Buzzfeed uses liberals' tweets to portray conservatives as stupid

Yesterday, Buzzfeed ran an article, “People Who Say They’re Moving To Canada Because Of ObamaCare, featuring 17 people who claim they are moving to Canada to protest the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision upholding the Affordable Care Act. The snarky subhead: “I’m sure they’ll like the healthcare just fine there.”

Shorter Buzzfeed: Stupid conservatives! So very, very stupid!

Needless to say, the Buzzfeed article has gotten lots of play on the left side of the Twitter-sphere:

Even “Slutty Slut Slut” joins in on the mockery:

Just one little problem: Some of the tweets featured by Buzzfeed are obviously not supposed to be taken seriously:

A few minutes of research reveals that at least one-third of the “stupid conservatives” featured by the sarcasm-challenged Buzzfeed reporter aren’t conservative and don’t oppose Obamacare:

This woman who was featured in the Buzzfeed article wasn’t even talking about health care:

Looks like the joke’s on you, Buzzfeed.

Update: 24 hours later, the Left is still laughing at all those stupid conservatives.

    Van Summers

#SCOTUS holds up free healthcare for everyone?! Screw this commie country, I’m moving to #Canada #whoswithme

Hey, Van Einstein, Obamacare is many things, but FREE ain’t one of them.

    • MirrorKrys

If the “30 million” people couldn’t afford HC before, how will they pay for it now? Oh that’s right, my taxes go up to the Fed central gov’t who reallocates it other people, sort of like those EBT cards the slackers can use for beer and gambling. So I, along with other Americans, pay for other people’s HC and petty pleasures. Keeps us all down. Should have left things alone, the worst of HC is now the government tells the doctors what they can and cannot do. No more personal relationship with your doctor after 2014 and I HOPE THIS APPLIES to all the rich lefties – no private doctors for them either!

      • driveswift

Healthcare was going up anyway because those people who couldn’t afford it aren’t turned away by your hospitals – so each and every day your costs go up to cover those who don’t/can’t pay their bills. By having everyone participate, as in car insurance, the costs will go down – but of course since there is no public option the loosely regulated insurance companies could charge whatever they want. This is why ACA has a provision which refunds 80% of unspent premiums (and a 20% profit margin/operating cost for a business that essentially provides no material goods is still pretty good.) No coverage is affected by the government any more or less than it was before, there is just a penalty for refusal to take personal responsibility.

        • MirrorKrys

But who is the gov’t to tell us when to take personal responsibility? Why do they give single mothers food stamps, apts and welfare and not force them to take personal responsibility. This is overreach by the central gov’t which should be small. How about drug addicts – will they be taxed for refusing to take personal responsibility and not use drugs? This list goes on. And yes, the gov’t will be telling doctors which treatments they can give…and to get your medical records, and access to your checking a/c via the IRS. This is not simply a Healthcare issue, the bill is very long and its tentacles reach to every part of your privacy and choices. Will this cover illegals – will they pay the penalty? To me overall, it will be us same American suckers footing the bills as before.

        • Brian

injecting 30 million people into the system will raise prices. The catastrophic care that you are talking about is one thing but now you have 30 million more people getting physicals and going to the doctor when they have a headache. The preventative care costs will dwarf whatever “catastrophic care” costs you are talking about.

        • Rosewould

You’re the the ones who believe there will be an “economy of scale”. A decrease in cost due to millions more participating. This is the same government that was charging us $750.00 for a toilet seat. And we’re supposed to be the stupid ones.

        • TugboatPhil

You are leaving out a very big part of the costs in that we are encouraging illegal aliens to enter the country and then paying for their health care with Medicaid. Hospital ERs near the border get swamped with illegals that don’t pay for visits and some have had to close down.

When I was a kid there was no federal health care at all. I saw Medicare signed into law. Once govt. set a price on what they would pay, hospitals began using that sum as the “cost”, whether or not it was a true cost. The more govt. involved itself into the system, the more it has risen.

The ONLY way govt. can cut costs is to deny service. Name ANY other area where govt. reduces costs of a service? It will be no different here. What will be gone is a means of recourse of bad treatment. Currently you can sue an insurance company or a doctor. When govt. is the only player in town, that choice will be gone.

      • NCR Elite

My fiance (soon to be wife in a month), who is a doctor, is distraught over the healthcare ruling.

There WILL be a shortage of doctors, you can count on that.

        • brendawatkins

I asked a doctor who came in where I work how he felt about yesterdays ruling, his answer.. I’m about to get drunk.

    • Dee In Cursive

Please actually read the articles if you’re going to comment on them. They clearly showed Van Summers was being sarcastic. #Fail

      • TugboatPhil

You are correct, Dee. I think I pasted the wrong quote. Yesterday was chaotic. I hope I can “pass” the next time.

  • Lizbuddie

All these silly, con-hating, knee-jerking Lefties – I may have to move to Canada.

  • MaddMedic

Reblogged this on Freedom Is Just Another Word… and commented:
After we repeal ObamaCare the leftist swirls can move to Canada..please…

  • tomtom1983

Those are some pretty big words for any liberal to spin considering their Messiah plans to visit all 57 American states, or Pelosi’s assertion that we have more then 500,000,000 million people in this country.

Not only are conservatives more intelligent then that, we understand the process of any functioning Republic and recognise the difference between hypocrisy and civil discourse.

By the way libbies, no one from the right has any intention of leaving this battle, however it seems only liberals dumb enough to believe their lie. What does that say about your intelligence?

So you moronic libs have no credibility to label anyone “stupid”.

    Dumb liberals.

  • Malice_in_Blunderland

TomTom, another four years of this President and your assertion that no conservative is leaving will prob be wrong. Not to Canada, but somewhere else. I have my bags and heart already packed

    • driveswift

It’s going to be hard to find a first world country without universal health care and higher taxes, good luck.

    • Bemani Dog

Nah, they’ll be going to Alberta where private insurance is allowed.

  • Brian

It’s obvious that they want to move to Canada because Obama is BLACK and not because of health care.

  • Lewis Regner

Liberals can be such gullible, easily dumbfound-able dipshits. They have humorless empty souls it seems, about things that in the slightest way offends their hearts. Sarcasm is beyond them, that is when their sacred cows are being jostled about, if even just slightly…

  • SuperstionQueen

I saw one of these yesterday that said “You idiots. They have free healthcare there too.” to which I replied “which part of it is free?”.

  • NCR Elite

Once again the left is fudging the truth to make their point. Can we believe anything these people say anymore?

  • RIChris

Buzzfeed uses liberals’ tweets to portray conservatives as stupid. It’s a ploy the Buzzards use to distract from their own stupidity, which only makes them look more stupid, which pleases their stupid readers, which causes them to continue being stupid. It a vicious cycle but it makes them happy.

  • Morton Clarke

These geniuses seem to have forgotten how the left has been thoroughly trounced in Canada. And the Canadian friends I have tell me they are looking forward to reform in medicine, away from the socialist model.

  • Jaynie59

Andrew Kaczynski. I have to laugh because there is at least one so-called conservative blogger who defends this guy as a good conservative who just happens to work for Buzzfeed. Yeah, right. You people will never learn. Buzzfeed and Mediaite are liberal/progressive sites and anyone who works for them is no good. I don’t care how “fair” you think they are or have been in the past. They have no principles and no scruples and they deserve to be scorned. Oh, was that impolite and discourteous? Tough.

  • Reyes Garcia

So it’s those libs that are the real dumbies , can’t tell the drifferent between a joke and a fact. I guess it on them , LOL . God Bless the USA.
