GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum’s apparent endorsement of Barack Obama over Mitt Romney is not going over well in the Twitterverse. First, the quote from AP:
“You win by giving people a choice,” Santorum said during a campaign stop in Texas. “You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who’s just going to be a little different than the person in there.”
Santorum added: “If they’re going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk of what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate for the future.”
And now, the reaction. Yeesh:
I'm a #Santorum guy, and I vastly prefer Romney over Obama. #ForTheRecord—

.@davidaxelrod's job is getting too easy. He just wakes up, tweets what Romney or Santorum said yesterday, then let's the GOP do the rest—

It's official…Santorum is completely off his rocker! He'd prefer Obama to Romney. Yep batshit insane. washington.cbslocal.com/2012/03/22/san…—

One satirical Romney account offered a rapid response:
@loweryfinds Santorum will hold his nose and endorse me again in 2012 hoping for a job in a Romney cabinet.—

Newt weighed in:
Rick Santorum is dead wrong. Any GOP nominee will be better than Obama.—

Is it the end of the #etchasketch meme?
I think #Santorum may have etched his last sketch: washington.cbslocal.com/2012/03/22/san…—
