brevik massacre to make your point, give the victims some respect and get the location right (Norway). He was declared insane in court, theses people will always exist, we just have to make it as hard as possible to get hold of weapons.
      Fewer guns, less suffering

  • BeeKaaay

Typical of leftwingwackos to MILK this for political gain.
