No H8? Tolerance bullies hurl vile slurs at Brad Pitt's pro-Romney Christian mom

Welcome to the Death Camp of Tolerance.

Jane Pitt is the mother of actor Brad Pitt. On Tuesday, the Springfield News-Leader published her letter in support of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Via Life News:

Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama — a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.

Gasp! A pro-life Christian who doesn’t support gay marriage? Time for the Left’s self-proclaimed arbiters of tolerance to teach her a lesson with their hateful, misogynist slurs and death wishes.

“No H8” is a bumper sticker. It’s carefully lettered face paint that can be washed off after an overexposed PR photo is snapped. And it’s a bludgeon used to silence dissenting voices by labeling their words “hate speech.” When that bludgeon fails to knock out every last opponent, the tolerance bullies unleash their hate.

Once again, the Left’s revolting intolerance of conservative free speech is on display for all the world to see. Let’s hope Jane Pitt answers with even louder, bolder speech.

  • midnightgolfer

I couldn’t care less about the politics of Pitt, or his mom’s, but it is interesting to see, yet again, the vile filth that spews forth from the left, as ever.

  • LL1885

Interesting to see how far her kid as fallen from her tree.

  • lindilouwho

I couldn’t read all the posts! How vile and repulsive these people are!! It always amazes me how liberals are only tolerant for those who agree with them. Hypocrites!!

    • catb55

They preach civility .. but that is only an attempt to shut those who don’t agree with them up .. I agree .. they are vile vile vile people.

      • lindilouwho

I am always willing to hear someone’s opinion on something but when they shout, become foul mouthed or unwilling to listen in return. I have no use for them, regardless of their party affiliation. These people are dross.

        • Hello Jerry (D)

That describes about 99% (pun intended) of the libturds. Best to just flat out ignore them.

      • Hello Jerry (D)

They deserve to be shunned, like what the Amish do when one of theirs commits a sin.

        • Whacha

    • JoeS7

The same applies to both Liberals and Conservatives. Neither of them are perfect, it’s just Conservatives often provoke stronger reactions because of how condescending and verbal they can be.

      • Richard Irwin

So again fron liberal land… It’s the victims fault

  • rivers

No H8? Violent, soul-less morons, bigots of the worst kind. Brad (and Angie too – this is her children’s grandmother) better man up soon and come out in her defense.

    • lindilouwho

I was thinking the same thing! If this were my mother, regardless of whether we shared the same politics, I would jump to her defense with this type of disgusting way of speaking about her. What kind of mothers raised these individuals??

      • Terika

he’s gonna pretend that he knows nothing whatsoever about these tweets. To acknowledge them, he wd not be able to remain silent. Then what does he do?!?!?!

  • Ben Bollman

Maybe the left’s reaction to his mother will open Brad’s eyes, but considering how far down the rabbit hole he is I doubt it.

  • rivers

Oh yeah, and the gay community made Pitt a star? Shut up and get over yourself. Evolved people define themselves beyond their sexual proclivities.

    • Terika

and being, what, less than 1/32 of the population… no, the gay community did NOT make Brad a star (like that one dingbat twitter twit said above). They barely made a – dare I say it – “prick” in the making of his career.

  • Orangeone

Brad and Angelina, hope you are loving your liberal friends!

  • Warren Grisafi

I like her better than Brad!

  • TugboatPhil

Twitter helps reinforce the fact that homosexuality is a mental disorder.

I guess this puts Brad into the same arena as the Palin kids. Something tells me he doesn’t have the courage that they do.

    • JoeS7

You cannot be serious…. Hitler, Stalin and Mao Zedong were all straight. Does that mean that all heterosexuals are power hungry mass murderers? No.

      • AMartel

JoeS7, this is what is known as a “strawman” argument.

    • Nancy

True that, Tugboat. Every wonder why it was changed in the DSM? There was no case studies, no science at all to make that change. The change was solely a political one.

  • Ntr

    Well, more tweets to report.

  • NCRelite

oh man that’s mean, just because she doesn’t agree with gay marriage. you have to agree with them or you’re a **** and a **** 😉

  • Mark James

Actually I think Angie is a registered Republican

    • Scott Jacobs

Nope. She in fact has a semi-public fued with her old man, Jon Voight…

  • Zanne

I quickly scrolled down. I need to go shower.

These hateful losers melt into the passing of time; never to be heard from again. Yay!

  • Rodney Brungardt

Typical liberal vile words. If you don’t agree with them, they demonize you.

  • Emjay Graykat

lefty liberals possess no emotional intelligence.

  • American Avant Garde

Brad pitt is about to turn into a Romney supporter…

  • deserthare

Most importantly here now is the crude, vicious attacks on Mrs. Pitt.
It is entirely inappropriate and makes our community seem like a bunch
of crude schoolyard bullies utterly intolerant of anyone who hasn’t seen the light or dares to disagree with us.

I think that in respect and appreciation to Mr. Pitt who has been very supportive of the GLBTQ community, we should respectfully back off. People of Mrs. Pitt’s position will see this tirade by a handful of equally intolerant bigots incapable of a reasonable rational response to Mrs. Pitt’s letter to the editor and a justification of their prejudice.

It’s both unfortunate and sad that Mrs. Pitt has taken this position and has acted to undercut her own son. However, most of us know that trying to get our parents to see the light on some issues is an formidable if not impossible task. I’ve been through it, and it can be maddening. My mother went to her grave hating queers.

Keep in mind, too, that she is in or near the Ozarks, an area hardly known for its enlightened intellectual progressive thinking. That is not to say they’re a bunch of toothless redneck yahoos, but they do seem to see things quite differently from people in many other more populated parts of our country.

    • jdkchem

There is nothing about you that is either liberal or progressive. When your religion is statism you can stop claiming any enlightened intellectual high ground as well.
The fact is your community does not even measure up to schoolyard bully. A bully will fight. You shitsacks just whine about how you’re now the victims of faux-fascism while running away.

    • lindilouwho

My ex son in law was one of those “enlightened intellectual progressive thinking” individuals you think so highly of. He degraded and bullied my daughter into believing there was something wrong with her because she was conservative. That her opinions weren’t valid because they didn’t coincide with his “enlightened” reasoning. For four years he berated and verbally abused her. Calling her stupid, racist, bigoted and mindless. Only if she thought like he thought could she be considered valid.
When I hear that term you used, I think of those who think they are superior because of their beliefs but hate us for fighting for ours.

  • Warren C. Bennett

I find the NoH8 campaign to be full of vile people. Even the ‘noh8’ videos are full of hate and vulgarity. They really don’t make their point well…

  • John Hanover

How sad, the party of ” Pro Choice ” unless that involves free will, free thoughts, and differs from the party line.

  • SDN

These people are why the fine old custom of dueling needs to make a comeback.

  • jdkchem

“Gawker describes Jane Pitt’s letter slamming Obama as “quasi-racist.” Is that all they’ve got?”

Somebody needs to pull their head out of their ass.

  • Bu11et5p0nge

Brad Pitts Mom is a Rock Star in my book.

  • Hiraghm

I think the reason leftists are so emotionally vehement in situations like this is because their whole philosophy is based on emotion, rather than reason. What makes them ‘feel’ good or ‘feel’ bad, regardless of objective reality. Many of them also seem incredibly ego-centric.
Notice none of the tweets refute her editorial comments; they just hurl invective. “Brad Pitt’s mom is a c* because she disagrees with me, because she’s a c*!” seems the most common counter “argument”.

    • JoeS7

Do these even count as leftists anyway? Just because they disagree with her, doesn’t make them leftists. Besides, her argument is completely illogical. “…is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.”. She is making assumptions there and I’m not surprised that provoked such an extreme reaction. “What makes them ‘feel’ good or ‘feel’ bad, regardless of objective reality” That basically describes a lot of Christians, who only “believe” in God so they have hope.

Anyway, only the extreme tweets will have been chosen to be put on here. They won’t put any normal tweets on here because that would defeat the purpose of the article.

      • AMSilver

Completely illogical? Making assumptions? Obama came out within the last few weeks and said he supports same-sex marriage. To state a fact is neither illogical nor making assumptions. Obama is in favor of abortion. She may be stating the fact in an unflattering way, but again, that doesn’t make it either illogical or an assumption.
I’m also guessing that your experience of Christians mostly comes from what you see in TV shows, and you’ve never actually had a deep conversation with a Christian about their beliefs because your description of Christians is weak, and doesn’t describe the majority in any way.

    • Nancy

Precisely. Indeed, a sad, sad commentary. They seem unable to argue the point on substance, rather, on pure ‘what I want’ emotion is their meme.

  • Hiraghm

I hope Brad Pitt visits Twitchy.

  • Mia DeFilippis

Why is it OK for All this Hate??? Shouldn’t. We all be tolerant? Isn’t that what the noh8 is about, tolerance?? It just seems it is not OK for one group to be intolerant but yet it is ok for another??? We all need to show tolerance and stop being so hateful, these comments about someone’s mother are Extremely hateful and make a mockery of what no h8 is about….

    • Nancy

Sadly, Noh8 consists primarily of these types of folks, folks that are radically intolerant, hateful, and maliciousness. Henceforth, they are not well thought of generally.

  • Karen Geier

thanks for the shout out! Nice to see all the people who support bigotry convening in one place. Civil rights for all (including gays!) Hugs and kisses.

    • SuperFash

From your tweet it is apparent you AREN’T ascribing to the No H8 theory. You have so much hate in your tweet. (And those that follow.) Let us know what Brad tweets to you.

      • Karen Geier

I’ll be sure to let you know.

For the record, opposing gay rights on religious grounds is flat out wrong (and was used in the same way during the 60s against african americans.)

No one should EVER support that position, because it is indefensible. Why should I sit back and let someone get national press for being anti-gay?

I hate bigotry, and that is why I said it the way I did. You realise calling what I said bigotry is a false equivalency, right? Because I have made no attempt to call for the prevention of HER civil rights, have I?

No one wants to admit it, but these positions by right wing homophobes make people like her look like the ignorant people who threw rocks at the first integrated school class.

Civil rights are for all, no exceptions.

Sorry if that sounds too much like both the constitution AND the bible.

        • melle1228

That shows how ignorant you are Karen. It was Christians who led the charge in the 1960’s.. REVEREND Martin Luther King Jr. ring any bells? There are no civil rights that gays don’t have. Miscegenations laws were struck down because whites were excluded from interracial marriage and other races could intermarry. Homosexuals are not excluded from marriage and they are not specifically excluded from same sex marriage while other groups partake in same sex marriage. You use buzzwords like homophobe and equality, but you don’t know what any of it means. And I certainly don’t think you have read the Bible much less the Constitution..

        • melle1228

Karen-might I make a suggestion? Get off twitter and do some studying of history and the Constitution. Christians led the charge in the 1960’s Civil Rights movement. Does Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. ring a bell? Miscegenation laws were struck down because whites were denied the right to intermarry other races. Other races could intermarry though. They were specifically excluded. Homosexuals are not specifically excluded from same sex marriage. No one can marry the same sex. Homosexuals are not excluded from marriage though. You use cute buzzwords like homophobe and equality but I would guess that you haven’t read the Bible or the Constitution.

    • Grumpa Grumpus

I think your satire fell flat.
      Satire relies on parody.

Calling people who talk reasonably and who are the object of death threats and vile-ism (most consider calling someone you disagree with a c*** vile…) bigots doesn’t feed the mechanism to produce satire.

It make it seem as if you aren’t paying attention to detail, though.

To recap: parody is the heart of satire, which means hyperbolic comparisons. Practice your routine prior to trying it on an audience. Do these thkngs and you’ll develop your comedic talent! Look forward to seeing your routine when you’ve fixed these points! Good luck!

      • Karen Geier

“It make it seem as if you aren’t paying attention to detail, though.”
“Do these thkngs and you’ll develop your comedic talent!”
Your words, not mine. Methinks you ought to take some of your own medicine.

        Thanks for the crit!

        • Bristel

Can’t touch the topic at hand? Criticize the spelling. That always gets you positive attention.

    • Frustrated Teacher

I see very little evidence of bigotry and hate here in these comments (perhaps you should look up the word) and plenty of it in your post Karen. All DO have civil rights as guaranteed by the Constitution. Your side seems to forget that and push for MORE rights for small ‘special’ groups that then use this to push their ideas, view and morals on others (kind of what the left accuses the right of doing). It is a shame that you confuse those who have moral objections to certain behaviors and lifestlye with bigotry. It is a cool way of shouting down and attempting to marginalize those who disagree with you and the left uses it ad nauseum (just like the race card). It also covers your lack of solid arguments (which your comment also shows).

  • Comportamiento

I am always amazed at the courage people like Jane Pitt have to publicly print her opinion. It can’t be easy with a famous Hollywood son to speak up like that. Bravo Jane!

    • conservativechick

So many in Hollywood are afraid to voice their TRUE opinions and values for JUST this reason. The liberals can be vicious bullies and very intimidating. These people also want to continue to WORK.

  • Cary Michael Bogue

Most ironic comment: ” **** ****, judgmental bitc*.”

  • Julie Lieneke

So, people who disagree with you – you who have a different opinion-
are vile, replusive, and deserve to die. You would all enjoy a communist,
facist, or Nazi Germany form of government where there is no freedom of
    speech or religion.

  • AngeliaKim

If Brad Pitt was a real man he would be defending his mother. ANY REAL MAN Would!

  • Im_Rick_James

No class. No morals. We can thank 30 years of liberal policies for these little darlings. I sense a sea change coming and it can’t come soon enough.

  • jen longview

Wow the words use, I’m impressed with their higher learning, Good job @ school.. Lets work on the Vocab, please.. It’s easy to hide behind a computer .. I dare you to use the c word to my face, you coward weak troll..

  • jen longview

Pathetic weak Dems, Say something good or shut up..Please..

  • DrDean

    No H8*

*Unless of course you are a member of an approved PC protected group; or an approved leftist supporter of same – then H8 against those who fail to agree with you is required to demonstrate how tolerant, peaceful and correct you and your liberal belief system is.

  • Shayne01
  • Sheila Warner

Free speech is only for the liberals, I guess. What a sad display. I hope Brad Pitt defends his mom. She has the right to express her own opinions, whether people agree or not with her.

  • Hello Jerry (D)

    Liberalism is a mental disorder.

  • Hello Jerry (D)

I fear these basement dwellers for the day when they actually have to leave it and get a JOB… They won’t have time to be Internet Rambos like they are now.

  • William Robertson

Makes me long for the days when Gay meant lively and exuberant, and Homosexual meant … homosexual.

  • Jimmy Z

You know of course that you can reply to these horrible people, and ask them what is wrong in their head and heart that they would write such nasty things.

  • Kellen Dunkelberger

Hating hate speech is somehow hate speech?
I don’t understand how you conservatives are trying to twist that pretzel around.
It’s like saying hatred of racism is racist.

Oh wait, I’ve heard that argument form you guys before, too.

    • meru

You’re an idiot. She was not spewing hate speech.

  • chuckawala

It would appear that to the far left & Hollywood, the greatest danger to the world is the Conservative & especially the Christian Conservative.
Never mind the millions starved to death, tortured, killed, imprisoned, denied freedom by Communists like Mao, Stalin, Castro, & Pol Pot, never mind Radical Islam crashing jumbo jets into skyscrapers, we’ve got to keep our eyes on the rascally Conservatives & make another conservative bashing movie.

  • Jess Sayin

These are just plants for Michele’s pathetic tirades against free speech.

  • Kelii Abordo

and these were ALL the comments I suspect? hypocrisy indeed,

she spewed the same hate, just in 80yo terms

  • Cruz2016!!!

Wow, these people who are supposed to be so caring and loving sure show how vile and disgusting they really are. Typical Obama supporters…the lowest scum on earth.

  • PhilDavisNYC

There are hundreds of millions of people on Twitter. You can always cherry pick a few nut jobs from the right or left. I followed the links of the tweets you chose and these are people with very few followers so their message goes out to about 4 millionths of Twitter users. A negligible sample which means nothing except that there are some rude (mostly quite young) people on the internet. That isn’t really news.

  • Ernest Rutledge

seems liberals still have no tolerance for the opinions of others…they just can’t tolerate the intolerance
…hypocrite defined and well deserved as well you douche bags

  • Redford1974

Where is Brad Pitt? The entire Hollywood crowd is a bunch of political wannabes. Half graduated from high school. After reading the comments, none here got out of middle school. We are doomed

  • BennyIsMyNameBeerIsMyGame

I fail to understand the relation between the NO H8 campaign and that story about some morons on twitter, seriously.

    I must be stupid.

Or maybe it’s not me,it’s you.

  • Jack_H

The left is so filled with cowards. They talk crap but cower and name call when confronted. Nothing but pussies on the left.

  • Basset_Hound

Remember when the Left threw absolute conniptions over Rush calling Sandra Fluke a “slut”? Where’s the outrage now?

  • ruthsangels

Lend your support to a woman who spoke out even when it wasn’t popular.
