Hmm: Twitter opens Detroit office to serve bailed-out auto companies

Twitter fans in bankrupt Detroit were buzzing this morning about the social networking giant’s announcement that it’ll be establishing an office in Detroit.

Brace for a deluge of “promoted tweets” and advertising revenue from bailed-out auto companies.

Question: Can’t they do business over the phone…or the Internet? Just asking.

Question: Have they heard about New Black Panther Party chief Malik Shabazz’s threat to burn Detroit down? Better bring extra fire extinguishers.

It’s their choice, but the real question is how long will they stay.

Seriously, why would a business moving to a troubled city be a bad thing? Congrats Detroit!

…because the reason it’s troubled is because of unions, thugs, corrupt politicans and anti-business climate neck n neck with CA?

it’s easy to be snide about detroit when you have no empathy for the city or its residents. as a native detroiter, i think this is great news and even if twitter’s only revenue stream is the auto companies, so what? they are putting detroiters to work thus helping to save a little bit of the city.

Yeah, just like when Google moved to Madison, which openly harbours family members of x-soviet commies and terrorists.

Difference is that Google funnels its profits through Ireland and the Cayman Island to avoid around paying 20% of its taxes.

You’re a total fool if you think this move is based soley on benevolence.

Is it really in Detriot, you know, within 8 mile Road from the north, or in a cozy suburb or union office?

    Do tell!
