Bloomberg aims to ban sodas over 16 ounces

New York City mayor Bloomberg is looking to extend his precious nanny state to unprecedented proportions. He’s now trying to snatch frosty cold sodas from the hands of millions of parched New Yorkers. Any soda over 16 ounces could soon be banned from the shelves of NYC stores.

Twitter let it known that it would not go quietly into the night when it comes to deciding what they get to drink.

You crazy people of NYNY elected this guy three times. Don’t start whining now and want to come down here. If you do, we’ll quarantine you for at least three years at the M-D line til some of that big city knowledge wears off ya!

Liberals always told me that prohibition didn’t work…. but they’re doing it anyways

  • stuckinIL4now

Yep, lefty dumbmasses in NY just like the ones in IL–keep voting the same useless corrupt morons into office and let ’em get away with our money, our fun, our values, our country. Wake up, people. Don’t you all think you deserve better than these stick-in-the-mud puds?

Took a gander at the comment section in the NYTimes article on this and I have concluded that you just can’t FIX STUPID. Liberalism is a mental disorder.
Everything they TOUCH and CONTROL, becomes an expensive lesson in FAILURE.

I wonder if New York will pony up the cash to replace all of the vending machines that dispense 20-ounce bottles?

    • weRbroke

But…having to COMPLY to regulations will be a BOON to the economy…they are creating JOBS…right?

  • BO_stinks

    so now prohibition works?

  • Lucid_American

This it’s fine people need to leave these states, purchase their goods from other states when possible, participate in legal barter exchanges, and bank out of state with their money. When the tax dollars dry up and there is no one left to tax, the whole thing will level set (crash) back to where it belongs. It won’t be much longer….

Anyone remember the movie called Demolition Man. It was set in the future where people would get a fine for cursing. They had to eat only healthy foods and the rebels lived under ground and ate cheeseburgers and smoked. hahahaha Thats New York.

Checking NYC Human Resources for job postings for “Restaurant Soda Inspectors”, the benefits should be great + no job accountability unlike private sector jobs.

    Watch the other hand !!!

Liberals won’t be happy until the US is 3rd world. Instead of banning stuff, why not promote health, subsidize gym memberships? #sodawars

  • Armando

Reducing sizes of sodas and unhealthy snacks have been tried before. What have been the results?
