Daily Caller’s Neil Munro interrupts President Obama; ‘is this right thing to do for American workers’; Update: Ruh Roh! Tucker Carlson asked in for ‘talk’ with press secretary Carney

Oh, my! As Twitchy reported earlier, President Obama was scheduled to give a statement on his latest power grab involving deportation waivers. He was an hour late and was not going to take any questions. Transparency!

The President’s remarks finally proceeded as nonsense-as-usual, once he deigned to grace us all with his presence. But, The Daily Caller’s Neil Munro had other ideas.

Here’s the video of what went down:

Jokes commenced immediately.

Some members of the press weren’t as amused.

One thing is sure, President Obama was not pleased with Mr. Munro.

Munro’s explanation?

Well. That’s true, isn’t it? And it worked.

This is sure to be the hot topic in some circles all weekend! And may make a great test for potential new buddies. Do they giggle madly or do they get all serious, clasp pearls and gasp “my word! Decorum!” and then delve into an hour-long conversation about it?

Update: Photo of Obama’s reaction.

Update: “Neil Munro,” “Daily Caller,” and “Tucker Carlson” are all currently trending.

It’s a damn good question, or maybe its a vote for him. Nah. Not Obama.

  • d1comment

His Highness shall not be interrupted. Re education camps for Mr. Munro.

  • Fredddd

Good for Munro. Only one there with gumption.

  • StepMJohn

The President makes an important announcement, and the press isn’t allowed to question him about it? If that’s true, what the hell is the press doing there?

    • Thora Lynn Nutting

Couldn’t say it better myself. Maybe at a time when we didn’t have television and we depended on written word for our news it would be ok, but this is just ridiculious. He is asking something that the press wouldn’t and they are shocked….LOL

  • Fredddd

It’s not good for American workers, but Obama thinks it’s good to get him some votes.

  • Teritd

Good for the reporter. Nobody, not even the president, is above the law.

At first, I thought this set a bad precedent that we will regret and regret very soon, then I remembered our side doesn’t need to lie in order to get votes.

maybe Obama should try commanding respect it works for Oprah

  • Daniel Schwartz

Look closer, people! That’s not Neil Munro. That’s Glenn Reynolds.

(And he has his hands in his pockets. Probably a puppy in one pocket and a blender in the other.)

You cannot disrespect the office of the president with impunity because he happens to be a black man. Pathetic!

  • Carl Brown

“I don’t need to answer questions, I DEFINE transparency.”

  • cheezwhizz

Isn’t it the job of a real reporter to talk to officials and ask questions ?
    Well, isn’t it Juan ?
So what is so sacred about this G-hady that no one can ask him a question ?
If he can’t take the heat ….

  • tomtom1983

The left is an embarrassment to the American people. They call it rude to question the president but when they put a severed Bush resembling head on some HBO dvd, the left buys that liberal garbage in bulk.

And not only is it helpful to question that Soros turd, its the very mechanism that keeps those federal rapist accountable to the people. Its amazing the scope of liberal BS is so massive they forget they not only questioned Bush, they sought his imprisonment.

The left is pathetic and should just be put to sleep. They’ll never be tolerant or opinionated with objectivity and sentient thought.

Shh its wrong to question the president. What kind of liberal nonsense is that, hell its wrong not to question him.

  • cbinflux

It’s hard to respect the office with that Socialist in it!

  • radjahshelduck

I think what Munro did was inappropriate. He’s like a young male Helen Thomas.

  • http://twitter.com/Stimulus4U Marty Luther

When @BarackObama bypasses Congress and won’t take
questions, some reporter SOMEWHERE–Please interrupt him! Thanks @DailyCaller, and I don’t care who doesn’t like it. Obama has vilified the Supreme Court and rejected the Congress. Time for decorum is PAST.

  • cscape

Oh my GOD…… they actually made the mistake of letting a REAL REPORTER in there, and not just another Obama Throne Sniffer!!!

  • gtwreck

Couple of questions: Illegals compete with the poor for minimum wage jobs. Why does Obama hate the poor? The other question: President grants 800000 waivers to illegals and President’s attorney general Sues to prevent Florida cleaning up Voter Registration lists. I know there is a connection here. What am I missing? I just got to find it.

Anyone who thinks this is rude should find the press conference of Sam Donaldson screaming at President Reagan when he was trying to pardon the national turkey for Thanksgiving. The poor farm boy who raised the turkey looked like he was about to cry.

    • Rosewould

      By turkey you mean Donaldson?

    • edward cropper

      Sam WHo ?????

  • http://www.facebook.com/alan.reasin Alan Reasin

The President bypasses Congress after failing to get the Dream Act passed and adds 800,000 illegals to the job market. So will they be able to receive unemployment, and other safety net benefits that they may presently not qualify for. There are a few questions that should have been asked, but the reporters were not supposed to ask any questions. Hey, make the announcement without calling for the reports to assemble. So what will he bypass congress with next.

  • 5ftflirt

Speaking truth to power! So the Leftists who love to heckle and shout down and harass politicians and college speakers and would have applauded doing this to Bush – what? you’re all fusty establishment types now?

  • zen

The most interesting thing about this moment is how harsh, how angry Obama is.
There is some kind of violent overtone in it. It’s a threatening style, almost physical.
Like he’s saying he’s going to get violent. Am I the only person who saw that?
There is absolutely no need for that kind of condescension in intercommunication, much less from a president of an important country.

    • Rosewould

Bingo! I saw it too. He did NOT handle it well. That’s exactly why the lefty loons on here are all in a tizzy.

  • pabarge

Obama and the Democrat-owned main-stream media think they can steam roll over everyone without a whimper from us. F’ the lot of you buggers.

  • http://twitter.com/NobodysMonkey S.Com

Brilliant move by Obama he can now tout the “Illegal Immigrant Unemployment Rate” @ 0.0%! This is a very telling move by the President… He is desperate. He had to do it! Hear me out… IF Rubio is chosen as Mitts VP candidate the Dream Act will become a Republican plank (by all accounts Rubio all ready has a common sense plan developed). Legal Latinos want a common sense immigration policy… And as the only Latinos that can vote they should side with the REPUBLICANS on this issue.

Even the most conservative of us believe legal immigration should be supported and promoted by our government. Let’s hope Rubio if nominated proposes a policy that is fair and provides a no BS way to legal immigration… Dems are scarred and are planting seeds (axelrods “cynical” comments, this executive order). Time to own these clowns by providing solutions!

  • Carlos Myers

Neil Munro did break decorum by asking a question in the middle of a speech. But what did the President expect when he decided to not take questions after giving a speech on a major policy change?

  • ozconservative

All the libtards that think this is akin to interruoting the Sermon on the Mount are probably the same ones who thought the reporter who threw the shoe at Bush 43 was a hero.

  • lillymckim

How dare a reporter ask a question of this regime?

  • roastytoasty

Obama is a big stupid chicken. Is that juvenile enough?

  • http://www.facebook.com/luis.ortiz.775 Luis Ortiz

People around here are missing the point. He interrupted the president IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS SPEECH. Questions should ALWAYS BE AFTER THE SPEECH IS FINISHED. He had the right to ask, just…You know, at the end of the speech like any person with common sense.

    • Allen Grim

That would make perfect sense, except for the part about the president not planning on taking questions at all so if the reporter would have waited to the end he would have just turned his back and walked away without answering him. Instead he got the mouth breather so pissed off that in the end he did answer the question. Not a good answer, but we no longer expect that from President Zero.

In what sense were the rest of the “reporters” functioning as reporters if they were all just standing there passively conducting stenography? How fascinating to watch the other people who allege themselves to be journalists tut-tutting because someone dared to ask a question. Give us more of that, please!

    • edward cropper

They were not just standing there, they were all on their knees and couldn’t be heard.

      • King Leer

        Rather… they could not speak…

  • Hooligan2012

who knew? there actually was a reporter among the usual jocksniffing stenographers in the white house press pool. the shock of the preezy of the steezy when he realzed he would have to hot foot it the hell out of there b/c he might get asked a real question, i guess secret service will have to look into house a real reporter made it in among his shoe shiner corps.

  • ICLemmings

You can book it that by monday he will have the SService checking him out for asking threatening questions, and the IRS checking his tax returns from the day he had his first job.

    • Rosewould

With this regime I wouldn’t be surprised. Also TSA will want to probe him. EPA will be checking his exhaust system.

  • http://twitter.com/SiobhanKelly11 Siobhan Kelly

I hope Tucker Carlson continues to stick up for his reporter. Hopefully the White House woodshed talk won’t contain too many threats for daring to question Dear Leader. For 3 1/2 years we have been watching with disgust at every Obama press conference while the WH press corps giggles at Obama’s every joke and never ask a tough question. When one does, the rest of them gang up one him and threaten to ban him.

    • http://twitter.com/TeresaNelson5 Teresa Nelson

I hope Tucker Carlson tells them to go pound sand. If they say he can’t send reporters anymore (which they probably will anyways) hire a free-lancer “mole” reporter. Hell I’d do it

  • Sorni

Maybe he should have just thrown a shoe.
