Corporate cooties! DNC rebrands Bank of America Stadium as 'Panthers Stadium'

In May, Occupy agitators marched on Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. The goal of their protest was to “make Bank of America pay.”

Now that the Democrats are gearing up to hold their September convention at the stadium, they can’t even bring themselves to type the words “Bank of America.” You know, because corporations are totally grody, especially when they’re associated with the bankster one percent.

Yep, can’t have President Obama associated with an icky corporation when he delivers his keynote address at, ahem, Bank of America Stadium.

And it’s not just a bit of iffy proofreading in one email.

Politico reports that “Another email in June made the same pitch about the stadium.”

For the record, Bank of America Stadium has never been called “Panthers Stadium.” Bank of America purchased naming rights in 2004, replacing L.M. Ericsson Inc. as the corporate (gasp!) sponsor. Prior to that, the facility was known as Carolinas Stadium.

But wait, it gets better! Isn’t that Raacist? How about we ask directions to the ” ‘New’ black Panthers” stadium, and really nail them?

This is to much. They have no clue at all.

Word on the street says some Donk GLBT convention delegates are now demanding the stadium be referred to as “PINK PANTHERS STADIUM”. 😉

I can see it now…. huge placards placed over everything the says Bank of America; it’s either that or some really funky camera angles!

I live in Charlotte….and I think most people would know what anyone meant by “Panthers Stadium” since the Panthers play there. The Bobcats play at Time-Warner Arena, but EVERYONE calls it “Bobcats Arena”. Anyway…..
DNC’s attempts to not utter the words “Bank of America” are laughable. Good luck covering all the signage that says BoA EVERYWHERE there.

This should be hilarious. It’s not like the name “Bank Of America Stadium” isn’t all over the place outside and inside. What about all the ATMs (which take people’s jobs, of course)? Will they be covered? Will dems try and cover the BOA names everywhere? I bet BOA will not allow that, considering the amount of money they pay for naming rights.

And let’s not forget the huge number of banks that have corporate centers right down the road in downtown Charlotte.

Once again the liberal response to a word problem is to change the word, change the meaning of the word, or just not say it at all.

George Orwell was a prophet. “1984” was a prophecy, not a work of fiction.

George Axelrod was a prophet. “The Manchurian Candidate” was a prophecy, not a work of fiction.
